I love answering these calls.

I press '1' and get connected with the operator.

Name:  Paul Smith

After awhile they get the idea that I am bull*itting them and get pissed off.

If everyone did that and waste at least 2 minutes of their time, they would look for a better way to make money.

So, if you do get a call from this number, give them your name as Paul Smith.

These sleazeballs called me. I am forwarding this number to Homeland Security, and reporting this number as a terrorist activity. I thought this was a call from Atlanta, then a voice started telling me I had won a cruise in a contest. I know I had not entered any contests and I hung up. I am more than tired of these calls, as they are running up my cell phone bill. Again, I report these numbers to the FTC web site, and nothing is being done. That is why I am now reporting these numbers to Homeland Security. Maybe I can get some action to stop these calls by these turd eating monsters.

Got a call at 1:10 PM today on my cell.  Didn't recognize the number but thought I would answer anyway.  Male caller tried to tell me he represented three of the major cruise lines and I was eligible for a Bahama cruise.  I only needed to pay the taxes which were $94 pp/dbl occupancy which was a total of $188.00.  Cruises left from Miami or Port Canaveral and all expenses except the taxes were my responsibility.  Duh, ya think?  Total scam.  They were just trying to get my credit card information. Don't respond to the deal.

Received a call from this number.  Push #2 if you want to be removed from the list (yes, I am on DNCL) still got the agent who told me all about the "free" cruise that would cost me $94 per person in taxes.  When he asked if I was interested and I said no he promptly hung up on me.  Tried to call the # back, it says the # is not in service.  Serves me right for answering in the first place!

I got it yesterday, was on second line - did not take it.

I have two suggestions to substantially improve privacy protection of people living in the USA against unwelcomed phone calls in particular.

(1)It should be required by State & Federal Law that clear phone number and name of the company  calling for any telemarketing or soliciting purposes should be provided by the caller and displayed on the caller id of recipient, because now it is like ?name of the stete call?, ?unavailable?, ?unlisted?, ?unknown?, 'tool free number' etc. which is unacceptable.
CALLER ID SPOOFING SHOULD IBE ILLEGAL AND CONSIDERED FEDERAL CRIME.

Such implementation  will eliminate anonymity and irresponsible action on caller?s side.
It will simplify filing complains with FTC or State Attorney General by recipients of unwelcomed phone calls and bring extra Revenue in a form of fines imposed on callers by State.

Moreover, those phone numbers and clear name of the telemarketer/solicitor should be registered with special State online database with free on-line access by any person to conduct reverse phone lookup, because long name of the company may not fit into space allocated on caller id.

(2)When private person is calling to any company/organization and get pre-recorded message like ?This phone call can be monitored and recorded for such and such purposes? Law should automatically grants the same right to record such phone conversation and using for any future claims or/and legal actions to the caller for balance of rights of parties involved into communication. That will eliminate rude or unprofessional behavior of company representatives.

I hope you?ll find those suggestions reasonable and useful for any citizen of any State regardless of party affiliation.

If you support those suggestions, just copy them and send to your Federal & State Senators and Represenatives.

That will trigger actula changes.

Telemarketer
The DNCL is sold to companies outside the federal jurisdiction , like India, they have numbers forwarded to front numbers inside the united States of America to appear like they are from here. I put my number on the do not call list and promptly began getting one or two spam calls a day. The scammers buy this list because they knowthere will be a live bait at the other end, also read many telemarketers have better numbers with unsolicited calls. And also it saves
Money when otherwise they go thru every possible number in the areacode many are not valid so its a time saving expense. Just ask them for their credit card number tell them you are glad they called as you were just online xmas shopping for your twelve kids and as you are on welfare and dont have a credit card you need to use theirs and get their adress so you can send equivalent value in food stamps or blue chip stamps you found in your moms- rest her soul- attic after she died from a hagen dahz overdose... You tried to warn her but she wouldnt listen, so wheres your credit card number homey? If really bored record the call and post it on you tube under a picture of an indian dwarf dancin... You know that video rules!!!

Claims to be from "Travel Services" of Chicago, Il. Obviously fake identification; they would not answer repeated questions as to what exact name would appear on my billing statement. They claim you entered a contest and won a free cruise (I did not nor have I ever, so-called contests are scams of the highest order.) They claim to want just $94 for taxes and port fees. Time to file FCC and FTC complaints. I'm filing this under "Unknown" because I suspect this was an attempt at identity theft, hence the company's refusal to accurately identify themselves.
