i think its a bill collector they never leave a message

An automated female voice asks if you would like to speak to some about modify my mortgage.
Then the automated female voice asks if you would like to sue your lender.
Clearly a spoof number because area code 766 in invalid.

I called it back, it said the number was dialed wrong. Most likely a bill collector.

I got a call from this number and called it back and it said the call could not be completed as dialed. I also had an ad up on craigslist but I did not post my number. If they send me an interested email I send them my phone number. I will be aware when they call back that they are bogus

This is a standard mass marketing fraud which uses Craigslist along with other similar sites as a place to cull phone numbers. The only real solution unfortunately is to never post your personal number on an open forum such as Craigslist, instead give your number to an interested party when they have replied via Email. It's a hassle but it's really all one can do. The number that these scammers call from is called a spoof number and is usually not a real contact number nor is it linked back to them in any way. This is another reason these individuals are hard to catch let alone prosecute. At any given time there are thousands of programs scanning the web looking for phone numbers and the only way to protect yourself is to not post personal information on any site that's accessible to the public in general.

Just got a call from this number and they did not leave a message.  I also had a craigslist ad in the past month...hmmm I am seeing a pattern here.

They called again today (last time was back in September) and my number is on Craigslist as well.

Put your number on the registry to block telemarketers....that is what I finally had to do!  Lets see if this works!

no one will do anything.  if you post your number on CL, anyone can call you...just don't answer or use your phone options to block

probably computer calls to check idf the number is good and then they use it or sell it for later calls from other numbers

Thanks for the info, I too have a listing on Craig's list for a mobile home.  Hopefully reporting these calls will take care of it.

Ditto. Regular CL poster and DNC list member, just got the same call. Sounds like the FTC isn't going to be of much help with prosecuting them, but you'd think we would at least be able to shut the damn number down.

I too had a craigslist ad up in the past few weeks....likely culprit apparently....

I am on the national do not call list but still got an automated call from these people.   I am a craigslist advertiser.

Got a call from this number. they left an automated number that was cut off. Something about pending law suit.

Ugh! This number calls, although I have no idea why since I am not a homeowner and don't owe anything to bill collectors. Sounds like a scam.

I actually pressed 1 for more info just to check it out.  It rang and rang then said "thank you for your patience please continue to hold," after that it started ringing like I was calling some foreign country with that strange ring they use in Europe.  After that it went to voice mail.  Not sure why someone would advertise this way and not even pick up?

Yup- same here called and left a message without any talking.  Just blank.  I think they are getting my info from my ads on craigslist.
