This number started calling my new number about 2 weeks after I got it hooked up! Asking me to come to their building and bring my I.D and wouldn't tell me why! They keep calling me up to 20 times a day! I used an app to block their number, that's harrasment. They threatened me saying they have info to my credit card! My $500 limit credit card because I am young! and been doing my taxes since my first job. F*** the systems, f*** this life.. f*** CBV !!

This number calls me 20 times a day. The never leave a message. And when i do awnser theres nothing but dead air.. complete silence. I call the number back and it says its CBV debt collectors. I do not awnser unknown numbers nor numbers i dont know. So theres no use in calling 20 times a day as it is classified as harassment. If theyd actully say something when i picked up mabey theyd get payments. But i already know why their after me and its for a ridiculous reason. I have fine credit. So these people saying my credit is bad and want money to make my debt go away.. its for a new company that has a terrible customer service department and that company is also scam artists. I spoke to my bank about my credit and if id be able to get a mortgage etc and they told me my credit is fine id be able to get a mortgage and a credit line. Bank also told me this company wont put any sort of damage in my credit rating.

This company also calls from 1-778-330-2283

This number called me 3 times this morning, starting at 7:17. She called me by my maiden name which I haven't used in 10 years, and told me that I have an outstanding balance with "Revenue Canada". So I was already suspicious. "Revenue Canada" has be "Canada Revenue Agency" for a few years now. I also know that they don't use 3rd party collections....It's the CRA, they just freeze your assets until you pay what you owe them. I do NOT owe the CRA a dime and I haven't had ANY notifications from CRA that say otherwise.
I called back to find out what it was. Got the rep that called me and she said she needed my information to tell me the information. She asked for my name and full date of birth to be able to verify who I was. When I wouldn't give it to her, she said that she wasn't able to go on with the call. I said, "Well, you called me so you must already have all my information" and she ended the call.

Total scam!

This is your lovely BC government MSP program tax dollars in great use by your proud liberal government who was just re-elected for another 4 years. Why can't BC do a none billing system like most of the other provinces instead of wasting tax dollars contracting a collections agency?

This is cbv collection agency. To stop the calls email them . State your name and phone number and tell them all communication is to be by mail.  Go to there website as they have three or four email addresses. After a day the calls should stop as they would be in volation of the law and can be charged with harassment.
privacy@cbvcollections.com

Ig they don't. Call them back ten times in arrow , and be hard nosed and tell them you will call them back 10 times for every call you receive. Don't give any other information not even you address or date of birth.

Calls 12 times a day for the last 3 days. We answered first and there was nothing; it sounded like a pocket dial. Never leaves a message. Have since, ignored the calls, and thinking of turning it into a drinking game.

I don't owe any money to anyone except my bank for my mortgage (which is always paid). Just started getting these calls (like 5 times a day) and its an automated machine as noted by others above asking me to hold on and wait for someone. Just in case I did an Equifax and there is nothing on my credit bureau either (in case someone did an identity theft). I totally regret signing up for the canadian do not call list. Now I get more calls than ever before.

Anyways I created a 'spam' contact and added this number to it along with all the 1800 ones..

thank you for all the comments. I am also receiving 20 plus  calls per day. It is most definitely a collection agency. Thank you for the advice about blocking the calls. They start calling about 6 am which pisses me off to no end. I have no obligation to pick up my phone unless I want to.

Just so everyone knows, & this will-p****off the collection agents: by Federal Law, a collection agency has the power to "Ask You to pay your bill and offer assistance in setting up a payment schedule" That is all.

1) they are never allowed to call you at your place of employment for any reason.
2) they can not, under any circumstances, harrass you into payment, by phone, mail or in person & they may not threaten you or your credit standing in any way.
3) You do not have to deal with a collection agency at any time. You are only obligated to deal with the original creditor, even if the agency has bought the account from them. You do not have to deal with them. 4) a collection agency can not put negative information on your credit file.
5) so in short... all they can do is "nicely" ask you to pay your bill. But we all know that they generally go way beyond that.

If you are having a problem with an agency, call the consumer bureau and report them and if it is a serious harassment issue, or call at your place of employment, contact the police and file charges. These are federal laws that they must follow, but most offen do not and will push it to the limit. Yes, several collectors have been fired and / or charged under these laws. Some even jailed. Their employers usually get a fine & tell the authorities they never asked the employee to do that, thus leaving the employee on their own to take the blame. True sharks in every way.
If you are having financial issues, & most people do at one point or another in their lives, call a credit counselling service in your area. They are a free service in every province and will assist you. Do not deal with collectors on your own. If you can not afford to pay, the service will understand & work with you, without any judgement toward you, and no credit bruising. The calls stop immediately.

This number is not a debt collector, and I'm not sure where that idea comes from. We've been called on our cell uncountable times, sometimes multiple times per day. We don't answer it because we use our cell only for emergencies and we do not give our number out except for emergency contact. We have also never had debt. This is some kind of junk number. As many have said, don't answer it.

This is the collection agency for BC health. BC health has a terrible business ethic. They racked up 7000 on my tab. I do not live in BC and have health care in my ome province. I lived in BC for years and notified them when I left. Thats the problem. BC health cannot seem to get it when you tell them you are leaving, tell them you left. This went on for years I a thought they finally got it. THen I got a bill for $7000 for the years I've been away. Finally got thru to someone at BC heath who actually looked it all up including my proof of health care in another province. They then decided I owe $2000 instead. This is BS too. BC Heath has their heads up their a** and this collection agency is even worse. Call everyday and a c omputer asks me to hold while they find someone to talk to me. Occasioanly a real person kicks in and they are terrible debt collectors. Same line every time "why dont you just make a payment and then work it out with BC Heath?". You see once you make a payment you legally accept the debt. They know this.

I am suing BC Health right now. We'll see how that turns out in about 2-3 years.

What amazes me is how terrible BC heatlh is at their jobs. Then just how terrible this collection agency is. They cant even phone properly. 99% of their calls are a computer who either says nothng or asks me to hold for "a business matter". No effort - no skill. Just nonsense. These people are a joke and the BC government is a hughe joke for having such messed up accounts. Who is minding the store? The East Indian mafia that really runs the province?

Yeah, these a******* started calling me about two weeks ago, and today and yesterday have called over ten times, including one call not long after 7:30am. I have no idea what possible outstanding debt I have so they definitely need someone to smack them around a few times. Even if I had debt this would be utterly ridiculous. I've probably had around 80 calls from them in two weeks. I'd tend to agree it's gotta classify as harassment alright.

These pieces of s*** need a punch in the face. They have been calling me all day every day for over a year now. I have had days where the call count is up to 21 in a day. They start at 8am and call until about 9pm. When I did answer and talk to someone (Yes, it is cbv collections), they wanted me to verify information for 6 YEARS ago to be able to access whatever they are calling me about. Literally, she told me that she could not tell me what they were calling about or give me access to the information without verifying an address I lived at for less than a year SIX YEARS AGO. I google mapped the address of the building but can not remember my apt # so she wouldnt tell me anything. With this, they STILL call me 20x a day.
If this is a legit government thing, how do they not have my up to date information?? I do my taxes on time every year. At the same time, I told them they'd best be taking my GST cheques because I am obviously not paying a debt I cant get access to!! But again, its been a year and Im still getting my cheques so now I dont even believe this is a legit company and I will not be paying them a penny. Stupid dumbasses, leave me alone, this HAS to be harassment at this point.
