Tell me exactly what a SEMI-LEGITIMATE BUSINESS MEANS THEY ARE EITHER LEGITIMATE OR THEY ARE NOT!  THERE'S NO IN-BETWEEN

Yesterday (6/15/2012) out of no where we started receiving calls from random numbers that have invalid area codes. They started at 1:07pm and ended at 7:55pm. How do you get these to stop since they can't be reported because of the invalid area code?

I have been getting calls from spoofed caller ID's for the last several days all different numbers.

I never answer as I don't answer if I don't know who it is but these are all fake numbers. Well one has an area code for Atlanta but I tried to call and got nothing, didn't ring, nothing.

I have attempted to discuss the call I received from a person claiming to be selling air duct and carpet cleaning services on behalf of your company, Reliance Carpet Care Houston, LLC, for two weeks now. The Caller (on 12-1-2011) provided the street address on file with Harris County (Assumed Name Records), as well as the web site: ?relianceairduct.com?.

I discovered on the web at sites like ?800notes.com? hundreds of complaints about these calls, and was not surprised to see an ?F? rating with BBB of Dallas. This is simply NOT ACCEPTABLE. There are numerous federal and state statutes and regulations that guide the conduct of telemarketers, the least of which is that the Caller ID information must be accurate. In the case of your call, the phone number shown on the Caller ID is from a fictitious area code, making it a blatant violation of the Truth in Caller ID Act, which carries a $10,000 penalty per call.

Last week I spoke with a Mr. Tim Warren, who claimed to be the ?Dispatch Manager? here in the Houston area. He took my complaint regarding the call and said he would forward the information to his manager, Bobby Lindquist. I have yet to hear from anyone in your organization to resolve the complaint. He would not give me any other contact information.

Mr. Warren suggested that perhaps a competitor was spoofing these calls, taking advantage of your business name to set up appointments with unsuspecting homeowners. I find this scenario to be unlikely. The calls continue though, with five additional complaints on the web after my complaint call. I would think that if Mr. Warren?s claim was credible that an owner would have contacted me right away to learn as much as possible about this activity. Yet, I notice that Reliance Solutions International, which appears to be a call center based in the Philippines, shares the SAME LOGO as your Reliance Air Duct & Carpet Care organization. So it seems reasonable to conclude that your firm is making these calls.

I strongly suggest that you cease and desist immediately. There are legitimate ways to conduct business marketing, the easiest of which is to simply answer the phone during stated business hours. I have called from many different numbers throughout the business day and have only been connected with a live person one time.

If you wish to discuss this matter further my contact info is below and you should know one thing; if you think I will simply tire and fade away, allowing you to continue this conduct, you are mistaken.

Same number continues to call and thank goodness for caller ID as I never answer.  I hope all these complaints go to someone with authority to stop these people.  I'm not sure being on the no call list does any good.

I called the local number 832-300-0166 today, and spoke with the "Dispatch Manager" Tim Warren. He stated that:

-- He has never received a complaint call about the "746" marketing calls. Did not get my message left on Thursday evening.
-- They started in Dallas in Mar 2010 and began in Houston in October 2010. They have done 2500 individual services to date.
--The Technicians work exclusively for them six days a week and the vans & equipment are owned by the company not the Techs (with some exception)
--They are physically located at 350 N Sam Houston Pkwy E in Houston, Texas
--He is employed by the Houston LLC.

HIS EXPLANATION:
He explained that since they do not conduct any telemarketing it's "possible" that some unscrupulous carpet and air duct company is calling consumers, pretending to be with Reliance. He stated that they could then show up and do the work and "How would I know they are NOT with Reliance?".

I asked if he was aware of any circumstance where that had ever occurred, and he replied that he had interviewed Techs who claimed their former employers did just that thing. He apparently is involved in hiring personnel too.

Nice try, but I'm not buying it.

HIS OFFER:
To take my phone number and compare it to their marketing database to determine the source of the lead, That of course is of no value as the call never made it that far; the caller hung up before he could make me a lead.

ADDITIONAL:
--He reports to Bobby Lindquist who is the manager over both the Houston and Dallas Offices. He wouldn't give me a phone number for Bobby, but agreed to pass my complaint to him. I strongly urged him to have Bobby return my call.

--He has never heard of Glen Reading (Who appears on their BBB report)

--He has never met, and "doesn't personally know the owners".

Also asked for a local phone number and he refused. Wouldn't let me speak with a supervisor, then told me the supervisor said to go to their web site for any other questions.

All of these are potentially serious violations of the TCPA,Truth in Caller ID Act, and the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. I left phone messages at both the Houston & Dallas offices and no one has returned my call. I suggest taking a photo of the phone handset showing the false Caller ID info and making notes about the call. The telemarketers calling on behalf of John Mowrey and Nathan Mowrey  and MAY be affiliated with the Tom with Home Protection, home alarm dealers.

"Fishing" by Portfolio Recovery? An interesting thought. What leads you to draw this conclusion? How would that work? What's the angle? A fake call to identify an alleged debtor??

How do we get the DA to do something about this company.  I too am on the do not call list.  I get calls all hours or the day and night.  I'm done.

Just got a call. Told them off. U want to know how they get your info? Simple at&t ,Verizon and the like any phone comany have been outsourcing to India, Phillipines, Russia and so one. They have access to all of your information. Until we get so outraged and ask our politians to stop this it will only get worse. We are being sold out by large corporations who only want to make the. Millions and put Americans out of work. And a president,congress and the house that turn a blind eye. So let them know u won't stand for this.

I got a call from this number.  They hung up when I answered!

Just received call from them. Woman reading a script. Said they were going to be on my street next week. Wanted to give me 50% discount on services to clean air ducts AND clean carpets. While I was politely requesting she remove me from this list, she kept interrupting me. Then, asked me how many thermostats I had!  Weird!  Kept requesting removal from list. She got "testy". Tried asking her a third time but she kept refusing. Finally HUNG UP!  Hate doing that but 3x of being nice is all ya get with me.

Just called at 9:50 PM.  I don't answer unwanted or unknown calls.  I used to get calls from this numbers about every 2 months. Tieing some tails y found the info above.  I suspect this is a smoke curtain or undercover bussines linked to Portfolio Recovery Associates "fishing craps".

This SH.. person called but I did not pick it up. I called back but phone was engaged.
Someone should STOP these scoundrels disturbing others.

I am on the National Do Not Call list and these people call periodically.  I want this to stop.

this people do not know how to talk to customers, they are very arrogant and disrespectful.  the government should close this kind of company.

This number just called before 8:00 a.m. telling me I qualify for %50 off duct cleaning. I asked him if he knew what time it was!!! He said yes ma'am I do.....really?? My husband works nights and doesn't need calls like this waking him up. I told them to remove me from their list....he just hung up.

I don't know why they would think that this tactic would endear them to would-be customers. That just makes me want to cuss out any other telemarketer that calls me. They are wasting their time and mine.

If you have a land line that is being called, you can buy a Digitone call blocker, and it will block this number. I have one and it does block it. They get 8 seconds of silence, and then a disconnect. I don't even know that they called except for the read out on the Digitone. I found mine online for $100 at digitone.com

They call all the time.  No message and I never answer
