I get at least one call per day from this number. I tried calling it back, but it says it is disconnected. I am on the Do Not Call List.
I also am getting calls from this at least twice a day (!)
Any information would be helpful
Call said that my St Vrain Valley Credit Union debit card had a billing error and I needed to press 1 to connect to their security dept to reactivate. I pressed 1 to see what would happen and the phone just went dead (I do not have such a card). I called the number back and it said it was disconnected.
I have been getting calls from this number daily but it only rings about a half a time. this has been
This number has been calling me 2 to 3 times a day for the past week or so. I answered it once and a woman said she was my credit counselor. When I said "Credit counselor for what company?" the line went dead. Like others have reported, I cannot call the number back without an operator saying the line has been disconnected.
NO ONE ANSWERED
BUT ID SHOWED NAME
They call 2/3 times a day and say "Thank you for calling IAB". I do not have a credit card or a house. How do I get them to stop.
Thanks for the posts. Just got a call from that number with name David Aldworth on ID. I tried to answer and computer just said, "good bye." Annoyance call.
I just got a call from this clown. Comes up same, David Aldworth 773-570-3255 (Chicago). It's just another scam....don't give them any info ever. I'm reporting it to my local phone company and anywhere else I can.
A call once a day. When I call the number it's no longer in service and belows to a David Aldworth.
Great advice and info, Joe. Thanks for the detailed post.
The caller leaves a message that says they are calling about 'your credit card account' and how you have a limited time only to get a great interest rate, or words to that effect. When I answered and asked WHAT credit card, they can't tell me. When pressed, they hang up.
On my caller ID it says call is from "David Aldworth' and that the # is 773 570 3255. I haven't tried to call that #, but others seem to say it is not a good number.
I got a call from this number saying they wanted to reduce the interest rate on my credit card. (Yeah, sure.) I asked which credit card and she said 'Your Visa or Master Card'. (Like 99% of us don't have one or the other.) I asked her to give me the last four digits from my card. (Like that was going to happen.) Her response "If you'll give me your Social Security number, I'd be happy to." I laughed, told her it was too bad she had to make a living that way and hung up.
I received a call from this number saying I had won a trip to Disney World. I hung up and blocked the number.
she called and left message which i could not make out
Received a call from this number for the first time today. They did not leave a message. I am on the "do not call list." Called the number back from a protected line and the message said that the number is no longer in service. Clearly someone trying to scam.
Answered but got recorded message saying they were from a law office and needed a call back right away about an urgent matter. Gave me a callback number of 877-856-6928. I don't have any urgent matters.
Getting calls from this number for days now. Some Indian sounding guy saying that he is from CVS and wanted to offer me medication. I got a call from 970-685-3925 who was the same guy from this number saying the same thing. Very annoying.
This # calls all the time, any time of day. IF we answer the phone (only to tell them to go to hell) there is nobody on the other end. The caller ID only says: Chicago, IL. I have no idea what company this is, who is calling or why. But they need to stop. We are also on the national and state "no call" list.
The national pandemic of telephone terrorism perpetrated by desperate criminal collection agencies is because they are trying to terrorize people who are naive enough to answer and submit to unsolicited telephone calls or written "collection" letters that have no legitimate legal debt associated with them or any of the companies, universities, or whomever else they claim to represent. Because most "little guys" were bankrupted by the criminal Wall St/Congress/Big Oil/Big Bankers/Big Business/Military/Robber Barons, so the desperate collection agencies are attempting to collect unpaid debts from innocent people by terrorizing them into submission.
Word of advice. NEVER answer any calls you don't recognize or are not expecting. Use selective call rejection service if available, or switch to an Internet-based telephone service which provides comprehensive call rejection options. If rogue calls become chronic, turn off all the ringers on all of your phones except one, and set its volume to the minimum setting. If you don't answer the call and the caller is legitimate, they will usually leave a voicemail after the first or second try. Rogue callers never leave voicemail messages because that could be used as evidence against them if it came to a lawsuit. If you receive a rogue letter in the mail warning you of some "collection" action against you, if you don't actually owe it, reply with a short letter stating that you don't owe it. Or if you do owe all or part of it, reply with something like "You claim I owe you a debt. Under §809 FDCPA, I request validation of this debt."
Only give them your name as THEY have written it to you (e.g. ?John Doe? not ?Jonathon Q. Doe? or however you normally sign your own name), address, and the account number they report. But if you do not owe the debt (zombie debt, aged debt, mistaken or stolen identity, forgery, etc.) state that you have never done any business with them or with the (alleged) original creditor of any kind and you expect the collection agency to close the matter, stop harassing you and take any bad credit marks they've caused off of your credit rating, and furthermore, that any further contact from them must be in writing on their official business correspondence letterhead. Send your letter to them a.s.a.p., always within thirty days, first class certified mail return receipt requested. If they refuse it and you get the letter back unopened, leave it unopened and save it in your files as evidence against them should they pursue legal action against you. If they did receive it and continue to pursue action against you, let them. The judge will throw it out of court. If the rogue collection agency sells your account to another rogue collection agency just tell them the claim has been proven invalid and offer to send them a copy of your letter to the previous rogue collection agency. Warn all your friends about this rash of desperate collection agency terrorism, and how to combat it. Knowledge is power. The more you learn how to combat rogue collection agencies, back-taxes scammers, phishing scammers, and other flimflammers, the more you will learn how easy it is to do.
Above all, keep a record of everything, of every rogue call w/ caller ID information displayed including time and day of each call. Maintain a complete file on any snail-mailed intimidation from rogue collection agencies, including copies of all correspondences and postal receipts. Reporting rogue calls on sites like
800notes.com, whocallsme.com, phoneowner.info is a great idea too, because many people find these sites by googling for the rogue number(s) after receiving calls from them.

(most say the above sample letter is too long and should be much shorter)

Only got the tail end of a recorded message: "...your final notice. Press 9 now to speak to a customer representative about lowering your interest rate."
Clearly a scam. Glad I Googled the number.
Called to sell me federal labor law, llc posters. Wouldn't answer questions like "Do you work for the federal government" directly so I hung up.
they keep trying to give me payday loans its totally a scam
Received a call from this number at 3:54pm 6/3/10, but no one was there...only a couple of "clicks".
I do live in Weld County, CO. I have received one automated call from this number and they told me that my card had been cancelled and then ask me to enter in my card number (like they wouldn't have that number if they had cancelled it). VERY scammish. I guess they think we're stupid.
Received recorded message on cell phone saying they were a credit card service and that my debit card had been suspended and to press 1 to reactivate the card. This scam has been going around in this area (Weld Co. CO) to many other cell phones. You are asked to enter your debit card # and info....there's your first clue.
Calling my 11-year-old on his mobile telling him that his Weld Cty debit card has been stolen. We do not live in Weld County Colorado, nor would he have a debit card at that age. This is happening about every hour.
These PIGS won't take no for answer. I have told them numerous times to take me off there list and I have No Interest in there product. I can't believe that these people can exist and they should have to pay a Hefty Fine for calling people that don't care. Why can't this recession take these people out and they can look for other work.
