I think this is a debt collector. The lady left a voice mail with her name and a file number, and was looking for a former room mate that I had not had contact with in 20 years. Wow, this was 20 years, 3 addresses and 4 phone numbers ago. It's scary how much information they have on us and was able to make the connection

We received a call from this number yesterday.
Drunkenmimes 2011-05-26 19:32:50 Unknown
some of these that are giving you a number to call back at-DO NOT ever call the number. I've heard that these are commonly toll calls that will appear on your phone bill, for hundreds of dollars, and your phone company will not reverse the charges, which come from the Dominican Republic and other countries

I received two phone calls from this number this past week (both from a girl named Brittnee who spoke with a southern drawl). I let the phone go to voice mail both times, and was concerned when the caller did not leave a company. When I called the number back, I could not talk to an actual person unless I had their extension. I cross-referenced the number with Accelerated Financial Services, and it did not match the number on their site. Also, what company calls people from something other than a 1-800 number?? To add to my skepticism, the caller asked for me by my maiden name, and then proceeded to call my parents (who I haven't lived with in over 10 years), trying to locate me. How this caller obtained my parents phone number and my personal cell phone number, I do not know, but I hope this is solved soon.

This Ashley person called my mom at her home (at a number she'd only had for 3 days) and told her that I put her down as a reference number. I never do that to anyone without asking first. She also called my sister's job, her direct line to her desk and my other sister's cell phone number. I am suspecting that it may be some breach of my cell phone company, because that is where all those numbers are stored. And as my mom called to tell me about the call she received, Ashley's 757 number was coming up on call waiting on my cell....It bothers me how these people get these numbers after you've done everything to protect your personal information....

These people are calling my cell phone from Virginia. No one knows this number, so they must be using a computer and calling a list of programmed numbers. How can I get them to stop calling my cell phone?
Lois 2011-04-04 20:45:22 Unknown
Calls come to cell phone seldon used. Would like them to stop so I don't have to pay for the calls in case I answer the phone. I'm sure these people are not looking for me. Can I block this number?

A lady called my ex-husband from this number asking for me. He just got the new number and out of the blue this lady by the name of Sharay calls him asking for me. Me and him has been divorce for a while and have not spoken in two years. how did this come about. I don't know who this person is or what company she is calling for. If i don't owe you, don't be calling other people about me.

Someone named Britany called regard my cousin's file stating I was down as a reference. I haven't talked to my cousin in 10 years and I just moved her about a year ago. I am concerned that they had my home phone number.

where is the FTC or the Virginia Attorney General ..it looks like the calls originate at Atlantic Acquisitions Group LLC,6465 College Park Square , Suite 206, Virginia beach, VA 23464..maybe some one who lives in the area can drop by and see who is behind the curtain

I just called these fools back. They called several times like everyone here has mentioned, left messages on my home and cell phone. Stating they had an important file of mine. They keep asking for a different persons name not mine. I called them back and told them that this number and my home number are not associated with the name they are calling and she said she would remove my numbers from the list. I will reply to this if they call again to let everyone know if they keep their word or not.

This company sucks I just called the caller id phone number to ask who they were and they wouldn't even give me a company name so i called the person who left the messages, office line(haha) she gave me no info either and said that "it didn't sound like something her company would do" the no name and I said okay well can you tell me what your company does and what the name is normal things you need to know before you give any contact info right she was rude and hung up on me I am changing this number I got it over the summer and I keep getting debt collector calls and all these other weird texts and phone calls its crazy. i do not get why they don't tell you who they r if they want to know how you are?
annne 2011-03-17 14:17:41 Unknown
I continue to get calls from this number. First my house and now my cell phone. i do not have any debts now or ever. I have registered a complaint with the National Do Not Call Registry.
debt collector. 2011-03-17 01:10:05 Unknown
1st you can call the BBB to verify that they are a legit company 2. People who get the calls are Debtors and they didnt pay the money back. That is just like stealing if you pay your bills you wont get the calls. 3. Poor people go and get lines of credit and then dont pay them off.

This is what just happened to me a few minutes ago. They knew my name and said they had my number as an alternate contact for Leslie Lewis....I said I didn't know her, and then it dawned on me that she was the girl my first husband married after we got divorced probably 15 years ago. I probably didn't even have this phone number until 10 years ago.

Female named Victoria called left 5 messages about an important file on her desk. Company name sounded like Brinkman
Ms. T 2011-03-15 22:10:26 Unknown
Got the same message as everyone else. I have not ever answered, but they have left the same message 4 times. My voicemail is clearly female but they are asking for a man. I plan on calling my cell phone company to have the number blocked.
They have not identified themselves in any way, but after seeing all of this, it's clearly a scam.

Ashley called & left several messages on my cell phone. She the "file" just came over her desk and she needed to discuss it. I finally answered and she was trying to get in touch my mother and said my phone was an "alternate" number. She couldn't discuss it with me.
Tina 2011-03-14 20:53:29 Unknown
They did the same to me. They called my husband saying they had tried to reach me and they had never called me. We have had to deal with this before, we ended up going to a lawyer who told us those people can't do anything bc if they don't send you the "documents" they supposedly have (it's required by law that they do so) then you don't have to do anything.

Called my cell phone clearly registered to me, NOT Patricia Potter the ex-wife to my ex-husband, they divorced 20 years ago..... I called them back and told them to take my number off their list and requested their information to report the calls as harassment as I am not Patricia Potter, and the phone is registered to me.
Not me 2011-03-09 17:36:19 Unknown
I just got the same message that everyone else seems to be getting, which is a call for someone else that asks for a callback and gives a reference number. Looking at the previous posts this one is starting to sound kinda shady.
me 2011-03-09 00:30:44 Unknown
Called for someone else and asked to call back. Just sound bogus to me.

They just called my son on the other side of the country, said he was my contact and they needed my final statement.. They knew my phone number and address, but haven't made any attempt to contact me. Sounds like identity theft to me, or why wouldn't they just call ME instead of trying to get information from someone else?? Maybe because they know I wouldn't give out information?

A female from an apparent debt collection business has been calling my cell phone and leaving messages for "Dave Bushnell." (I am clearly female, not male.) I have a webpage at a professional website and had listed my cell number there (LinkedIn.com). Bad mistake. I looked up the name, "Dave Bushnell," and there are many to choose from, starting with a 'Dave Bushnell' who is President of his own company on the east coast. The area code this call comes in from is Virginia. So, Dave Bushnell, if you are reading this, you were very wrong to find a random number out in the professional LinkedIn.com world and submitting my number in place of yours. Shame on you!
