Just got a call from them, too. My second.
The first time, I mistakenly believed it was an expected call from overseas, as I did not recognize the area code. So i picked it up. It was a fax.
So on this second occasion, I googled the number and discovered this site and that the whole thing is a sham. So on this occasion, I just let it ring. As I write this, it is still trying to "shake hands" with my fax.
It has disconnected and so am I. Thank you all!

automated message from Sandra from Card Services about "lower rates on your card." Press 9 to get them. Pressed 9, connected with an Indian speaker who hung up on my when I said they needed to remove my do-not-call number from their marketing list. Wish I knew enough tech to set up automated calls to them for a few days straight.

They probably use caller ID spoofing. A lot of the telemarketers do.

So far only one call. Didn't recognize the area code and couldn't find it in my book. Let the answering machine get it. Nothing. They left no message and hung up. it was today, 19JUL12 at 9:52 A.M.

An automated message started the call and asked me to press 9 to speak with a card member services rep. A male agent answered the phone. I said "this number is listed on the national do not call registry. Put my number on your do not call list!" He responded with, "why?" I said because I do not want call during the day from your company. He reponded "so we will call you at night." I said, "No I do not want calls from your company!" Again, he said "why?". I finally said, "because I do not do business with your company!" He said bye and hung up!

Pressed 9 to talk to a rep and said they were with Card Member Services. When asked how they got my number the male rep said, "you are wasting my time" and hung up on me. Nice.
