Delta is the same scam company as Dynatek Industries Inc, only now the owner is Bill not Steve.  Sadly, I used to be an telemarketer for Dynatek Industries. The scripts we are forced to use are created for the sole purpose of deceiving a shipping employee or supervisor to verbally agree to have a complimentary catalog, Starbucks gift card, ((AND))
a "small" or "sample sized" box of tape sent to them (which is not complimentary). It an "impulse" purchase. However we never mention: the price, number of rolls shipped, or even the value of the gift card. Our scripts say they pre pay the shipping, but they
don't. There is no catalog either. I doubt they have been in business for 25 years, but they are celebrating their 25th anniversary every year. All the companies they are successful at scamming have one thing in common; human interaction. Companies that use
automated telephone management services are much harder to hit because its hard to get someone on the phone to verbally agree to something. Strategies I noticed companies used to defend themselves: THE BEST DEFENSE ARE SECRETARIES WHO DO NOT GIVE OUT: NAMES
OF EMPLOYEES AND THEIR EXTENSION #. A lot of their successful scams come from "call backs"- getting the name of someone in shipping and or their extension number, so that way when they call back it seems like they have established business with them. IE Dynatek
is their current supplies provider. Telemarketers can get that info from a secretary or when they forward them to a voice mail with that information on it. Secretaries that are not allowed to forward calls without a contact name, or give out personal information
gives their telemarketers a reason to hang up and call another company. Asking to take personal messages and the return number. Telemarketers don't have incall capability. General answering machines that forward the message to the correct department. -This
stops us dead in our tracks, we cant leave a message. Employees who send all catalog request information to a purchasing agent. Purchasing agents can usually smell the scam. Mention you cannot take a gift card, Our primary tool used for the impulse purchase.
You no longer use clear 2 inch packing tape. You are under contract with another provider. Companies that remember our name and immediately act negatively toward our call. So how did they get your number? They get their leads from business registries and ask
a secretary, operator, or registry directory to speak with your shipping department. You can annoy them by contacting- Customer Relations/ Shipping Manager/ Manager of the Telemarketing call center; Bill. (Bill is the guy who confirms a verbal agreement for
a shipment on voice recording) Bills personal contact info is: [removed] Im not proud of my time with Dynatek, talk about a bogus job. Dynatek goes through a lot of employees. I found the job on a craigslist posting.

Delta is mucho annoying. They take the name of whoever answers their call and they put it on the invoice without any kind of order being authorized by that person. Delta LIES about people ordering their stuff and then tries to extort money from the business.

Delta Shipping Supplies representatives ask for the name of whoever answers the call, then puts their name on the invoice as the person who authorized the order. They fail to mention to their victim that they are being punked for $500. I was cussed out by a Delta rep named Debbie for declining to give her my name. Scam aborted. But not all companies have policies about not giving out names. Delta uses social engineering to perpetrate their scam.

This isn't about victims not taking responsibility. This is about fraudulent business practices on the part of Delta Shipping Supplies.

If you need packing tape, there are far better ways to get it.

They do hang up on you, after cussing you out, if you don't give them what they want.

A few years ago: I wouldn't send a "Delta Shipping" rep to the shipping department due to company policy (callers must know the name of the person they're trying to reach). We went round and round, She demanded my name so she could report me for following instructions. Oooh, soooo scared now. She then told me I was "f*****g useless" and hung up on me.

They really, REALLY don't like people who stand up to their bullying tactics.

Unprofessional, foul mouthed, pushy, obnoxious, and under investigation by a few state's attorneys for unfair/misleading business practices.

Another one hung up on me today when I wouldn't transfer her to the department she wanted. Obnoxious, just like I have come to expect their reps to be. At least this one didn't cuss me out.

The are a bogus scam company with no legit website or catalog. They solicit to any underling in shipping room and tell them they are giving you a free gift then say we will send you a box of tape as well in which you assume its a box of 36 3m tape for 30 bucks like any normal packaging company. Turns out the gift was crap and the tape is cheap 25 cent roll that they will charge you a dollar for and charge you shipping. They charge you $500 for 96 rolls overpacked in thin cardboard and inflated shipping cost. Uline or your local packaging supplier will often do this for free. They do not disclose price on the phone but instead shock you with a bill. Other problem is they bill you more tax than you should be billed. DO NOT ANSWER OR JUST HANG UP WHEN THEY CALL!!!

