The same place called me and threatened that I was going to be sent to jail.......

They keep changing their number.  I got a call from Steve Franklin at Christian Young Law Firm.  It's a cell phone number, this time it was from 773-819-2391.  He left me a nice threatening voice mail as well as a threatening voicemail on our general number at work.  Violations of FDCA all over the place.  YOu can't be arrested for debt.  Report these calls to  your state attorney general and the FTC.

It happened to me to and I called an attorney in my hometown as well as the loan place who had no idea about this issue....asked them why they were scamming and they hung up....so I called again...same thing....we reported it to attorney general as this scam has been goi g on for over a year. Looked up the number and its not an attorney place that's for sure

I got a call from this number who said "This is Katie Miller from the firm Christan Young and associates, I am required by law to contact you regarding 2 pending felony charges and let you know there is a pending arrest warrent attached to your case. I need you to call me back immediatley at 773-819-2404". Thank you all for the above comments, I will not return their calls.

total fraud of a company, an older lady by the name of Cassy Smith said there are some serious allegations against me.... and to call her back. (chicago number) I call her back and she says let me get the attorney on the line.. Some Sleazeball gets on the line and says he is the attorney but wont give his name. Says I have to warrants coming to me and if i have received the notice yet from my local police department.... I started laughing at him and told him he was a total fraud and he just hung up.. now they just send me to hold music when i call .... who falls for this kind of garbage?

Got a call from this number on my personal cell phone from a girl with an accent asking about my business.  I was very unhappy to receive such a call on my personal line and redirected her to my business line.  She called back on the business line and offered to set up an appointment with "on of our best agents" to discuss their company products.  She was talking about photo booth type stuff.  I figured that the followup call would come from the same number.  I was wrong.  It came from 661-748-0240 so it bypassed my blocked call settings.  The only reason that I knew they were connected is because of the scheduled appointment time and the "agent's" name Mike which was given to me by the girl.  He offered to run me through the list of products but I countered him with wanting to know how they got my personal cell phone number before he could get into his spiel.  He replied that it was posted on my webpage.  I told him that it was not posted on my webpage, that it had never been posted on my webpage, which is true.  He did not have an answer for that.  He again offered to run me through the products at which time I faked another incoming call.  I apologized for the "call" but he had hung up before I could.

This number calls several times a day. Does not leave messages. I do not want to call it back. Is there anyway to block this?>

In case you weren't aware:

Law Firms can be debt collectors.

Debt collectors are rarely law firms.

They may use tricky wording to make you think they are lawyers, such as "the Firm of Dewey, Cheatum, and Howe", which would NOT be a LAW firm.

Unless they state they are an attorney, are with a law firm, they are most likely NOT.

The best defense against these callers is to never answer an unknown out of your area code number, or a toll free number.

I simply add the number to a contact on my iPhone named "NUISANCE" with a silent ringtone.  My "NUISANCE" contact contains over 30 entries.

Now before you go all "pay your bills loser" on me, note that while a few of those are legitimate bills that I owe, the vast majority of them are SCAMMERS who have gotten my information, gotten wind of the fact that I owe a FEW bills, and are trying to extort me into forking over some money for a debt that I DO NOT OWE.

The ones you do owe, will identify themselves and who or what the debt is for.  The one's you don't owe are the one's who are elusive with you.

They started calling around 2 weeks ago from this number and they speak (asian english) I could'nt understand, but they ask for me (for my maiden name) what I don't use for a few years, and they asked me if I had a business, they gave me the name of the business what I had 6 years ago, and I close it with chamber of commerce in another state, they said I owe 8 thousand dollar to the credit card capital one, I never open an account with that bank and I don't have a credit card anyway, they asked me if I authorized anybody to open for the account, the account is under the business name (it is not under my name), they have my SSN, I got a little scared about that because they know everything about me. Please if someone know what to do, please make a comment in this page. Thanks in advance

It's a law firm out of Illinois that does debt collection. They called my work number about a debt that wasn't even mine.

I don't answer Unknown on my caller ID.  I always hit talk and immediately hit end. I can do this as long as they keep calling without identifying themselves. Don't get excited, it does take 3 seconds to end call.

I get calls from this number all the time, often later at night and early in the morning, including weekends.  I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize and they never leave a message so I don't know who they are, other than annoying.  I'm going to start taking extreme messures to make them stop calling by answering the phone when they call and blowing a whistle into the reciever.  I'm sick of all these calls.
