they called us and my husband answered and when they started asking him questions he started shooting back answers to them like my kids are so stupid they don't go to school its a waste of time, we don't own a house dammit I like my camper just fine thank ya, and credit card heck I don't have no credit card  I got one of them there cards the government gave us with food and stuff on it but I but my cigs and booze on it too   hehehehe

Academyone learning is a waste of time and money. They trick you into buying the program and tell you that you can cancel it but in reality they made a contract stating that you can NEVER get your money back... stupid people. NEVER get it please BEAWARE and be very careful. its $10,000 its a lot of money and its going to a boring program that doesn't even help the kids learn it is all review and boring.

AcademyOne Learning is a fraud and a scam and is robbing you for your money! DO not get the program before reading the contract. READ THE CONTRACT CAREFULLY!

Academy One Learning is fraud company, sends its minion to your home and scams you out of money. then they get you to sign a loan for $10,000 for a education program online, which of course no one uses. they never tell you about the loan, and you find out much later, if you ever do. then you are stuck as they never return your calls or ever contact you again. they tell you to contact the loan company to pay the loan, and never ever care about the original education program.... beware...

someone was trying to give me a free flat screen and other electronics sounded like a scam hung up on him.

Had this number call me everyday for 3 weeks. I don't bother answering but it's annoying for sure.

I am suppose to be on the do not call list, so how did you get my number?

Company says they are World Security Systems and are offering free alarm system information. I have told them 4 times now to stop phoning, even threatening to call the police if they don't stop.

they call every day.  then when I don't answer they leave the phone off the hook at their end.  that makes my answering machine come on and the operator says please hang up a couple dozen times.  how annoying.  i'd sure like this stopped.

Just got a call from this fellow who was selling house alarms. He now knows more about my present house alarm arrangements than I want him to know. It smells like fraud.

It says "Brit. Columbia" on my caller id.  They are selling home security systems. I keep saying I'm not interested and they keep calling (they called about 5 times in 2 weeks).

This caller identified themselves as a security company. As others have mentioned, music plays at the start and it is a heavily accented woman tries to talk to you.

I just had a call from this person too - they asked about our security system so I told him my parents weren't home and blocked the number.

I just got a call from this number at my mothers house asking to speak to the owner of the house, when I ask who that was they just keep saying i want to talk to the owner of the phone, and that they are from a security company.

he was not very nice!

They are representing a repo company, or collection company or something.
I was dealing with a shister car dealer that was trying to take back a vehical from me and
Was getting calls from this number.  They would ask for me by name and then would hang up.

I live in Surrey also. I got the same call...

this no has phoned  me & I do not answer, phone them back and the line is busy every time,.
not good, whatever it is it is a scam..........

I'm glad i found this site because i thought maybe it was a friend calling, but not leaving a message. Thanks for the tip about the whistle.  I wonder how they get a CAD # (778), and yet they are calling from overseas?  Whoever the tel.company that gave them this number they should be contacted and harrassed back.  I thought of calling collect, but pretty sure that won't do anything. I might try to drag out the call the next time until they hang up, and they pay the for my time. Or, if it's Skype, we have no luck.

These people are scum of the earth! Had so many calls I was going crazy so when I saw the number I answered as a dispatcher with Vancouver Police. I kept it very professional and kept asking if they wanted police, fire or ambulance. They didn't know what to say. So I told them I had their number and because they were calling an emergency number as a bogus caller they would be contacted by police. They haven't called back. I win!

I was getting several calls everyday from this number. Told them to remove me from their call list yet they still continued to call. And the b*****ds are rude as hell. So now when they call I'm ready with a VERY VERY high pitched whistle which I proceed to blow into the phone till I turn blue. No doubt there are quite a few people at the other end of this number with hearing problems right about now.

A man speaking a heavily accented English (East-Indian?) said he called about out security alarm system and then asked: "You do have one, do you?" I told him it was none of his business and never to call again.

I had the same experience as msunderstd above. They called at supper time, when I answered I was put on hold and heard music. A lady answered, addressed me by name, and said she was from Academy One and was doing a survey on education in BC. She asked if there were children in the household (yes) and how were they doing in English, math, and science on a scale of 1 to 10. Then she asked if there were any subjects where they needed help (yes, of course). This started to get weird. Then she asked me what grades--that's when I said first of all, you already know my name and I'm unlisted. Second I don't give personal information to strangers. She said she needed to hand me over to a supervisor.

He was nice enough and called me by name again. When I asked who they were, he just said they were doing a survey on education. When I asked how they know my name, he said someone in the family must have signed up for a contest at the local mall (yeah right). Then he asked me the kid's grade and I said I don't give personal information. He said grades weren't t personal information but I begged to differ. He said thank you and hung up.

My suspicion is they are some kind of tutoring service looking to set up a follow-up call to sell a service. Pretty scummy approach though.

Answer at your peril. When anyone departs from a  "survey" and starts asking for personal information, end the conversation.

Who the heck are these people? They call every night! If the answering machine takes it, they never leave a message, and if you answer, they ask for someone who speaks English, when it sounds like THEY can barely speak it.

I live in Surrey BC, and I answered the phone today, a man in heavily accented English said he wanted to discuss leaf-guard gutters for my house. I told him I didn't need them, and to stop calling.
