Not a fraud...I've been a subscriber for 25 years

Lisa...Your situation sounds similar to mine. I subscribed for my 82 year old Mom for 1 year - that year was up in February this (2012) year. When I received the bill to renew for another year, I wrote CANCEL across the bill and sent it back to them - which was entirely legal for me to have done...

Be that as it is, these morons keep calling! They make threats, and one a-hole called my Mom a "deadbeat", and yet another used langauge I wouldn't repat here - that's the kind of people they employ...

I emailed the Editior of the LA Times and let that person know that I would not tolerate their "goons" using such strong arm tactics. I got an answer back in about 24 hours...

Maybe you should email the Editor too - it worked until today (Monday 4/24) when they called. I saw the number on our Caller ID, so I didn't answer. If they call again, I'll email the Editor again and rip 'em a new one...

LA Times -- Calls my job at least 4-6 times a day - never leaves a message -- thank goodness for caller id..

I placed a one time 8 week delivery and paid for it. But they would keep billing me even though they NEVER delivered any paper after my 8-week. They call at all hours in the day and night. Threatening me with collection calls.
I called and emailed today regarding this. It was clear their call center was in India. But the supervisor, Lyn, said she would contact distribution and resolve this. I will call again tomorrow.
This FRAUD and not any different from a bank robbery. How dare anyone think they can just BILL, HARRASS and THREATEN me unless I make a  payment for a service/product that was NEVER delivered.
Apparently they have been doing this for a long time. We need to get a news channel to run a article on this and expose them for the fraudulent company they are!!!

Do yourself a favor, CANCEL your LA TIMES subscription and never allow anyone you know subcrible. They are always harrass past customers by trying to get payment for papers they never delivered. After you cancell, the paper stop, but the billing continues and the harrassment and threats are non stop.
Its sickening. Someone needs to run an article about them in the paper or news. They have been doing this for a long time

Getting calls in the a.m. to my home and when I answer the phone it immediate hangs up.  No message, no sound, etc.  When I called the number after *67 I got the Los Angeles Times Customer Service recording.  I am a subscriber but have no idea why they would be calling me.

Keep calling my fax machine number.   LA Times.   Paper newspapers are obsolete.  I read LA Times online for free occasionally.

Call comes thru as unavailable. I dont answer those any more esp when from a toll free number. no msg of course

I received two calls today. "Mindy" stated she was calling from the L.A. Times and is offering to deliver the paper daily now (I currently receive it Thur-Sun) for no extra charge until my subscription expires. I did have to wait about 5 seconds for her to start talking on my cell phone, probably due to their automated dialing program. No big deal. We'll see if they change the delivery or not. Also need to monitor my credit card to see if they add an extra charge.

been calling me all day today!!!  2:14pm, 1:21pm, 12:41pm, 12:06pm, 10:56am, 10:13am, 9:23am!!!!  and it's just 2:18pm now.  

i signed up for LA times a while back but never read it, so i just canceled my account last week... they did offer me the paper for something like $10 for a year after i didn't go for the higher price... maybe it really is LA times maybe it's not, but i'm sick of ignoring their call.  and they never leave a voicemail!!!  but i'm NOT going to answer because that'll only cause them to keep calling the next poor person until he/she gives in.  ridiculous.

They claim to be from the LA Times. And are offering the Sunday LA Times for a year for $9.95. This must be a fraud.

No message left.  Calls my work phone once a day and never leaves a message.

They keep calling, I think it is the LA Times.  I never answer, but they probably want to sell a newspaper subscription. They call morning and night.
