At last I know who they are. When I was in Mass. last week they were bothering the friend I was visiting. I also talked to them just to find out how on earth my warantee would be expiring on a brand new car. The person I talked to said that they must have had the wrong number and apologized. Not bad for a scam artist!!

I don't know how many time's I've been called about this crap. I get letters in my mail about extending my warranty and now they kill my phone at least once a day per number.

They've called me a million times lately. I pressed one since my car warranty was obviously expiring (according to them) and then the next thing I get is some woman asking me what model car I have. I told her, she should know, she just called me to tell me that my warranty expired. She gave some B.S> excuse and I just launched into her about how big of a scam it was, how I realize she's trying to steal peoples identities, how dumb does she think I am, blah blah... surprisingly, she stayed on the phone longer than I expected before hanging up on me.

I too got a call ON MY CELL PHONE from this number, during peak hours I might add. Luckily I didn't get the call and they left no voice mail. Since I don't know anyone in TN, I googled it like the rest of you. Glad I did.

Maybe there really is some little old lady sitting in a nursing home and thinking it's funny to send these calls out, but if it is like any other car warranty/free satellite scam out there...
-The caller ID info is spoofed/fake.
-There's no actual business service, they're data mining for personal info. (Credit card numbers, social security, etc.)
-Pressing 2, or talking to a representative to be removed from list won't do a damn thing.
-Filing a complaint with the FCC (fcc.gov) or FTC (ftc.gov) will probably not do a damn thing either since we're dealing with criminals instead of questionable advertising techniques, but it's worth a shot.
-Any information like a business name that a rep gives you will probably also be fake. Although the business may exist, they are probably just naming off a legitimate car warranty company who has nothing to do with the call you received. This is why you will probably be hung up on if you ask for a copy of the warranty first or to pay by check to their mailing address. They don't exist where they say they do, and can't hold the lie up long-term.
-Supposedly, sometimes you can tell them that you will need to call them back with your credit card information, and they will give you an actual number that belongs to the "company" to call back to. Worth a shot if they're on free minutes and you have some time to spare. The only way I know to risk nothing and get some real information about them, even if it's not much. Of course you should never give them any real information of yours either!
-If you did any business with this company, immediately call your credit card company or bank and dispute the charges, and post any information you can find about the company or any proprietors online. You may be the lucky few who get real information from these crooks.
Spread the word, there are probably innocent people who will now have crazies stalking their home or business because their name got caught up in this. Does anyone have any bright ideas about any of this? Seems to me like they will keep getting away with it.
