Fortunately, I converted my cell's answering service to Google Talk and now these calls are automatically blocked!  All they hear is 'the number you have dialed is no longer in service.'  Hahahaha. I am free now!

773-423-2053  Wants to speak to "the person who handles the Duke Energy bill".  If they had their resources correct, they would know that Duke Energy does not serve our area.  Told them there is no Duke Energy here and this is a DO NOT CALL #.  Have been getting the same type of call from different #s for months.

Three straight evenings this number calls but when I answer no one answers back

It is Sperian Engergy.  They called, informing me that I qualified for a rate reduction on my energy bill.  When I asked if this was a sales call, she said no - that it was purely informational.  When she was about to switch me to a "verification center", I asked if this was to switch my energy providers...She answered "yes, to qualify for the lower rate.."   So, I had to ask, "How is this not a sales call if you are drumming up business for your company??"  While she thought hard to answer, I hung up.

I got the same message about Duke listing them on my bill (they are not there). I agree if Duke is suggesting them Duke can call me.

I live in Ohio and got a call from them. Told them to stop calling me and she got an attitude and I hung up on her. I get these calls from different numbers all the time. They say Duke Energy suggest we do this. If Duke Energy is suggesting this service then Duke can call me or send me the information.

This caller was rude and argued with me (potential customer). He was trying to get me to switch to Sperian Energy from Duke. Claimed a 20% savings. He also said Sperian Energy was on my Duke bill but it is not. I have had many calls from this number and have asked to be removed. When I said I wasn't interested he started arguing with me. VERY Rude.

well i signed up for sperian energy and i think the promgram is great!! I saved alot of on this months bill!! A person called, said we were trying to apply some saving to your bill. He didnt get no personal info on me and new my adress. Im glad i took the time to listen to what he had to say, i continue to save money on eletric bill. 5 stars good job.

These are the same people who call under varied phone numbers and caller ids.
Some examples are : Illinois Call, Bill rebate and many many others.   They call at least twice a day if not more under many phone numbers (mostly 773 and 312) and many caller ids.
US Govt is looking for money(for technology) in order to stop these scams.

this caller just called me and said that they needed to talk to the person who is charge of the com ed bill.  If you need to scam people come up at least sounding believable.

Only says "Chicago" for the ID. No message.

Caller ID is very strange!

Called about my Ameren Electric account.  This is same company "name unknown" that sends me mailings about lowering my Ameren Electric Bill.  Have told them numberous times that my electric company is Eastern Illini Power Co-Op, and they tell me, "Sorry" we don't call their customers.

Where is the Government with the "Do Not Call" registry which I am registered with.  I have complained to them many times but nothing is happening-------I guess they are spending too much money on the Iraq campaign and in Afganistan, and helping the Illegals in the United States, and cannot afford the time and monies to track down and fine these Companies that bother us.  Maybe I should get a cell phone?

Recieved call. left no msg. Will be reporting to the FTC and the Illinois State Attoney General. Have been on the Do Not Call list for years.

It is Sperian Energy.  They are an electric company from a long list of companies you can choose from to get better rates than Com Ed.  Com Ed still handles the billing and "delivery", service etc, but these companies provide Com Ed with the energy source.  You can go to Com Ed's website to see the list of all the energy companies you can choose from and get a quote.  https://www.comed.com/customer-service/rates- ... ages/about.aspx

Call came in at 12:50 this afternoon.  ID said "unknown name" but I answered anyway (which I never do) because we're selling two cars and thought it might be a prospect.  When I answered there was about 6-7 seconds of dead air before a woman answered (loud chattering/noises in background -- call center?) and, without identifying herself or her company said, "I need to speak with the person that handles the ComEd bill."  I hung up immediately.

Received call.  No one on the line.  Caller ID stated call was from "Chicago"
