If this is really BB&T then why does caller id come up with unavailable.  I do not answer phone numbers that do not have a legit name in caller id.

I am sure BB and T would appreciate their employees referring to their customers as idiots. Wonder how you would fare on unemployment? Bet you would be receiving some collection calls. Perhaps you are working in the correct field as a collections agent as you are rude, obviously no training was needed for you.  Would love to know your real name as I would report you in an instant. I have copied your response here and may just send it in to BB and T and perhaps let them handle the "brainless" idiot who wrote it!

Someone with this attitude should NOT work in collections... I have been getting calls from BB&T.. yes, because a car payment is past due... but, my husband ran off with his girlfriend to another state and wiped our bank account in the process. In the divorce, he is supposed to make the payments on the car... He never pays on time. The loan is NOT in both our names and we ARE divorced.. I keep giving them his number... yet they still keep calling me at LEAST 5 times a day every time he is late..

Thank you for posting your message. I have been receiving these calls daily.
Of course I never give them any information. I just hang up.

I am a customer at the bank and I bank online. I know for a fact that I am up to date on everything. Since banks will always send you professionally printed notices of any past due accounts, I figure this has got to be a scam. It's unfortunate that con artists have become so good at what they do that savvy people are forced to trust no one.

Really? Never heard of this bank! But they call me all the time. They don't even have any correct information just my first and last name. So don't just assume that everyone who receives a call from BBT is doing so because they owe a debt.

Yet another wonderful spokesperson for this company.  Granted there is some decent advice for consumers here (e.g., warning about late fees accumulating), it is the overall tone of the post that is troubling.

My favorite "How much can you pay today?" --- must be bad when you have to practice your "talk offs" on line.

Oh, and to answer you question regarding how much I can pay today --- plenty!  Catch is, I'm sorry to inform you, not everyone in these threads here "owes" you.

Get a clue.  A "company" that doesn't give its name...just a phone number...doesn't send requests for payment through the mail along with legal documents to prove the debt...has idiots like you who troll sites such as this in an attempt to paint yourself in a better light...you can't be that stupid.  I stand corrected...you are that stupid.

You are so full of crap.  Companies such as the one you work for, buy junk or "zombie" debt.  You attempt to collect thousands on debt that may have been as little as 11 cents!  Yes, that's what I said, 11 cents.  You can read all about this and other "debt collections news at this site: http://abcnews.go.com/topics/news/issues/debt-collection.htm.
And if you'd really like to be proud of yourself go to this site and read about the man who set himself on fire because he was hounded by debt collectors for debt he couldn't pay after loosing his job.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-23247 ... loan-firms.html

As for your "promising career" perhaps you should think about an education.  Oh, wait, you'd have to borrow some money for tuition.  If you, like 66% of college graduates can't find a job after you graduate, you can get hounded by the next generation of debt collectors.  You're right.  You have a promising career.  Round and round we go.

This is absolutely unreal. The 800-222-1913 number is not a scam and you can actually locate it on BB&T's website. If it calls you it is only because you owe some sort of debt or they have the wrong number. I understand not wanting to give out personal information over the phone, but what is someone going to do with your address or name? That's public information in all honesty. You can ignore them, but I promise you that the fee's or late bills won't go away. Also, getting an attorney or lawyer is pointless when you have entered into a contract with BB&T that clearly states all consenting parties recognize that potential collection practices may be used in the event that your account goes past due or accumulates unpaid debts. And there's a reason almost every functioning company has a collections department - to collect debts. Associates who work in the branches do not have this sole responsibility and that is why very few to absolutely zero times will they personally call you to inform you that you haven't paid your bill. As hard as the economy is, the world keeps turning and in order for it to turn people/businesses need their money. Talk as much trash as you want about collectors but I work hard, pay my bills, treat every client like a friend, and have a promising future doing what I do. How much can you pay today?

I am deeply disappointed in YOUR employee responses to some of these threads and yes after reading one of them I sent a nasty response.  You people should be ashamed.  Not everyone is a "deadbeat" as YOUR employee claims.  S*** happens, life changes in an instant.  As I responded to his/her remarks I was only as nasty as they were.  To think we were considering changing from B OF A to your Bank....Glad as hell I did not.  You have several employee remarks on this page and all are nasty.  I'm nearly 50 years old and have worked hard my entire life and to see this s*** is just wrong!  How would you feel if you discovered you were dying and your only concern was to pay the debts you owe before you die?!  You certainly do not provide the incentive to do so.  I am still trying to work because you have to be completely unemployed in order to receive disability payments.  I've pushed myself hard, very hard to work and am only able to earn wages for roughly 10 to 12 hours a week.  I'm doing best I can and you will get your money.  But you can bet your a** If I somehow outlive what I'm suppose to, you people will not get any damn business from us!  You will hear from my lawyer.  # lousy days beyond the grace period doesn't give you the right to harass me every 20 minutes on the phone especially when I've sent you a check.  Not my fault one of your lazy a** employee's hasn't processed it yet!

I hope some day you have the occasion to be only 3 days late paying a bill.  For your info (a** face)  I'm not a dead beat.  I've worked all my life.  Just so happens that my health is failing and I am dying before age 50.  Priorities change when you find out you are dying.  I fully intend to pay my bill.  It will be paid in full.  Before you speak next time think about what the f*** you are saying.  If I'm only 3 days behind it should not warrant one of you a***oles calling me every 20 damn minutes for 3 straight days especially when I have already paid the bill!  I hope you sleep well at night because not everyone who is late is a dead beat.  The only reason we are struggling to pay bills is because the Government expects you to lose everything you own before they step in to help out.  I've paid into the system probably longer than you have been alive so just shut the f*** up!

The 866-877-9385 number is a BB&T automated collections number, which I might add is aggravating as all get out.  I have to make my payment on my payday which unfortunately this time is 11 days after the due date. However, the phone starts ringing just 4 days after the scheduled date is missed.  And continues ringing 2, 3, 4, 5 times a day despite the fact that you leave a message stating when you will be paying.

I will never again use BB&T for anything at all.  Ever.

I have been getting these calls, but don't pick them up. I actually do appreciate being called, because one time I was very late (I pay online and when Wachovia was switching to Wells Fargo, there was a mistake and the payment didn't process) they TOWED my car. I was furious, especially since the company that took my car damaged it. I asked BB&T why they did not simply call me, they claimed they couldn't reach me (I WAS on vacation, but still unlikely.) I have intentionally added more to my monthly payments since then just to be done with BB&T. At any rate, since then they have called when I am one day late (online payments take longer to process, and with the exception of that one time, I am always within the "grace period").

That said, I have no idea if this number is actually BB&T, because they never leave a message. And it is different from the numbers that have called in the past "reminding" me that I am late.

Today I made the final payment. Let's see how long it takes them to send me my title.
