i didnt mean that to be offensive its just hard to convey emotions when your typing. So I am sorry for that comment if you took it as an insult but the reality is that if people didnt make investments or buy things over the phone then these people wouldnt be making these types of calls. As for what you wrote I am some kind of CEO and have received some really good stock tips from calls like these and some were complete garbage the point I was making is that answering the phone is part of the job and it just seems like it takes more energy to come on this site and complain (which was probably done while you were at work) than to just brush the call off and get on with your day, But again I am sorry if you took the comment the wrong way.

i just called them back and gave them all (3) of the lines at our company and asked them to remove our # from their database and asked that i receive an e-mail confirming that they will be stopping the calls. To be continued...
Sherri the secretary 2012-02-07 17:31:23 Unknown
first of all, such as in my company, answering the phone is NOT all that i am responsible for, and therefore when these calls come in they are a hinderance, they are NOT customers calling to place an order (like in your example-so its not apples to apples to start with!) second of all- we are on the do not call list for calls like this...if my boss (ie:the owner!) wants to buy stock he will research it (or more likely - I WILL) but we would never buy stock from receiving a call like this, thirdly, when they have been told (nicely the first few times, not so much after that) that we are not interested and to please remove the number and they continue to call it is HARRASSMENT and there should be a way to punish them and lastly you must be some kind of CEO because it is obvious that you have no idea what a "receptionists" responsibilities may or may not be, which means they are too little for you to concern your day with
Benny A Drew 2012-01-30 15:18:32 Unknown
I have been getting this call in the mornings asking for a Benny they hang up when I say am Benny, they may be looking for my son who is dead!
Kytti 2012-01-21 02:34:53 Unknown
Kinda, sorta. Someone at this number keeps calling and asking for my father...who died in 2006. Even after being informed several times that my father has died, I am still getting calls from this number and they are still asking for my father. May be normal "business", but they seem pretty dumb to me.

this is a scam. if someone tells you they need your social security number within 20 minutes of meeting/speaking with you on the phone. it is a scam and chances are you identity will be stolen.
Nobody, i REPEAT, nobody needs your social security number to mail you a simple pamphlet.
I let the guy go on his tangent for 5 minutes trying to sell me stuff and lied and told him i was a 37, retired, and made 100,000 a year still. and he still tried to sell me. who makes 100,000 dollars a year if they don't work??
He just wanted my identity, so like i said, after he went on his 'pitch' i said, hmmm sounds good, this is a scam, i'm not really 37, i'm scamming you (laughed) and he started screamin at me on the phone as i was laughing and hung up, and blocked the number.
you deserve to have some fun with these guys, why not? they bother you, you bother them :) cheers

Bryan From Ohio 2011-11-04 18:49:34 Telemarketer
Called me twice so far with Hot stock tip for Sprint. I told him I was not interested and to take me off his call list. He just kept pressuring to invest. I told him secind time I am not interested and I would hang up on him.He just kept talking and I hung on him.
Must be despartate to get anyone's money.
I would avoid this guy and not speak to him.

Typical investment call. They try to get around the do not cal registry by saying they talked to you X months ago and you were interested in investing. I get calls from them and other similar companies several times a day. They get paid if you answer.

Geno 2011-10-23 01:06:15 Unknown
Yeah, I cant remember guy's name and he said he talked to me 1 month ago. Told me my name and address and started asking what my investment risk is. I told him I never talked to him before and He kept saying I did. I finally hung up.
marcy 2011-10-20 16:47:04 Unknown
Has called over and over, is very pushy and aggressive.
common sense 2011-08-15 00:06:25 Unknown
Get your facts straight. Brookstone is a completely different company, not a remnant of Gunn Allen Financial. The company took over the office space after Gunn Allen went out of business. That hardly makes them affiliated!
Just a thought 2011-08-14 07:01:04 Unknown
Let me start by saying that I am not affiliated with this company in any way. I am not an employee or a client. I get calls from this number the same as everybody else on here does. I just have enough sense to know that these types of cold calls are part of this business and many other businesses for that matter. To say its a scam is just wrong. They recommend stocks listed on The NYSE and NASDAQ, whether you want to take the persons advice or not is your decision. Its just funny how the bulk of the comments are from receptionists. Seriously, a receptionist complaining about people calling the place they work is like someone from McDonalds complaining about someone walking into the store and ordering a hamburger

Brandon from Brookstone Securities asking for the owner. Said it was regarding a personal matter. Hung up.

F**s hung up on me when I answered the phone. These (P)ricks don't deserve anyone's business. Best thing to do is start cussing at them as soon as you pick up the phone :)
Ski 2011-08-03 14:39:25 Unknown
Now they want me to hold the line. What is up with that?
TX Gal 2011-08-01 19:50:51 Telemarketer
Male caller asking for the owner. Wouldnt state the nature of his call. But looking here tells me he is just another bogus telemarketer. He will never get through to the owner.
daddy 2011-07-08 14:46:19 Unknown
Number is from brookstone. Tried to act like we have done business before. Trying to sell stock in Verizon. Laughed at guy, told him I saw this in a movie, and hung up.
Sally 2011-07-07 13:52:51 Unknown
Don't know why they are calling
tom 2011-06-06 20:55:40 Unknown
have not answered this - the calls have been daily, show on my caller ID as "New York Call". No company name.
lily 2011-06-06 20:55:40 Unknown
Not a boiler room. they may be aggressive but not a scam
Rob 2011-06-06 20:55:40 Unknown
Unbelievably pushy and mouthy guy, has called before, wants me to believe he "gave me Netflix," now wants me to buy Verizon stock. Entertaining to see the different techniques he uses to try to keep me on the line. I'm listed as the President of my company, must be how these operations get my name - probably get one a month, at least.
Bill 2011-06-06 20:55:40 Unknown
yep _ I got a call from them today. Trying to sell stocks.
Bettie 2011-06-06 20:55:40 Unknown
The number belongs to Brookstone Securities in Staten Island, NY. It's a typical boiler-room operation. They called for my boss, who of course did NOT want to the call. The guy who called, Mark Bennett, said that my boss was expecting the call and that it was personal. Total liar!
Jon 2011-06-06 20:55:40 Unknown
These guys just keep calling and calling and calling after several request to stop.
DC 2011-05-06 16:31:04 Telemarketer
From the start, he acted like we'd spoken before and that I ignored a great stock tip. Tried politely to get off the phone several times and finally just hung up.
Don't answer and if you do, hang up right after he starts talking.
