I have gotten calls from Tedd E Bear" the last two weekends (7/21/07 & 7/28/07) from 727-835-0240.  I answered today and got a hang-up.

Very annoying.  Constantly calling.  I googled the number and the comments from others were all negative

The caller ID shows "NPR 727-835-0232"..  They never leave a message. Who are they and how do we make this stop?

I got a call at my home from 727-835-0234 and cell from 727-835-0232 all  in the space of 5 minutes; even after going to the "national" no-call registry and adding both my home & cell numbers.

Received a call from this number, identified as "New Port Richey."  Tried to call back to be put on their Do Not Call list, but reached only a "You have a dialed a number which cannot be reached" recording.  
Thanks to groups like these, we NEVER donate over the phone.

What is likely happening is that the call center or place they are calling from has several "out" numbers but is not setup for inbound calls, as previously stated it is the Florida Association of State Troopers soliciting for funds.  Much like the PBA  (Police Benevolent Associations)  these groups do not fall under the "do not call" registry.  The reason that you don't get an answer is that I believe the dialing system that they use will sometimes fail, or if an agent isn't available it keeps you on limbo hold.  My mom gets a call every few days  (Now under the FAST name, I believe they changed the Tedd E. Bear thing since it was causing great confusion)   from them and since we know who they are we don't pick up.

I am getting several calls, every day, usually in the morning. The number on my caller ID is 727-835-0220. Same deal as others are getting. I also called back, and got the same nonsense about the number being restricted, or something like that. This is really getting annoying. Something must be done. Maybe Channel 8 can help. Why don't we all try to do this so these calls stop. My caller ID does not show a name just the phone number. When you pick up, no one is there. Sometimes, the phone just rings once, sometimes 3 times, they hang up right before voice mail picks up.

I don't know who was calling, but later traced it to this number. I answer Pizza Hut, how may i help you. The guy said can I speak to your manager, and I repeated pizza hut and he hung up. This phone number is a scam.

I do not donate over the phone for any reason, ever.

I received this call at 10 a.m. on 04/18/2008.  I did not pick it up because I was busy.  They left no message, but the caller ID said the call was from "F.A.S.T." not TED.E.BEAR as other callers have seen.

Hi everyone - just pulled up this number on google. My ID only registered as Winter Haven. When I called it back it said it was a blocked number - I also have brighthouse. Any suggestions - the number on my caller id is 727 835 0213

Received a call from 904-483-3329. They call my fax line.  There should be a law against these people.

I have received many calls also except the area code for mine comes out of Jacksonville FL.
I called my phone company, they were no help and told me to *57 the number or call 1-888-966-6222 which is an Annoyance hotline she also said to turn it in to the BBB.
I called the FHP station in Jacksonville FL., explained the phone calls they knew nothing about TEDD E. BEAR and told me it sounded like a scam to them. I gave them the phone numbers; they also said that doesn?t sound like the numbers they use when contacting the public for donations.

Aug. 6 2007 I had a lengthy conversation with a young man calling from TEDD E. BEAR 1-904-483-3329 asking me to donate money for the cause; which is to buy Teddy Bears for the "Florida Highway Patrol or FL STA TROOPERS" to pass out at times when a child is involved in a traffic accident; I ask him to send me the paper work {as I?ve done before} I will then send a "Certified Bank Check" if this is legit.  
?Never? give out your credit card info or Pay with a check over the phone.

I have received at least 5 calls from this Tedd E. Bear (727-835-0210) over the past 2 weeks and of course I got the same thing everyone else is reporting, a hang up.  I also tried calling the number back to receive the same message as others, some restriction on my phone.  I called information and that had no information on the number so I call the Pasco Sherrif's Department (8-2-2007 9pm).  They took my information and offered no help to find out who it was only for me to put a trap on my phone.  Channel 8 should really get involved.

Found out who Tedd E Bear is...it's a FL state troopers campaign featuring the mascot, aptly named Tedd E. Bear. Mascot gives kids a positive image of law enforcement, promotes safety, etc. Go online http://www.fastinc.org/Directory.html

Do the state troopers know this campaign may be backfiring more than they know?  With a name like that and hanging up to boot...how obscene is that?  Funny thing is people are calling the sheriffs about this.

I'm reporting all from 727-835-0234 on 7/25/07.  This came to my home at 7pm tonight - after I found all the other people getting this from simliar numbers, it's appalling.  The Pinellas County Sheriff's Department told us tonight that it is a solicitor and NOT to answer the phone.  Typical response as they are taking this litely as usual.  Next step, News Channel 8 and we will throw the Sheriff's department as well as the kind, NOT, person who answered the phone there at 8:00pm on 7/25/06.  TMC

Same here. I tried reverse look up, but my get a warning on the website.  Phone info registered in Winter Haven.  Blocked it.

Me too.  This "name" has called 3-4 times over the past couple weeks.  The most recent was today (10:54am).    The thing is, it's coming from 727-835-0210.    Calling it back from my Brighthouse phone tells me that it's blocke or restricted (something like that).

Not sure what or who it is.
