Guys beware. I've been applying to jobs on line at hotjobs. Some of them ask you if you are interested in going back to school. I think if you check yes,(which I did) they take your phone number from the application you enter on line. I got a call from this number today too but I didn't answer. I also got a call from 602-639-7500 & 877-789-9861 asking if I wanted to go back to school. The only thing I can connect it to is hotjobs because this is the only place that I've been giving my phone number to.

who is your wireless provider?  if it is Verizon/AllTell, then it is a scam to run up your minutes. dont answer and dont worry about it. as soon as you say something to a customer service rep, the calls will stop

I am currently in Afghanistan and I got a call from this number last night on my cell phone. I have my phone turned on silent since I don't accept calls while I am serving over here due to the outrages bill I would get. I tried to call it on Skype and it wont connect. This could possibly be a computer calling or it could be a Phonecard of some type. The area code says it is out of NY.

Missed several calls from 718-948-5642 this morning and they did not leave a message.  I just received another call and answered at 12:25pm PST.  As soon as I answered the caller hung up.  Creep.

This number is ringing MORE than ten times a day!  It needs to stop!

That number started calling me today (10/31/09) and has called three times about an hour apart each time. but nobody answers, it's getting really annoying.

I've got atleast like 15 calls from this number I called it back once and it said I couldn't call this number long distance. But I keep wondering when they will stop!

I received several calls yesterday from this #.  I never answered it because I didn't recognize the #.  But it's certianly getting irritating.

I started getting a ton of calls from various numbers that I have null and found these type of pages. This all started when I joined a gaming site that offered money to read emails. In these emails they ask for your phone number and name. This is where they are getting the information. I have since left my phone number off any requests but still get the calls. I am assuming that there is a master list that they can get my number from. If you have joined any sites that pay you to read emails you will get these calls I am afraid. My null gets about 200 spam emails a day also. Unfortunately it is my main email name and I cannot change it.

I checked Exploreonlinedegrees.com that someone posted that the calls are coming from and sure enough it was one of the emails that I read on this site. I sent them an email just today from their contact us page to quit calling. I hope it works.

I have bought a whistle that I blow into the phone when I get these calls now. They have gone down substantially!

Starting today, I had five missed calls from this number (one every hour).  I never pick up and they never leave a voicemail...I'm downright irritated. Their number shows up oddly on my iPhone's caller ID too...

In the past 24 hrs, I have gotten 30 calls from this 718-948-5642 n am really annoyed by it. Wat the hell is going on n who is the idiot behind this.

It originates out of Kurgistan somewhere in Russia.
The man keeps stating that I filled out some online questionare about school.
I told him I haven't and he continues to call.I would like to kick his fkn a** if I could find him or the school he says he represents which he won't name.
If he calls you cuss him out.

this number has called me at least 6 time today, left NO message and only lets the phone ring twice before ending call.

This morning my boyfriend call a call from a random 800 number and they were asking about some sort of school education program. He told them he wasn't interested and then hung up. Then we started getting calls shortly after that from the 718 number. The same exact number calls both of our cell phones at the exact same time. Silence. Silence. Finally I answered my cell, and an Asian sounding guy knew my actual first name, and said something about DVDs (I think?) and the internet. Although we have not posted our numbers on the internet besides online applications. Infact, they just called 2 minutes ago. Its starting to piss me off...He said "hello is (my name) there?" i said "no, wrong number". This happened three times, im pretty sure it is pre recorded. I said "if you call me number again I am going to call the police".

Same situation as the rest.  I have gotten a call from this number 3 times a day within 15 minutes of each other for the last 6 days...no message.  Try to call back and get that the number is not in service.  I am getting very annoyed. Today is 10/21/2009.

Just got off the phone with some Indian.  I told him to stop calling and he got vulgar with me.  I hope he calls back.  Punk.

Pretty much the same story, mine just started today. I have not given my number to any schools, I'm also already at University of Phoenix. If anyone can figure out how to make them stop, please let me know!! Its getting old real fast. They've already called me 5 times since 11 am and its only 5pm. It averages about once an hour. OMG. Please help.
