First off, I am going to start this msg by saying that I work for this company and have off and on since August of 2001.  I have been there this time since June of 2005.  My name is April. I have 4 children of my own so I would never work for a company that would try to scam people out of their money!  All you people have to do is actually turn over the little piece of paper that you just put your information on and read it.  it takes 2 minutes of your life.  on the back of this entry form that you filled out states that yes we are timeshare, yes we will require 90 minutes of your time, yes as long as you qualify (all the boxes that you marked) that we will call you, it also states that there is a deposit of $75 that will be done by credit card and you receive it back on a visa gift card once you complete your tour. it also states on your entry form that you will be notified by phone from the hours of 8am - 10pm!!  now, for the things that you actually took your time to put on the entry form......
your name and address, most of you put your occupation, your spouses occupation, and your email address. then there are the boxes that you checked....your income, your age, marital status, what credit cards you use, and how many weeks you vacation a year.  after putting all of that info on a form wouldnt you want to read the small print?!?!

At no point when you are on the phone with the ICP (initial contact person) or the travel coordinator does anyone EVER say WIN, WON, FREE, OR CONGRATULATIONS!!!!  WE WOULD BE FIRED ON THE SPOT!!!!!!! we do say you are selected, and if you say that you won we even correct you!!!

for those of you that are saying we are a giant scam please take a step back, go to mcdonalds (we have boxes at most of them) and read the back of one of these forms!!!!  it is not our fault if you didnt listen to us when we say no cancelations or reschedules. it is not our fault if you say you qualify and then dont....
if we were a scam then there would be no way that we would be in business still since the early 1990's, we wouldnt have a A+ rating with the BBB (which we do by the way) nor would we (just the office i work in alone) have sent the resort over 7000 tours last year alone!!!!!
so, stop complaining and get over it...THANKS!!!!!!

HAHA you all file complaints with the FCC. And do undercover investigative work. And might i add enjoy yourself while doing it. Great Eastern Resorts is a legit company. Known for the largest resort on the East Coast. Massanutten. They've been around for 30 some odd years as long as i can remember, and all they do is call you because you filled out an entry form. Which states they can call you until reached and can call between the hours of 8am and 10pm. Dont want calls, dont fill out things. Easy as that. Might i add massanutten is beautiful, and to get a little free getaway for listening to somebody talk for 90 minutes is well worth it. :-)

Getting calls from 757-468-1402 that I ignored. They kept calling and I kept picking up and promptly hanging up; then I shut off my phone. When I turned it on 2 hours later there was this message: "Hello Kitty, this is Earl I am calling about the entry form that you filled out at the home town holiday. I'm holding on to your vacation, $50 towards your gas and tickets to our brand new water park. I'ts all good news Kitty but I can't help you unless I speak with you and I will be calling back tonight at 8 O'clock.....OK!

I just filed a complaint with the FCC about this company.
you can file a complaint with the FCC online.

I encourage everyone who is being harrassed by Great Eastern Resorts to file a complaint with the FCC.

I come from a media background, so this would be great undercover investigative story to bring this company down.

I received a phone call from 757-468-1402. They stopped calling for 5 months after I ignored their calls.
Then they started calling again.
I repeatedly told them to remove my name and number from their calling list, but the calls keep coming.

If I get a phone call from them again, I will report them to the FCC for harrassment and they'll be slapped with a fine.

Thanks for the address and name of this company. I will report them to the FCC if I get another phone call.

I did some research and found that 757-468-1402 is:
Great Eastern Resorts
7621 George Washington Mem Hwy
Yorktown, VA 23692 Map
(Found information from the yellow pages and called 757-874-6422 and the same receptionist answered from the 757-468-1402. She aslo said the same company name)

There is also a second number that they use, 757-874-6422. If you call them back to tell them to remove your number they will ask for you name and phone number. I would not give it to them. If they were a good company then they should be able to pull up your number on the computer, but they can't.

A rude 'representative' told me my form was selected. I told him I had no idea which form he was referring to and got upset at me. I hang up. Later I got a phone message telling me again my form was selected. I wonder if it is a legit price or a scam.

They don't have a computer system. They ask for name and phone number because its based on entry forms. They have to have that information and then gp through all the entry forms and then have it removed.

I got four or five last night, and a lady named Evelyn actually left me a message saying it was urgent that I call her back. My name had been drawn from a contest I entered at a local Metro Express pizza shop, and they had "all kinds of great things" there for me.

My phone was in my car all night (yep, I'm disorganized), and I called back this morning. The girl working the said the promotions people come in at 5 p.m. and leave at 10 p.m. I called back at 5 p.m. and was told Evelyn would call me back when she was available. She never did. I called again and was told Evelyn would be off the phone in a minute and would call right back. she never did. Now, here I am, about 30 minutes later.

It's a wierd thing. They must be scamming people all night long. Jerks.

We recieved a call from this phone number as well: 757-468-1402
They said we had won free vacations and said we would have to be on seperate lines. Also told us no speakerphone. Not sure why you have to do that. Very strange. The woman we were speaking to said there would be a $75 refundable fee (also very strange). She said the fee was so we wouldn't have to wait in any lines (like I said, strange... especially because it's a required fee before you get off of the phone with them, and the payment had to be over the phone, no checks). We said we weren't interested because it was starting to seem really fishy, and she got hostile. She said "What, you don't have $75?" in a what we precieved as a condescending tone. She started asking why we filled out the form at Papa John's if we didn't want the "free vacation". We told her it wasn't any of her business (politely) and she kept pressing the issue in a hostile tone. We asked another question and she hung up the phone. Oh, she also said that we could not call back because they do not accept call ins (earlier in the conversation) and that everything had to be completed right then on the phone or we would "lose out".
We called the number back after she hung up and got a very polite receptionist who explained the same thing they did, except she answered my question about the transportation (the answer is, you buy your own plane tickets and pay for all transportation).
I cannot state this for a fact, but I think it may be possible that you are transferred to a different number/location when you are transferred to the "Travel Coordinator". And perhaps that has something to do with why you have to be on seperate phone lines with multiple parties. But that is just personal speculation.

These guys are shady dealers and scammers and if you get a call from them file a 1088 Complaint with the FCC at https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do and if you are on the National Do Not Call List, file a Complaint at https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx.

If the government gets enough complaints from you, we can put these guys out of business.

i got a call from 757-468-1402 because i entered a contest at the auto show in NY, but the guy told me his name, and where he was calling from (vacation village resort in brookshire) he left a VM the first time and said i won a free vacation package and was entered to win a vacation home and $250K cash.

the second time he called and i picked up and gave me a code and asked for the person who i was going to take with me to be on the phone. i thought it was too good to be true, he said he's call back the following day s i'm going to wait and see what this thing is all about

I stupidly filled out one of their contest forms at Pizza Hut.  They called me three times in 2 hours.  The last call at 9:45 pm I picked up.  She would not tell me who they were or give me their phone number (of course I had it in caller ID).  She went on and on about the "vacation rental" I won and I had to ask her twice before she told me of the $75.00 "refundable" deposit, taxes and transportation cost.  She also asked me to pull out the paperwork I received at Pizza Hut about the resort.  I told her I've never heard of the resort and was not interested and to take me off the call list.  She quickly hung up after that, but I have a feeling that they will continue to call.  There's probably some loophole for being exempt from the do-not-call list since I filled out the contest form.

I'm also getting calls from 757-468-1402.  Same story as the rest of you.  I wonder if it has anything to do w/ a contest I entered at a recent "Animal/Pets Expo" here in Penna!??  I never learn, do I?
