Received call from 718-476-7661 Caller ID showed the name N.Y. CITY POLiCE Dept, so I answered the call. A recording from " Card Services' immediately started a speel about how I was eligible for a lower interest rate, then stated press 1 to speak to a representative now. I pressed the 1 so I could tell them to remove my number from their call list. What I got was a man who sounded very Arabic or Muslim and wanted to know if I had a credit card. I told him he was arrogant and a rotten person to be using the NY City Police Dept as a cover for his scam, ESPECIALLY after what they did to N.Y and the Twin Towers. pretty rotten. He said , What , who am I talking to? I am talking to the police or what?  I told him he spoke lousy English and hung up.  Made a police report locally, and then tried to contact NY CITY POLICE, Internal affairs Div to notify them of this scam and their being used in the Caller ID Tag. Local police here
said they would also call them.  Someone has to stop this. Its WRONG. and you should report it and then call 212-741-8401 to inform NY PD of what is happening. Maybe the Attorney General can do something about it , or homeland security.

This is a known telemarketer/spammer. Call came in on my cellphone. I reported it to FCC. Scam is "notice about your credit card."

Just got one of these calls on my cell phone. Caller ID said 718-476-7661 New York. Same recorded message about my generic "credit card" and offering a low interest rate. When my bank calls about a credit card, they always identify themselves, so this seemed like an obvious phishing scam. I hung up.

I didn't answer, they didn't leave a message.

Got a call from this number; they did not leave a voice mail.  

I got a phone call from this number on my cell phone.  I didn't answer it.  I tried called back from a land line phone and got an immediate busy signal.  Scary!  How can we stop these?  Is there a "do not call" list we can get on?  but it might not make any difference with these people!

This number, 718 476 7661, showed up on caller I.D. as "New York City Police ."    How about THAT!   Then the recorded message was nonsense about credit cards so I pushed '1' to speak to a rep because I was angry that they are identifying themselves as the police.

In the past, I've gotten calls from legitimate police depts. about stolen identity so calls from police in other locales can occur.  Imagine these jerks using that I.D. for their obnoxious credit card calls.  Some nerve!

When the rep came on the line she said hello and I simply said: "Yeah,  so what do you want!!!!"   CLICK -- The idiot was gone -- obviously sensing trouble from me.  

Received call tried to call back busy

Missed a call from this number, but I can tell by other peoples responses that it's a phishing scam.

Got a call stating not a problem but wanted to lower my credit card interest rate.  When I got a person they stated banks I did not do business with and they hung up.  Yesterday received the same type of call from restricted number that stated a bank I do use and asked which card I used.  I said one that I KNEW I did not have and they stated I had a $4000.00 balance.  I said no I do not and they asked what my balance was.  I said you tell me and they hung up.  

Got a call, couldn't answer and they didn't leave a VM. Tried calling back and the line was busy.

Got a call from this number.  Recorded message said it was a call from my "credit card" and that there was no problem but that I was eligible for lowering my interest rates and to push a number on my key pad if I was interested but this was my last notification of my eligibility.  Too vague so I disconnected.
