Got another call and picked up.  The female rep asked for [insert adult daughter's name].  I stated she hasn't lived here in 10 years and, of course, she wanted my daughter's current phone number and address and we went round and round -- if she can't give me any information than I can't give her any information.  I asked her to try Facebook and she said they couldn't do that -- they were professional!  I almost laughed.  I asked is it professional to harass the parents after 10 years?  IS THAT PROFESSIONAL?  And I know they will be calling for the next 10 years even if I cough up a new telephone number for them.

I've received a couple of voice messages from this number asking for location information for [insert adult daughter's name].  Wow!  Like I'd promptly call them back and give them every bit of information that they want!  Do people really give out their adult children's personal information when the caller can't even state what the call is about?  If someone random on the street asked you for your adult kids' address, obviously you wouldn't give it to them.  They know she doesn't live at home, otherwise they wouldn't be looking for "location information."  Mind numbing . . . ridiculous . . . annoying . . . waste of time.  They'd get further checking on Facebook.

I just had (760) 891-0777 call me too, I let it go to voicemail, and when I listened to it they didn't even use my name, they were looking for someone named "Christopher Moss."  I think it's strange that a California number would even be calling me since I don't even live in California.

Received calls for someone last name Ramos for more than a year.
Several months ago I returned call to inform that we were not the person they were referring to.
Person stated they would take our name off the list, but still receiving these calls.
There must be a way to block these calls.

You could start by reading what was already on the page before your comment. Making demands here won't do any good, and neither will local police. If you want the collector's behavior to change, you must confront that agency directly. ON PAPER, either demand debt validation or an end to communication as appropriate to your case.

I am not sure why I received this. I will not pay anything. I was told that they called my previous employer. Please stop calling me. I do and will call the police.
Please tell me other ways to handle this.

There's no law that says you have to communicate with a debt collector by phone. If you hang up on a debt collector there is nothing they can do about it. But, if the collector continues to call you repeatedly even after you have hung up on them, they are in violation of the FDCPA.

All you have to do to stop debt collectors from calling you is tell them that you prefer to communicate with them in writing. Written communication works in your favor because it gives you a record of everything that is said. If the debt collector violate the FDCPA, you have hard evidence that could lead to a lawsuit in your favor. Keep in mind that, by law, the debt collector does not have to honor this request.

The surest way to stop debt collectors from calling you is by sending what is known as a cease and desist letter. In the letter, state that the collector should cease and desist further communication with you. Note that the cease and desist letter only applies to debt collectors, not the original creditor.

I never post anything on websites such as this, but I decided that I'd make an exception for these guys. I'm not going to say they are a scam like a lot of people in debt claim. Money is probably owed. My mom is mentally ill and doesn't work.... HOWEVER, the people that work here are seriously the scum of the earth types. I told them not to call my number anymore and the guy started being rude and completely disrespectful and kept blabbing like an idiot and being a prick to me. I hung up and guess who calls back? I couldn't help but to laugh at the guy. It was too funny. The speed it took for him to go from zero to idiot was out of this world! lol. NO SIR, YOU ARE NOT SUING ME! THIS ISN'T TELE-COURT! HAHAHAHAHHA

Don't pay a dime to these a***oles. Tell them to shove their collection calls where the sun don't shine. They aren't going to sue you like they like to imply and even if they do, you still have options available such as Bankruptcy... the perfect way to start w/ a clean slate and a way to not pay these crooks a dime.

Anyway, I decided to do some skiptracing and I came across one of their "Sr. Negotiation Specialists" facebook accounts which is listed right below (copy and paste)

These are the kind of people that call you and try to sound official to scare you. They make it sound like you're being sued or as if you're about to be "served with court papers."

I have no idea why they are calling me. Both my cell and home numbers are on DO NOT CALL REGISTRY. I will report you to the FCC if this continues. I have no PROBLEMS reporting a company that has illegal practices. Further more the governement is bailing out you scam companies and NOT helping the actual people they need to help. Go to Washington DC to get paid. We eventually pay you one way or the other.

I have recived repeated calls from this number over the last two weeks and they are continuing. i am not answering these calls. I have no debts. I have no loans. Once someone (I suspect he was a criminal) used my phone number. That was over 10 years ago. Since then, I have been receiving calls from various collections agencies. The debt has been resold ....and resold......and it was...and it is a scam.  Just don't unswer the phone. If you do so by mistake, hang up!

This number calls at least 4 times a day.  They usually call within about 5-6 minutes of each call.  They leave a message to call with a fie number and that's it.  I've never gotten any paper documentation from them, but they call for some kind of collection??!!   Why??!!!  Can someone please help??

I just got a call today from them. The pre-recorded message gave a 1-800 number, which I couldn't write down fast enough, along with some file number. However, the 760 number listed above is what showed on my Caller ID screen. The name I did happen to catch that is associated with the 760/800 number is California Recovery.

Why they are calling me I have no idea. I will find out though.

Ok, just did a reverse call. It's for California Recovery Bureau. Oh the joys. Some people need to find other lines of work, not harassing people like this. The phone number (760 891 0777) does show on my Caller ID screen, the name (California Recovery Bureau)of the company does not display. It shows it as "Unknown Name."

I received an auto dialer call from this number. I have recently gotten a new cell phone number and I guess the former owner was a deadbeat because I have gotten a few calls from debt collectors.  Anyway, I called the number back and they confirmed that they are California Recovery Bureau. They were very nice and said they could take me out of their auto-dialer system. However, they couldn't find my number in the system.
