Scam, preying on the elderly....report to the Real Police

Someone called from this #, he said FL Police Athelic club or something... and asked for a donation. He was so rude.

they called our business asking for the owner as well "about a local community event" they were having.  When I told him to stop calling he got very pissed off.

I keep getting annoying calls from a rude individual from the FLPAL organization.  The Florida Police Athletic League customer service (1-800-299-1895) has an automated DO NOT CALL function to help stop the harrassment

When I called it back it was a police organization in the state of Florida.  My guess is a fundraising thing :)

The man asked for someone who doesnt even own the phone anymore but still was very brazen and threatend the previous owner. Im very unnerved about the situation cuz now he has my number.

This is from a Remax agent. Left a message wanting to discuss the sale of my house. Don't know how he got my number but am going to file a complaint with the DoNotCall site.

These are scammers who claim to support the Police and solicit your donations. However, many transfer 10 cents or less on the dollar to the police while the rest goes to pay fat salaries. They are nothing but call mills and they call all 50 states claiming to support that state's police or state trooper. Perfectly legal method but run by low lives.  If you don't contribute they will insult you and reveal their ugly side

7 Aug 2011 Got a bogus $4.89 charge from CELLJOY.BIZ on my credit card, with this phone number listed 786-279-8951, FL.  I did not call the number because of the other postings of this subject. I think I may have been scammed during a bicycle rental on Mackinaw Island Michigan. I was required to leave my credit card number with the bicycle vendor, when I rented the bike,  and paid cash when I returned the bike. I have disputed the charge with my credit card company.

Called just a few minutes ago and asked for the owner I said I was the manager and could I help him he said I NEED THE OWNER AND THEN HUNG UP

called looking for owner....not avail and hung up...very rude caller.....

Got a bogus $4.89 charge from CELLJOY.BIZ on my 4 month old credit card, with this phone number listed 786-279-8951, FL.  I called that number and got a message (female with stong India or similar accent) saying they are not available at this time and to email support@celljoy.biz for questions.  They are scam charging credit cards.

I also got a mysterious charge on my card from celljoy.biz.  I have never heard of them.  I called the number and got some recording of a  non-english speaking asian chick trying to speak english saying something about sending them an email, I couldn't really understand what she was muttering.   I submitted a complaint with the FBI.

Hopefully these idiot get shutdown and/or deported.

I got a charge on my debit card with this phone # on it.  It says celljoy.biz out of Florida.

I have gotten many calls from a this "company" when I answered the man on the other line explained that he was calling for the "PAL" program (something to do with off duty cops and young teenagers), and asked if we would do a small donation.  when i told the man on the phone no thank you that we donate to the charities that we chose to already he got VERY rude and hung up on me.

Whoever this is calling and hanging up needs they a** cursed out. If this is a fundraiser ya a** is unorganized. STOP CALLIN ME!

"Steve" called at 5:30pm....wife answered phone and when she asked the nature of the call, he got coy and then rude.  She called out to me if I wanted to take it...I replied loudly, "it sounds like a courtesy call..." He got really rude and hung up.  More to come, I am sure....How do we get them to quit calling or better yet, get them off the phone lines altogether? !@$%@$%@#$^$%!!!

Jusy got a call and they asked for me by name. I said I wasn't in and can I take a message, they wouldn't leave a name. "It's ok, if she isn't there I'll call back" and hung up.

Recently calling frequently and asking for donations for police.  Told them that I do nothing by phone, that they can mail me the info and then I'll decide.  Not interested to do that.

i have no idea who this is calling. i have got this call like 2 or 3 times already and no one speaks. comes up on the caller id FLPAL. no clue what that it.

FLPAL keeps calling. According to the Sun-Sentinel this business states that they are calling for the Florida Highway Patrol.   As per an investigative report by this paper  the callers, or telemarketers, are asking for contributions for their cause.  The  Florida Highway Patrol stated that only a small percentage goes to them an this organization keep most of the contributions and pays their employees with it.  Florida is known for scams so beware.   Suggest  you  contact the Intenal Revenue Service an report this information to your local office.  If the IRS discovers some  inproprieties then  there is a possible  reward due to the the misappropriation of funds in the min of 10k.  Suggest you also report this  number to  the FCC.

I have received a call but nobody talked

The man called asking for (name) the apt. owners name. We are renting the apartment for a certain period.. I asked who from, he said from the Police department. to what caught my attention and i asked if he wanted to leave a messge, since that the person would not be home in sometime. But then he desperately wanted to hang up. Said "dont worry baby" which was a bit creepy for a telemarketer or a policeman so i obviously looked the phone up.. Scared my butt off for a second there thought i was being followed or something. Internet search says its a private landline in the north miami area, info from the whitepages.com and whowhere.com. Then i searched the police departments in the area, no such number. Consequently did a google on the number and this came up..God Bless America and God Bless the World WIde Web... Watch out for these fraudulent bastards

A guy identified himself as Gary Dimond and when questioned as to who he was he hung up. Smells to SCAM.
