This number rang me 10 times in the span of 2 minutes.They never left a message.  I was working at the time and my phone was in my lockup so I never heard the phone ringing. If I don't recognize a number I don't answer my phone anyway, but thanks to everyone for posting information. A couple of minutes later I also received a call from a number that was 760-266-4009, so I assume it's all the same operation,

I just got a call from this number, the women had possibly an eastern maybe Indian accent, she asked was this the_____ residence, I asked her who was she, she said " neighbor hood watch", I asked her where was she calling from, she said I believe Columbus OH. I said how can you be a neighbor hood watch person for me, I live in another state"? I told her that I don't give out personal information over the Phone and not to call my home anymore, she was very persistent, and, still wanted me to confirm who's residence she contacted, I hund up the Phone while she was still talking, I live in the Las Vegas Valley... This scam could be coming from anywhere, we just recently had our Phone service changed for about 2 weeks now

We just moved in a month ago.  We have had our home invaded while we were away several times and things taken.  Stuff we won't notice right away.

Today, we got a call from this number.  There was a guy with a thick accent, maybe Indian, maybe Phillipine.  Started out the conversation saying, "This is from your neighborhood crime watch, we have had a high incidence of crime in your zip code 93***.  We have an exclusive arrangement with your local telephone company, can you confirm that this is Mr. G****?  Can you confirm that your phone is connected and working properly?"  When we asked who this was again, he went through the entire speech again, asking for more information.  We asked where he was from.  He said, "we are headquartered in Ohio Columbus."  We asked. with which phone company did he have this exclusive arrangement with? He stumbled around and said, I have pages and pages of telephone companies here, and named, AT&T, Pacific Bell, Comcast.  He then said, "may I connect you with our security specialist."  We asked his number and how we could call him back.  He said he didn't think this would be possible, and would not confirm the number.  He hung up at that point. I got his number on my caller ID.  It was from Pahrump, Nevada.  I called it back, and the female voice answered with, "Is this the G**** residence?" and then went right back into her script.

Somehow someone knows when we are not at home when they come to rob us.  We have changed our locks and secured our windows.  We do not live in what is considered a high crime area, not yet. My conclusion is that this is a boileroom fraud operation staffed by illegals in Nevada, with some kind of scheme that uses lists of new residents obtained from the utilities. We are also retirement age, so there is a strong chance they are targeting gullible seniors.  I don't know what the fraud is, but I reported it to the FBI here, and the duty agent didn't know if they were going to investigate it or now.  Depends on his supervisor, he said.  I gave him the number.  They could call it and investigate it.  All they have to do is pick up their phone and call.  Don't know what is going on here.

This person called with a very thick indian sounding accent, male. Sounds like a scam, I flashed over to get the phone number by *69 while on hold. It said the last number to call your line was 7 then went to dial tone, odd never happened before. I have had my number for a week. I believe AT&T whom I have service through, has sold my number, in which I am reporting this to the BBB.

Got a call from Pahrump, NV. Said they had some "exclusive contract with our phone service provider". Immediately interrupted them, stated we are on the DO not call list and told them to remove the number. Hung up on them after telling them to never call back. Had a thick accent and barely understood what they were saying. The number is unlisted, and I don't know how they got it.

We had our home phone connected on 11 August 2009, less than two weeks ago. I have received numerous calls from this number as well as several other telemarketers. I registered on the Do Not Call list and can't wait for the 31 days to be up. This is SO FRUSTRATING!

Rule of thumb: DO NOT CALL THEM BACK! The purpose of the call is to determine if the number is working; and if so, it's used make long distance calls and the charges will appear on your bill. Returning their calls tells them that the telephone (or cellular) number is "live."

I think I have figured this out folks. It's not any of the phone companies that are at fault, it's the credit bureaus! When you sign up for service the phone company runs a credit report. Did you know that the credit bureaus are allowed to sell your public information which they put into what they call trigger lists? They can sell your name, address, phone number, but not things like your social. I believe that this is where all of these sales calls are coming from since people are reporting this happening within a few days of signing up for phone service, and every phone company has been represented. Pass this info on and check it out;

By the way, I know that the Caller ID said Nevada, not San Diego.

new number and have not been on the do not call list long enough to file a complaint.  But will as soon as I can.  Please if you are on the do not call list, file complaint after complaint against these unwanted telemarketers and maybe they will get the message via a huge fine, if this agency actually does anything.  Told previous callers from ADT to not call here so I guess this is their way around that.  I will never do business with them or any agencies after all these annoying calls

DING DONG! went thu my head that this call is a fraud... and the lady was trying so hard to get my info and address whch i did not give... then i told her if your from ADT how come you cant provide your exact address and your phone number is private and not 1-888 or 1-800.. after that she told me shell call some other day and talk to my mom... then after the conversation i files a complain to DNCL...

A person (male?) with a very thick (Indian?) accent called and wanted to talk about my home security.  Their first question was "Do you speak English?".  Being a native born US citizen I told him I did and that I was not interested in his "home security" and hung up.
