yep, they are total scammers!!!!! Do not call back or even answer your phone!! Terrible people, they should be shot! My husband is a cop and went after them.

I have had this number call my wife's phone and then mine, with the automated message saying this call is for "Insert name here" stating that "I have received a fax regarding your pending civil suit. If you would like to avoid being served at your home or place of employment, please call back to settle out of court." They had called me previously from 2 other numbers as well. One time they even switched it up and had a female automated recording voice. F^@&ng scammers. Eat $h!t and Die!

I have received in total 5 calls, which went to voicemail the 1st call said I had 2 fraudulent charges with my name and ss#, gave me a case number....the other calls are threatening to go to my work or home with a summons....I have not called them back. Always the same number calling but all recordings ends with you have been officially notified...This call is from a Belle Haven, have no idea what is going on....

This number keeps calling me and my family members as well as past employers threatening me through a recorded message. When calling back no one answers and says voicemail is full.

Wow, what a relief to know  I'm not alone in this B.S.  Until my attorney provided me with this information I thought it was legit, Capital One debt.  They are also using another phone number; 855-861-2259.  Best  wishes to you all and thaks for sharing your potential nightmares.  I hope they get those wicked a-- scammers.

I also received a call from this number threatening me about some money owed to a cc.  I have received 3 VM with the 3rd stating it was the last call before I would be summoned to court as I would be sued.  I did call back the first time and was greeted by a hello (just like shorty73) which was odd.  A collections agency would not answer the phone in that manner.  This can only be a fraudulent set up.  What was terrifying is they already had my SS#!  It's scary that nowadays practically anyone with the right connections can get their hands on any of your personal information.  I'm glad I'm not rich and having to worry who's gotten to my money!!!

If you were being sued, you wouldn't have a "subpoena" - which is used to compel the testimony of a witness or produce evidence.  The only "fraudulent activity" is on the part of your callers - they're scammers.

There is nothing to follow up - the callers are scammers.

Follow the steps in what you need to know. A legitimate debt collector agency should not have a problem with giving you a real business name and address you can google and verify via google street view, BBB etc.

pretty much the same as everybody else as far as the phone call goes however they are calling for my sister and she has been dead for 7 years.

This company called me and stated that I had fraudulent activity associated to my name and social security number they told me that they had two sopenia's for me and they wanted to try to settle this matter out of court..

Have gotten 2 calls from this number and the first time they call i didnt get to my phone on time so threy left a voice message which was not so nice. It was more like a threat that if i did not return their call i would be pressed with 2 charges against me in my county for c/c fraud and that they would go serve me with a warrant at my house and at work. Second call was 4 days later and again i didnt answer cause this time i was gonna see what else was gonna be left on my voice mail, no message was left so i returned the call and the person who answered the phone said "hello" when answering the phone. I said i was returning a call and if could she tell me where was i calling cause i had received 2 calls from that #. She said what was my phone number and i gave it to her. She put me on hold for 5 minutes and when she came back to the line she said the same thing that was left on my voicemail 4 days before. Charges agaist me on cc fraud. I hung up

I got another call from this number today. This time it was someone who was appointed to my case saying ive been summoned and I can call back to settle in court or settle out of cour. So I called the federal trade commision and filed a complaint

When I  returned call it was for a collection agency for Capital One.  They did have my name & gave me the last 4 numbers of my social.  Supposed credit card debt from 2000.  They were unable to provide me with a statement.  Told me it would be provided with suit papers.

How do you know this information for sure? Just curious.... I'm getting the same messages as well and unsure what to do.

Bad collector behavior is not merely "a scam". It's illegal and a violation of your rights, points we seemingly cannot stress enough. Try reading some of the items linked by Tamianth a mere 47 minutes before your post. It should not take long to replace fear with reason.

I got the same call on my cell phone, then a hour or so later -  the same number called my boyfriends cell phone too. he got the same message and it was about me. I'm worried cause that was really scary and my ex husband has left me with a few old debts in the past about 10 years ago, so it could be over that. do you guys really think this is a scam? HELP!

I got a call saying I had 2 charges filed on me in my county for forgery and something about my ss#. I would be served at my work or home. Gave me a case # if I wanted to call back . And I could talk to the legal dept. I called back and voice was full called again and got put on hold . I finally hung up. My husband said don't call back. I. Locked their #.

I got a call from this number leaving a message about fraudulent charges against me with my name and social security. They did not leave a name or callback number. I got the same message from 757-414-2217 that says that fraudulent charges had been made in my name and ss#. It does sounds like a scam since we all got the call saying the same thing and can't call them back or leave them a message.

I got the same call with the exact same message. I did not respond and everything was automated. I also received a call at 4am telling me someone was in trouble. I wished there was a way to block the calls, but when you they just call from another number.

I got a call from this # 757 414 2217 accused me of fraudulent charges for a capital one card in 2002, I ask  questions she was not able to answer them , she said she was calling from a   division of per trail process in Dallas TX and that I owe money to capital one said that someone from the Dallas division would serve me at my job, when I ask for still more information about this matter she tried to tell me she had  giving all she could give and if I wanted to make arrangements to paid I told her no. to give me a manager she hung up. I call back got another  lady who I believe was same person, and she hung again.  so call back this time got a man who said his name was Darrell king  he tried to get smooth talk me into making some kind of payment , I said no he said that I would be served that only way i could solve problem that I couldn,t talk to anyone. and after more  of my asking for information he   refused to talk anymore . I told him reason he had no infor was because he was lying and I hung up. I did post truthful
