This number, 765.283.3498 is from Student Assistance Corp. If you have a student loan with Sallae Mae or another funding source, this is one of the numbers that will call when you are late. Unfortunately, they never update their list of contact numbers, so you may be getting calls for someone that USED to have that number or maybe someone that listed a bogus number.
They don't want to sell you anything, so you cannot put them on the "Do Not Call" list.

This number along with 866-640-5206 call starting at 8:15 AM (EST) and go into the evening.  They are looking for someone who does not live here but has an address.  They ask for info but will not say what they want...very aggrevating.  I have registered for the do not call list but apparently they ignore those rules

All of you that don't answer the calls, give phone to your kid, etc....IT'S YOUR CREDIT!!!!   You are only hurting yourself.  I talk to people daily that wish they had answered the phone earlier to get the situation straightened out.  If we are calling, we have a reason.  If it's a wrong number, let us know we will remove it.  I suggest you all read your promissory notes.  Some loans have special rules that can kick you back into repayment, even if you are still in school.  Fixing it is simple, but WE HAVE TO TALK TO YOU FIRST!!!!!  Avoiding the calls will not stop them.  It is done by an auto dialer,  and it can call legally from 8am to 9pm.  Most loans have options that can help you with whatever situation you are in, but again...WE HAVE TO TALK TO YOU FIRST!!!!

If it is not your debt - Fie a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It worked for me. Got a letter of apology from the company in hand and an assurance they would not call me again.

Whoever Told you that at Sallie Mae must be new....The company is USA Funds which is your GUARTOR on your loan. Who which made it possible for you to get the loan in the first place. And We DON'T need a court order to garnish your wages...You need to do a little more research...You"ll be one of the people calling us crying because your  taxes just got taken, But it"ll probably be too late to help you since you ignored all the calls....GOOD LUCK!

That is the DUMBEST thing I"ve ever heard....Just sit the phone down> Are you serious?  The calls are to stop you from DEFAUTING on YOUR loans, having you wages GARNISHED , or from having your TAXES SNATCHED!!!!!!....If you don"t have a loan then you may have been listed as a refernce for somebody that does. Just hanging up give US the idea that the # we"re calling is correct. All you have to do IN A NICE VOICE is simply tell the rep they have the wrong #.....IT'S THAT SIMPLE!!!

Dont listen to these people who are saying they will cut you a deal like forbearance ect. Its a lie. They offer no such things through them. All they want is their commission. They are not there to help you. If you want help you will have to call sallie mae. Only through sallie mae will you get offers of hardship ect. These f#$ks will kill you as soon as look at you. These people saying they are only there to help you are liars. They will use all kinds of tricks to extract money from you. But you cant get blood from a brick no matter how hard you squeeze. They cant take what you dont have,

1) Clark - you're a dumbass. Your loan still accrues interest and late fees while the deferment paperwork is being sent to you. Only when a student loan is IN deferment does it not accrue interest, and that's only on the subsidized amount of the loan. Otherwise, your loan still accrues interest even IN a deferment, and all that the deferment does is put off payments.

2) Wyatt - Do Not Call doesn't apply to collections, at least not on a student loan. The promissory note signed by the borrower entitles the lender to quite a few privileges, including but not limited to calling the number given, calling references and cosigner(s), and using skip trace tools such as Accurint to dig up information on a borrower who the lender has lost contact with. The lender is also allowed to license this data to 3rd party collections, in this case, SAC, a subsidiary of Sallie Mae. As such, calling your number, even if it's a wrong number, is perfectly legal because the call is being made in good faith with regards to the promissory note. If it's a wrong number and you politely verify the number dialed, it can be marked as a bad number. If you are the person they're trying to reach, then saying Do Not Call isn't going to work, nor will registering for a Do Not Call list.

They keep calling me and I just started high school. They only left me one voicemail. I answered once and the guy just said hello like 6 times. I'm thinking this could be a scam but that's just me. Any thoughts?

My caller ID says Sallie Mae.... asked for someone with my last name and my first initial and it appears they are searching... as I am listed in the phone book with only first initial....so I think it is another pain in the butt telemarketer.  She said she would remove my number but I will hide and watch... bet I get called again...

These idiots have been calling for over a month, at least 12 times a week. If they were legit, they would leave a voice mail. They are a call center. That probably means telemarketers. Two weeks ago, I asked them to take my name off their list and stop calling me. They called again today. When they couldn't give me any concrete information, I told them not to call again and to put whatever to me in writing. She said, "We'll just keep calling." They made me think perhaps they were legit so I started investigating this morning. THEY ARE NOT!! Do not give them any time nor any information. Ask them the questions. Write down the times they call. Report it has harrassment.

I work for the company called Student Assistance Corp. or SAC.
We are a subsidery of Sallie Mae, & a rep. for the guarentor USA Funds.
We do default management & prevention.
So if you have a federal student loan w/ any lender & it is backed by the guarentor USA Funds, my advise to you is to answer the phone.
We are trying to help you get loans current if cant make pymnts due to economic hardship. Or council you on the best option for you to get your federal student loans current.
Just like anyone, we dont want to give out #'s & addresses to a person trying to impose as yourself.
We pull up accnts by a tel, number that the computer (by the way) is calling.
Calls are computer generated. Most time's people hang up becuase there is no answer, but did you know there is a connect time. You may be on the line but takes aprox 2-3 sec's before we are connected to you! All anyone needs to do, is give the rep the # that the computer is dialing. Obviously... we already have it in the system, so if it's a wrong # it will keep calling until is marked bad. We do not have a do not call list. We simply just mark the # bad & go on! Maybe this will help to relieve some of you whom are perinoid about giving a # to pull up an accnt or help make our job easier to update your info in the system for your lenders. If you dont allow us to help you, DEFAULT on a FEDERAL loan is not the best thing to go through. Beside's if you hold a lic. for you line of work, it can be revoked. They can guarnish you wages, even other benefits. Also intercept your tax returns. So answer the next time we call. We just want to help you! Thank you & have a great day!
