Received a call from this number at 8:45 p.m.  The caller asked for my roommate who was already in bed. I said so and asked who was calling. A man said Charlie Jewell and said that he would call tomorrow.  The caller ID listed PRIVATE NAME.
My roommate did not know a person of this name.

this number 740-532-5953 calls all the time. they will hang up as soon as i answer or it will be someone wanting donations or someone letting me know i won something. i am tired of this. how do we end the calls.

We have been receiving 3-4 calls a day from this number. I called it back and got an answering machine that said "sponsorship office".  There is never anyone on the line when I answer the phone.  I left a massage telling them to remove me immediately from their call base.  I doubt it will do any good!

I got a call yesterday from a man named Greg Brian. He was very belligerent and used profanity. He told me he was calling for the Police. But I find it hard to belive the police would act like that. There has to be a way to stop these guys!!!!

I get a call from this number every couple of days.  I say hello and after thirty seconds or so they hang up.  Upon trying to call the number I either get a busy signal or "message box full"  This is very disturbing.

I have received several calls from this number.  If I answer the call there is no response and the caller hangs up.  Yesterday the caller (male) asked to speak to my wife (gave correct name).  When my wife answered, caller hung up.  She called the number back and got a message box.

I recieved a call from  this number on 05/09/2008. It was a man claiming to be from the Kentucky State Police. He was soliciting donations for a fund for fallen officers in Kentucky. I told him that the number he was calling from has been associated with possible scams. He continued to try and get me to donate money. He explained that the office that they usually work out of was being renovated in Kentucky.

A man from this number called yesterday asking for Judith.  My husband asked who was calling and they hung up.  I googled the number and it is from Ironton, OH.  We don't know anyone from there.

this number keep calling and it rings twice and when i answer they hang up so i have already contacted the K,y Gov. it will be ending soon

This number keeps calling an elderly parent, will not say nything, just hangs up. Won't even leave a message. My wife called this number, and like the other comments, it just keeps ringing. I am an ex-private investigator, I will return to this site with an update.

I've been getting calls from this number several times a week, usually in the morning when I'm still asleep. They never say anything. Thanx, all of you, now I know who/what they are. The next time it happens, I'm going to tell them I looked them up on the web & I know they're scam artists looking for donations to bogus causes. Maybe that will convince them to move on & leave me alone! If not, does anyone know any place to report them, where some actual action would be taken? Thanx again, everyone! ;)

Continued daily calls from this number, asking for donations for various causes - currently asking for help finding missing children, previously asking for money for local KY police stations (they are located in Ohio!). Will not quit calling despite numerous requests. Filed a complaint with the do not call registry and anyone else that will listen! One caller left a disturbing message on the voicemail yelling my name.

Occasionally you do get to speak to someone from this number and usually they are asking for donations for various causes. Here's how to annoy them right back: Go ahead and make a pledge to donate (do not pay over the phone!!!) then when they send the payment coupon to you write a note on it telling them you're not sending any money and to stop calling and then mail it back to them. This works! They'll remove your number from their list.

Have gotten calls from this # everyday for last two weeks. All but one time it was 8:20 A.M. once it was 8:45 P.M. Only one time did they ask for my husband by name. Asked who was calling he said Jim from Community Trust.  Have hung up every other time.

HAVE RECEIVED THIS PH # MANY TIMES IN THE PAST 6 MTHS--TODAY AGAIN AT 3:25PM  01/09/2008.  THE CALLER JUST HANGS UP WHEN I STATE "HELLO", THIS IS BECOMING ANNOYING.  MY PARENTS ARE ELDERLY AND I AM WORRIED THIS IS A SCAM ARTIST, TOO.  I WILL NOTIFYING OUR KY.GOV WEBSITE OF THIS.

Got a call from this number. A Male voice asked for Cathrine. I advised him that he had the wrong number; he then hung up. So I Googled the number and found it to be possible scam artist.  I will be contacting the authorities.

A call came in about 10 minutes ago from that phone number.  When I said hello they waited about 30 seconds, said nothing and hung up.

Same people, although they've seemed to grow some smarts and block their number from caller ID as well as their names (I know it's them because who else calls my house from the same call center in the same call-pattern of 2 times a day for about a month once after noon, once around 7pm, 1 of 4 different voices, changing their name as reliably as the season: Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Firefighters, Kentucky Fraternal Order of Police, Kentucky Veterans, wash, rinse, repeat?).

I've called the number back and got an odd message about "Uh, the charity organization" calling me back if I leave a number. I didn't, they've already got it.. but I did informt ehm that I have contacted the Ohio and Kentucky Attorneys General, as well as the KSP (whom they were calling "on behalf of" this time).

For the record, from the KSP website: "Charities/Lottery: The Kentucky State Police will never call your home asking for money. If you have questions about a charity, you can call the Kentucky State Police to inquire about the legitimacy of that charity."

Indeed, the only charity they are running right now is for Trooper Island, I called and confirmed it.
