Caller said he was from AAST - fundraising for American Association of State Troopers. Wanted to send a pledge card and asked for my address. I figured that if they had my published phone number they also should have my address so I did not give out that info. I asked for a website and verified that it looked legit on the phone. When I told the caller that I could donate from the web site if I wanted he agreed and quickly hung up.

Called left no message

I got a phone call from 724-490-2161. I answered and just heard a beep.
After seeing here on this site that the number is used by the  American Association of State Troopers, I looked them up. Charity Navigator says they do not evaluate them as they do not say how they distribute their funds.  This is what I got by using Google and using "American Association of State Troopers" and "Charity Navigator".

So don't let these organizations pressure you into giving to them. There are many good charities which disclose their data. Check them out on Charity Navigator and see how they are evaluated.

Constant calls from this number (at least daily).  Answered once, very rude, threatening and demanding scammer!  Harrassment for sure!!

I thought when you dial that number to block telemarketers this would not happen anymore. Does anyone know what else you can do, I have about 3-4 calls a day from different numbers.

I just got the same call, I told them I was busy and to stop bothering me.

They are trying to get me to donate money. I told them I was busy, and couldn't talk because I was in the middle of something. Also told them I had an emergency at my house (flood...which is true), and couldn't afford anything at the moment. They said I could donate as little as $25. At that point, I just hung up!

Answered, no one there.  Think it's an autodialier w/ no attendant ready to take the call.  Don't have caller ID but *69'd and got the number.  Saw on another site it may be fundraising for PA cops.

Called number back rang about 10 times then message came on saying this is Statewide Appeal and that the call was of know urgency and you could leave a message and agent would get back to you. Real Strange never heard of this company

I was not able to answer phone when it rang. Checked it for a message when I could, none left. I checked the last number that called me and found this one.
