I continue to receive unwanted calls from this group.

I've had the same call and they are extremely annoying and I told them they are harrassing me and I will report them.  Extremely rude people! I had to hang up on her.

Got the same call in southern Georgia from 678-294-9582. A robotic woman intent on rapidly asking questions that serve to make the sale. I had to forcefully stop her canned sales pitch to ask for the government website so I could review it and call back if interested. She said she didn't have it. As I hung up she continued yapping out excuses. A scam all the way.

It has been over a month now and they are still calling me every day. I either hang up right away or I just lay the phone down and let them talk. One time I listened, they finally mumbled something and hung up. They never get to talk to me anymore. You would think they get the message but they don't give up.
The call from them says : Cell Phone Ga 912-227-5663. Sometimes it's a gal , sometimes it's a guy.
There seems to be nothing we can do.
SO LET'S JUST ALL DO THE SAME THING THAT I DO. JUST HANG UP AS SOON AS THEY INDENTIFY THEMSELVES OR LAY DOWN THE PHONE.

After the guy couldn't make it the first time I left a message to say I cancel, thinking they propbably wouldn't listen to it. A few days later this gal called again just to verify my appointment with them. I said I left a message for you, but she ignored that, but I could tell they didn't listen to it. She wanted to make a new appointment with me, but I said I had an analysis made by my powerco, which I did myself on the website. There a certain rebates you can get from the government from the taxes, that's true, but you have to qualify, I didn't when I bought a new aircondition unit. That must be what they go by, they say you can get up to $3800.00.
She asked me what my average powerbill was, I said $148.00 , I don't know exactly if it's right but it is close. Then she resigned herself and said OkAY and said goodbye. That must be what they go by, it's not a complete scam, only that they do try to sell you windows etc, the program itself exists.
Something funny just happened, a guy just called me about the same thing again and he was really pushy, so I layed the phone down and waited until he finally hung up.

I got this call, too - several times.  I finally made an appointment and the guy showed up two hours late.

He walks around the house with some sort of meter and says I need new window doors and insulation and that he can sell it to me for $20,000 if I take out a loan.

I was so mad at him, I hit him over the head with the shovel I was holding and it split his head open. '

I got real nervous and was worried the neighbors would see.  So I buried him in the back yard and then drove his car out into the swamp and set it on fire.

Now I'm worried that the Police will find out.   It is against the law to kill a telemarketer?  Doesn't seem like it should be.  I mean, I'm not really sorry he's dead - are you?

Just kidding.   But that would be sweet, no?  I mean, it's not like they're human or anything - just Zombies or Replicants.  Can't  be against the law to kill that.

These idiots called twice - the stupid beatch on the phone just talks over you so fast you can't hear what she is saying.  I called her a "Bunt" or something that rhymes with that and hung up.

Weird thing - it says "Call out of area" - so I can't call-block it.  I call-block these idiots and also have my phone set to reject all calls that have caller-ID blocked (it plays a nice message saying if you want to call me, you'll have to unblock your caller ID block and call back).

But somehow they get around this with an "out of area" reading.

It is a shame that the DO NOT CALL registry doesn't work.  I've been getting more and more calls as of late.  

But one bonus - anyone who violates the DNC registry is clearly a con artists - just hang up!

This number called my house today (June 28th, 2011). This number has called numerous times and would not stop. I finally picked up this once, they introduced their company that they are working for as American Energy Reduction Group, and they explained their whole thing with saving energy and how they could help me stop it. I kept on saying that could they give me their number so I could call them back when my husband came home but they were very stubborn. The weird thing also is that they wanted both of us at home. Any reasons you guys could think of of why they want both of us there? We all have the same issue here and it would be SO thankful if i could get any suggestions? As of now my so called "appointment" isn't scheduled yet. but im sure that the next time these people call i'll give them a taste of their own medicine.

PS: Has any of you guys let them in your house? How did it go? Im thinking, not to well...

