Just got a call this afternoon and no msg.  F-ing annoying since I'm getting more and more of these unknown telemarketing-stenched calls.

Also got two calls today. No messages just music!!

Called and did not leave message, may all telemarketers burn in H-E-Double hockey stick!!!

They kept calling me so I decided to answer today. A man was speaking and he was calling me by my name. I don't know how they got the number because only close relatives have that number. The man has an American accent and I don't even live in America. When I returned the call it said: "Sorry our offices are closed". I didn't say anything while the man was calling my name saying: "Hello (my name)" repeatedly. Who are these people?

9 out of 10 they are a collection agency. they can skip trace you by linking up your social sercurity number on your file/account. and with your social security number on file or your home address they can also get in touch with your friends, neighbors, associates, old college friends and family members. They play as though they thought it was you they were reaching but they are fully aware of who and where they are calling. the skip trace data base is usally correct in finding who they are trying to look for. they can leave a message with your friends and family members, making it seem extremely important for them to have you call them back. what is very important is that they can not disclose your personal information if they do then you can sue the crap out of their company and the collector calling can get sued as well or fired. if you are getting calls from this number like i do simply answer the phone talk to them have them tell you all your personal info over the phone don't tell them first over the phone if it is correct simply state yes. this is very important, they should read minimaranda and call monitor discloser before going futrther in depth with the call if they don't then they will have a problem they just disclosed without protecting their selves and representing the company properly. they do nothing to you if you answer the phone to find out what is going on, and find that it is another bill/debt you can't pay right away. if you don't have it you simply don't have it. don't let them intimidate you, they are people just like us with bills and debt just like us. if they haven't done anything in a year they won't. they will tell you anything to make you pay and to make there budget. just know you don't have to pay right away. where 1 collector fails another will be there to try again.it sucks but it is the true. if you do end up paying purchase a prepaid debit card green dot i would prefer and set up payments that way they don't have access to your personal checking debit or checking account number. have them send you paying arrangements via email or fax or by mail. the faster you get proof of your debt and the company claiming to collect on behalf of the client the sooner you can stop the calls. :-) good luck

They called me today "Pueblo CO" with the same number. My dad picked up and they asked for me. So, I got on the phone.  The lady thanked me for being a good visa customer. She kept talking and talking. She said something about $6 for identity thefts. After 2 minutes she stopped to ask me my address. I said look I am not interested. I am already a victim of identity theft (which is true) and detectives are investigating. I am not allowed to accept any offer or open another account till they are done with it. If you send me packages, they will have to investigate you too. And she thanked me without any further questions and said "have a good day" :P Done. Scammers.

They called and asked for my credit card info, visa and master card.
These guys are scam artist. They may be sponsored by legislation since the gov can not do anything these days. Either they are inept or they are a part of the problem.

Yes, I got a phone call from this number, too.  I think it is a scam, probably just like those phone numbers in Michigan, area code 231 and 616 that were calling.  This one came in a few minutes ago and like most of you, didn't leave a message.  Getting annoying on my cell all the time!

call them back at 3 or 4 in the morning and tell them you want to sell them something.  It worked for me.

For the FBI or any other law enforcement people to do something they have to catch the caller.  That can be harder than it sounds.  Many scammers use US numbers but actually call from a foreign country.  Some governments don't take these crimes seriously and they don't cooperate with US law enforcement.

How can I stop this # an others from calling my cell. When I can no one says anything an they leave no voice mail.

I have been receiving calls from one number and when I block it I then receive a call from another number and when I block it the trend continues. This began about a week ago on a number that is unpublished and only given out to close friends. I don't use the number for anything else for the specific reason of not dealing with sh*t like this. I am hoping that after awhile whatever company purchased my number will decide that I am a waste of their time and money.

Called today and left no voicemail while I was at work.

RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER TO MY CELL NUMBER.  NO MESSAGE!!!!!!!!!

Received calls fron this number on Dec 20, 2009 and Dec 27, 2009.  I didn't answer the call, they didn't leave a message, an obvious giveaway that it's not legitimate.  I don't return missed calls like that.
