I finally answered the phone today for a call showing 940-9413 on my caller ID. The solicitor started out friendly with his name (Randy or Andy) started his spiel "with the recent increase in your electric bill..." I asked what was the company he was calling from and had to ask him 3 times for the name because he spoke so fast. He said "Alternative Solutions" I asked him where his company was located, he said Central Florida. I asked him for the phone # and address for the company several times without getting an answer. He said you can pull up our info on the internet.  He kept evading my questions and said I guess you don't need our help. I told him I just wanted to be able to check out who I'm dealing with before I give him any of my information and asked him for the purpose of his call. He was calling to offer us a "Free Energy review" and kept asking me if our electric bills were more than $125 per month for more than 6 months out of the year. I told him again before I would give him any of my information I wanted to have the contact info for his company so I know who I'm dealing with. HE HUNG UP ME.

We have received NUMEROUS calls from 940-9413. They have never left a message on my answering machine. When I've called the # back, get a recording "not in service." I have caller ID, one time the # showed Tarpon Springs, all the other calls had a V with a sequence of #'s which I believe to be an automated dialer machine system and think I have deciphered some of these #s from previous calls and today's call on my ID - V9201429460 0898
1st 3 #s today's date 9/20 - next 4 #s 1429 (2:29pm) in military time for a time zone 3 hours earlier than mine EST ( 5:29pm) - next 4 #s I'm guessing is how many times the auto dialer made calls for a certain time frame  (460) and the last 4 digits I think may be the employee ID# for the person calling as that # has been the same for the last 6 calls for this month so far - 0898.

I have been on the National Do not call list since 2003 and have recently signed up for the FL DNC list as well

the caller ID I got was U9191033200896 for the same number.

Im getting sick of calls from this number there is never anyone there. I imagine could be scary to a elderly person.  Yes im on the dnc list :(

they call and tell you they can help with your rate increase on your electric bills - won't stop calling even when I use profound language!

I am STILL getting calls from this number, despite the fact that I added it to my BHN Call Blocking list. This leads me to believe that the perps are spoofing this number, and actually could be calling from anywhere. My BHN Call Blocking has never failed to block a call from a specific number before, so there is something else going on here.  I have now blocked the number via my phone hardware, so it rings only once when they phone, and then the call is drained automatically. If this does not discourage them, I will complain to BrightHouse, and both the Federal and State authorities.

just got a call from these scam artists that claim to be doing an energy assessment and wanted to schedule an appointment. I asked for the name of the company and the woman hung up. I called Duke energy (progress energy) and they confirmed it was not their vendor and was a fraudulent  call. She advised that they would investigate the matter.

I receive calls at least weekly from this number and they never leave a message, I called the number back and got a recorded message that the number was not in service.

I got a call yesterday from this number.  She said she represented "the electric company" and was going over my account.  I asked what the name of this electric company was and she repeated the same thing again.  So I again asked what the name of the company was.  Had to laugh at her response.  She was incensed and that when I learned how to answer my phone properly, she would call back.

I get calls from this number. I bought a phone that has call blocking on it. Unfortunately it can only store 20 numbers, so I always put the most active caller on the list. It has eventually stopped some of the habitual ones.

These idiots obviously don't get it when you ask them nicely to stop calling. Besides this being a SCAM, they are criminally harassing people on daily basis. Sue these a.holes! This is the only way they will learn.
If anyone can post a number for an attorney who is already working on these scumbags, it would be greatly appreciated.

When does this stop?! At this point this is a criminal harassment.

Got 2 calls from these crooks on July 23-24; did not answer (of course). This scam has been around forever- the "energy audit" leads to recommendations for new siding, or magic paint, or A-C duct refurbishment, or reduction of your asphalt-cobalt ratio, or........ Whatever it is, they'll take your money and either vanish, or do a horrible job with inferior materials and charge your 3X the normal price. Just don't pick up the phone, and report the call to the FTC, and the Florida Dept. of Consumer Affairs.

We are on the "Do Not Call" list and this number still calls 2-3 times a day, no one ever on the phone when you answer.

They called me but cannot answer questions about who they are.  They want to set up an energy 'audit' and then hard sell you some equipment.  Can't Florida do something about this type of scam?  Is there someone that will investigate or take action?  They must have some successes or they wouldn't continue.

These fools keep calling me but I do not answer private calls or calls, such as this one, that are from "UNKNOWN NAME".

Just received a call from this number, since it didn't have an ID, I didn't answer.

"Mary" says the name of her company is "New Energy Program" but will not tell me the company phone number or address.  I tell her that a legitimate company would have no problem providing that info and hang up.  I immediately get a call back from "John" who says they have an A+ rating with the BBB and have been in business for 20 years.  He also refuses to give me the company phone number or address.  I tell him that I'm on the Federal and Florida do-not-call lists and am filing a complaint.  I immediately get a call back from "Private Caller" who just says my name and address and hangs up, I suppose as some kind of threat.  I filed complaints with the Feds and the State of Florida.

They call a lot. If have the most energy efficient A/C unit you can buy. I have a super insulated attic. We don't have a hot water heater. The doors and windows are sealed. My house is super energy efficient. I don't need an energy audit. STOP CALLING ME!!!

Ricky called and wanted to set me up with a free energy audit - said he could save me 50%. Asked him where he got my phone number and he hung up.

they just called and i didnt answer it because the caller id was "v60315411000836 " so i obvi did not answer but when it wen't to my machine it made a really weird noise.

I get calls from this number at least 2 times a day . It states not available . Today I was home and answered the call.
I was told they were calling me to make me aware of an increase in my electric bill . When I asked the person who my electric provider was they could not answer. They told me this increase was for all customers in the state of Florida. I told them I was on the do not call list and please do not call here again. I can only guess they are trying to sell some sort of energy saving program or equipment.

I was surprised when the person was rude to my question about who this was. It's because they spoof the CallerID. Someone needs to go through with it to get the name of the company. They obviously are looking for gullible people. She said it was "about an Energy Audit".

Just got a call from this number....when the person on the other end started their "Good morning and how are you??" speech, I asked "who is this, please?" They said with a huffy voice 'Well never mind then if you are going to have an attitude like that." I said 'F&k you' and hung up. No idea what they were trying to sell.

No one is there when I answer.  If I am not at home - there message is a constant series of beep-beep-beep, etc. It goes on until it uses all my message space and no one else can leave a message.