We have received at least 15 calls from the number above and also from 770 687-4876... all from American Energy Reduction Group.  We've asked them each time to remove our phone number from their list but they do not and continue to call at all times. This has been going on for at least 3 or 4 weeks.  They are extremely aggressive and always say they're not selling anything but are offering a free diagnostic service for energy conservation.  They have $3,600 free Government money for us.  I am adamant that we do not need or want any government money which are our tax dollars.  They have males and females calling constantly... every day.  Please put a stop to this harassment. I finally agreed to set an appointment to see what they were really about.  A guy showed up today at 1pm but would not conduct the test since I was not available.  He left immediately according to my husband.  Now tell me that they're not selling anything.

I recieved the same call - exact same scam!.

unabelle, I also called them back and left a threating message not to come to my house but he still arrived at the appointed time.  I'm sure they do not listen to the messages so be prepared that they probably will arrive at your house.  Just make sure you do not let them in.

I forgot to mention that the telephone number on caller ID was 239-297-7928 and not the "770" number mentioned.  I tried calling the "239" number and had a message saying,  "sorry the message box was full, call back later."

I was just cut off by a female solicitor from the American Energy Reduction Group giving me the exact same phony sales tactic.  She came up with the same  excuses in reference to money and not able to give a phone number.  I am so happy that I was able to use the internet to confirm my thoughts concerning this scam;  therefore giving other people a heads up.

Same experience as all above.  The fist call was from local Alpharetta cell number (one posted above) asked same questions.  We've recently bought a Short Sale home needing lots of repairs including  windows and doors.  Appointment was made for this Friday.  I told them to confirm because my husband would probably not be interested.  She started pressuring me to keep appt.   After I hung up I became suspicious and googled AMERICAN ENERGY REDUCTION GROUP and BAM! I find this site.

Got call today from 407-962-6145 to confirm tomorrows appt.  Told her glad she called & not to come.  I'm not interested.  This woman got really rude/forceful asking why.  Told her I looked them up and I think they are a scam.  She said "You can't look us up because we don't have a web site!!" (I was told this during the first phone call too).  Said I googled them and I'm not interested.  She got more indignant, talking faster etc. I said I was glad she called so they did not waste their time and gas...NOT INTERESTED.  She said something about me supporting oil and ruining the world blah blah blah.  At this point we were talking over each other.  Now my blood pressure is up!

We also just received a call from the same number. While on the phone with the solicitor, my husband Google searched the name they referenced as American Energy Reduction Group and we found the string of posts here. Thank goodness we did. The person was very pushy about getting an appointment for their representative and indicated they were currently working in Florida, Georgia and Texas. I asked what they expected to get out of this and the caller said it was already funded by the government. Of course, any such program would be highly publicized and there would be lots of information about it on government websites as well as other sites commenting on the effectiveness and validity of the program. None of this exists, so therefore this can only be a scam. Don't talk to these people and by all means, don't let them come to your house or give them any personal information.

Wireless caller 770.687.4876.  In addition to what others have said, I tried to get more info out of her.  Like where her company was based.  Licensing of the company.  She said her company was paid by alternative energy sources and I asked which ones.  She didn't know.  So I asked for her manager.  She replied "I'm the only one you're going to talk to."  I was arguing with her and she didn't move from her "what do you have to lose" line.  Not your normal telemarketer.  I can usually mess them up or get to a manager, but this gal drilled things in hard.  

My opinion: Highly experienced scam artists.

I received a phone call this morning as well from the American Energy Reduction Group.  They discussed how their program was free and how they would send a guy out to my house to give me tips on how to save money and how the government would give me $3800 in aid assistance.  She said I needed to make an appointment with one of their technicians but that it would only last 20 minutes.  She was extremely vague and kept reiterating this was "free" which is definitely a red flag for me.  The number she called from was a cellphone 678-367-8514.  She was somewhat pushy in wanting to schedule an appointment but I used the excuse like others did and said I needed to talk with my husband first.  I'm really glad I read all these entries and did a search about it.  My gut feeling is this is definitely a scam.

Did they come to your house? I scheduled an appointment in hopes of saving money on our electric bill, but now I wish I had hung up on them.

I received a call from them too, this time from Orlando. They were supposed to come today but did not show up. Later in the evening the lady called again and said the guy who was supposed to come had a slight traffic accident. Her # was 407-729-2389. Now they are supposed to come on Tuesday, but after I read these messages I called back ,I left a message saying I just realized we are having company, and don't send anybody, it's no use, don't send anybody. I don't know if the lady will get this message or not. I don't trust them either, hope I can avoid them, at least not let them into my house.

