An unwanted call from this St. Petersburg FL VOIP number arrived today. When the answering machine picked up, a recorded message purported to be from AAA and requested a member satisfaction survey.
Posters report this is actually a company called Sterling Research, not AAA itself. Even if AAA outsources surveys to this company, why in the hell would they resort to robocalling to do this? AAA has the e-mail addresses of its customers and can solicit their views far more economically and reliably, instead of pissing off its customers with robocalls. Vexatious robocalling is a sure way to lose customers. It may have just lost me.

This is
DEFINITELY
a scam. I called AAA of SoCal to verify. Why on earth would AAA of SoCal call from Florida??? Block the number, report it to the FTC and sign up for nomorobo

They called and I answered. They asked for the owner (they had their names). When I told them they weren't in the office they hung up abruptly!

This number called a friend of mine on her cell phone. He said that she had been approved for a loan she applied for "a couple of weeks ago." He spoke with an Indian accent. She questioned him further, and his story became very convoluted when she asked for the specifics regarding her "personal loan application." She then hung up. SCAM!

2nd day in a row, they call and leave no message. This is starting to tick me off. Have some globes caller. If your not harassing me, then let me know why you are calling.

I might believe the AAA theory, but I haven't used roadside assistance since summer of last year (2013). So toss that out the window unless they are calling me about the DMV tags I got the other day when I went into the branch location.
If they are tracking me that close, it worries me. Also the fact that they won't leave a message is highly unlike an admirable company like AAA. I'd hate to see AAA going down the toilet with their morals like many other companies these days.

AAA survey
Triple A Survey 2014-05-19 18:25:29 Survey
Sterling Research Group on behalf of Triple A to do a Customer Service survey. It's legitimate as they gave the exact date that I called Triple A. Quick survey, standard questions about the Customer Service Representative who answered my call and the driver that came out to provide service.

THE best thing we ever did is to subscribe to nomorobo.com!!! It has stopped ALL of the calls. we are telling everyone of our friends to do this. they are wonderful. go on line and check it out. your phone carrier has to subscribe to them but most already do and you sign up for the service. they are the best thing that has come along in a long time.

Phone ID "OUT-OF-AREA" . Said it was a AAA satisfaction survey , but I did not answer it .
Although I do have AAA , Ive not had to use them recently and find no real reason for them to call . I would bet it is a scam thing , so I'll be blocking the number .

Quit calling and harrassing me!!

Customer satisfaction survey for AAA. Annoying and persistent. After a number of calls which I never answered, blocked the number but now get voice messages saying they "detected call answered by service" and will call again (I guess until I give in and do their stupid survey -! NOT)
I checked all the "do not contact me" boxes in my AAA membership so should not be getting these calls. Just called AAA to complain and the rep said she'll give it to her supe so my number is removed from the list. Time will tell if that happens.
liz 2014-03-15 00:17:13 Unknown
Its AAA auto club. Did you recently have roadside assistance? Its their customer service survey.
Susan 2014-02-28 02:34:51 Unknown
And they just called again, same day. No message.
Susan 2014-02-27 01:30:28 Unknown
I didn't pick up, but after reading all these comments, it would make sense if it was a follow up to my call to AAA yesterday, either by them or by a 3rd party calling for them. Either way- I don't pick up unless I recognize the number. If it's important they'll leave a message.

I star 67 the number...its a survey company who doesn't accept incoming calls according to the recorded message, and then it says "you may contact AAA Auto Insurance of Southern California to remove your name if you do not want future survey calls" bla bla bla.

This is NOT AAA! It is a scam. Don't call the number back; they will know they reached a valid phone number.
Tryingtohelp 2014-02-07 03:08:26 Unknown
No. Not AAA. Don't answer ANY calls from this number. They are known scammers or robo-dialers.
Try nomorobo.com. They will block this number and millions of other scammer robo-calls. I LOVE it.
Tryingtohelp 2014-02-07 03:02:19 Unknown
No. This is NOT AAA. They do not use an illegal robo-dialer to reach customers, nor do they call after 9:00 p.m.
Tryingtohelp 2014-02-07 03:00:27 Unknown
No. No it isn't. It is an illegal robo-dialer. Maybe you got the number wrong, but this isn't AAA.

Illegal Robo-caller. I love my call block; I LOVE MY CALL BLOCK! Try nomorobo.com. It's free and it works. Nomorobo blocked this call--just half-a-ring and done. I haven't figured out what's in it for them... but maybe it's just the satisfaction of stopping these dirt bags from continuously breaking the law and harassing innocent people in their homes. I LOVE my callblock! It only works on certain carriers, but it's worth checking out if you are being harassed by robo-dialers.

It is AAA and it is for a customer satisfaction survey. My daughter used their services on a trip last week, so it's legit.

Yes. This is AAA. I called them recently to reconfigure my automatic payment arrangements after being caught in the Target fiasco. This was a customer satisfaction survey call. Kind of a bother, but it's nice to know that they care about the quality of their service.
