Anyone who calls or emails and tells you that they are giving away gift cards is a scammer.

I got pretty much the same text message but I just deleted it. After the .com there was another dot instead of a slash - clear signal the domain aint actually wal-mart, which means "scam".

Got one also. The phone number was from 206-734-5946. But note after the .com there is another period instead of a forward slash. That is the giveaway the domain name isn't actually "wamart" but "wallmart.com.myfreecard" and it's a .biz domain address, not a .com.

Yep, I got the same message, with five kids $1000.00 would have helped out. Why doesn't Walmart get involved to shut this down.

Ya i got the same thing just recently myself. luckily my computer has a virus protector or something cause I almost fell for it too. anyone know how to block these text messages?

This phone call came to our business from (570) 446-4272. Our computer converted it to a message on email. It had the same link and instructions as listed above by "Bo". I hope someone can track this down and end it!

I got a text that reads "You just won a free $1000 walmart gift card, enter "FREE" at http//www.walmart.com.myfreecard.biz/claim" I called the local Walmart. Surprise, surprise, surprise; it is a scam. People give their info on the website (Which gets diverted from Walmart's actual site and give these people permission to take the victim's money and possibly their ID.
May these people roast in hell. Too bad we can't put a bounty on their heads and hang 'em on a fence for everyone else to see.