I just had this same call from the same number.  912-227-1868.   It is scary to think they have the phone number and can track the address

I just got the call from this American Energy Reduction Group. I was told it was not a sales call and I would not have to pay for anything. But the kicker was that they wanted to do an evaluation to help homeowners save on energy cost and if agreed we would be given $3,800! Yes really good money just to let someone come to my house. He asked about our light bill etc. and I in return began to ask questions and he then became very hostile like maam I only schedule appointments so which address should we send our guy to? I asked what is the website to your company and he was like we do not sell a product or any items so we do not hav a need for a website! The other thing I said well my husband and I are very particular about who we let in our home. He goes yes maam our technician wears a name badge! I am like really ... so then I said let me talk to my husband and I will call you back and I asked for a call back number and he goes we only have a few spots available so we really... and that is all I heard which was enough.. he then heard the dial tone! Times are hard and people are looking for ways for income but really saying a government program offering $3,800 rebates is one I never heard of and I have worked for the government and am very familiar with programs! Please be cautious...if it sounds too good to be true ...it is!  Oh yeah the phone number was 1-912-227-1868 call time 6:27 on June 22

I just got the call also.  I asked for a website and he said they didn't need one because they were not selling anything.  I also asked for a return phone number.  The guy said they didn't have a way for anyone to call back because they were just an outreach program.  Glad to see I'm not the only one suspicous of this "group".

Well I'll be damned, he did show up right at the appointed time!!!  My black lab beat me to the front gate and he was trying to call her "nice puppy".  Next time I won't feed her breakfast!!!  I told him I was not interested and to leave which he did.  I took some photos of him as he was leaving.  I'm sure he saw the flash on my camera.  I can't believe I let him get that far, I am not normally so stupid. I guess it was the high FPL bill I had just gotten.

I received a call from the ?American Energy Reduction Group? on June 16, 2011 (678) 591-1049. The lady began by saying, ?this is not a sales call? and went on to say that she works for the government and is offering free home energy audits as a public service. She asked how much my monthly bill was, but not the square footage of my home. This is when I became very suspicious. I drilled her with basic company questions that she was not able to answer. She stated that they did not need a website address and they could not be found on the internet. I informed her that all government agencies and contracted agencies would be internet searchable and part of public record. I then told her to find someone more gullible than I am and I hung up on her. I received another call from the same company on June 22, 2011 (678) 367-8514. I hung up on them. I tried calling both phone numbers back and both numbers go to an automated answer of ?Thank you for calling Verizon wireless. The Verizon customer you are calling is not available at this time.?

I received a call from the "American Energy Reduction Group". The number from today was 678-367-8514.

I received a call from 770-687-4876 vs 770-687-0206 from the same company (American Energy Reduction Group) on 6/21/11. Told them I would not be giving out any personal information and they advised they didnt need information that was personal.  I made an appointment for Wed, 6/22/11 @ 12:00 noon and no one showed up nor called to say they were running late (it is now 2:25 PM). After trying to call to find out why no one showed up, I get a verizon message saying "Welcome to Verizon Wireless. The verizon customer you are calling is unavailable, please call back).  Tried several times today to find out what was going on and get the same message.  The other # (770-687-0206) get message "I'm sorry, your call can not be completed as dialed, please check the number and call again".  After reading the messages on this site, I, too, think this is a scam and they will not be getting into my house.

This is very frightening that people can get your number but the number that shows on caller ID is invalid or no one answers the phone and no message can be left. I do know the person I spoke to said her name was Helen. These numbers will be blocked but I do know they will come up with more telephone numbers.

If any of these people can be brought to justice, please include me because these calls have to stop!

I have received 5 of those american energy reductions services calls.  have repeatedly asked to be removed and they said they are exempt.  I asked for a telephone number and a bosses name and they hung up.  Help!!

I also got a call from the same group but the phone # was 407 962-6145, which is also an Orlando number.  They are supposed to come this am but I'm sure they will not show up.  Will post if per chance they do.  I'm armed with a camera...... ha ha