These guys must be related to Dynatek Shipping Supplies.  It's the exact same call script, and the exact same scam.  I often come across posts that claim they change the name between the two.  Delta claims to be from Pasadena, CA and Dynatek claims to be from Encino, CA (only a half hour away.)

Also just searching for their name in Google brings up a ton of false praise postings on sites like MerchantCircle.  I've even written my own negative reviews on there and within a couple days there's a barrage of false positive reviews to push any negative ones off of the front pages.  Also notice how all the false praise posts on here are all from the same couple days.  That's a red flag right there.

Here's another hint: there are 2 types of posters on 800 notes and similar websites.  You get the people who are trying to either find out info about who keeps calling them or to share their own experience with being scammed.  And then you have the obvious shills who come on here and try to defend them, and act like legitimate customers.  You don't just stumble across these comment sections for numbers, or specifically search for the number to praise the company as a legitimate customer.

I got the same call from "Delta Supplies", but from a female.  She claimed to have actually come to my plant a couple of weeks before but that I wasn't available to see her at the time.  Then she said she'd send me a swiss army knife commemorating their umpteenth anniversary or something.  After that she said she'd like to "bill me out" a sample of their degreaser that was equivalent to mine.  I asked her how that could be when she never asked what type I needed, and that she could just send me a catalog instead.  She said she didn't need to know what type I needed because she knew her degreaser was the best.  When I told her I work in a food plant and have strict reg's to follow regarding solvents, she quickly ended the conversation.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I used to work for them for 2 weeks. I had to follow a strict script and they were trying to scam people. They normally ask for someone from the shipping and receiving dept and if your business doesnt have one, they'll talk to ANYONE. The script NEVER says anything about wanting to buy tape. It just simply confirms the shipping address and then gets the name of whoever they talk to and thats all they need. Then they ship off the tape- along with a bill for almost 500 bucks!!! I quit and then read all the bad reviews on bbb and everywhere else. Also, heres the trick. They get their leads from referenceusa.com so get off there and you won't get any calls :)

I used to work for delta, me and 4 of my friends actually. They're located in North Hollywood california right off the 101 freeway in front of North Hollywood Toyota. They're in the big US Bank offic building. They just have some dinky little office with a bunch of employees crammed in. They give you a call list and a phone, that's it, no computers or anything. They give you a script and tell you to follow it to the letter. The owner of the company told us his name is "Bob Smith" the fakest name i've ever heard. He said he used to sell appliances at Sears and eventually became their retail sales exec . . . yea right. The company is a complete scam. He has two "sales reps" that are girls that handle call backs and are very mean and rude, he also uses the girls for "other" reasons. All of us quit the first week in after we realized what's going on. DON'T BUY FROM THEM, they ARE A SCAM. This is comming straight from an ex-amployee!!! Oh and they cut employee wages without notifiying the employee as well. They usually work from 7:00am to 12:00pm.

Any time someone calls and wants the name of any of our purchasers, I tell them I don't give their name out per company policy.  I never transfer them to voice mail.  I tell them we buy all of our shipping supplies, computer supplies, maintenance supplies etc from local vendors.  I also am in Accounts Payable and I know who our vendors are.  Honest companies will never contact you in the manner described in these posts.  If they persist I tell them I will take a message, it goes in the trash.  They may try to intimidate you and ask for the president by name, big deal, I KNOW, he won't talk with them.  They cannot by law demand your name either. If they offer a free gift it is to use against you later on as blackmail.  If they send you something anyway, you can keep it as a free gift, you do not have to return it.  If they say they have a recording of someone ordering it, the proof is on them, they have to provide the recording and they won't because even if they do have a recording it's just some spliced together crap.  (A company called Institute of Business Publications tried to pull that on me, I called her bluff and never heard from her again).  There is a wealth of info on line about people like this.  I bet all those posters in CA that think they're so great are really Delta employees.

This sounds similar to the calls we receive... Guy calls selling something light bulbs, drain cleaner, etc... Says I'm gonna send you our catalog with our products and for taking the time to talk with me I'm gonna send you a swiss army knife, or a nice cooler for free. Ok cool! But wait! Just so you can try out our bulbs (or whatever it is there selling), I'm gonna send just a half a case to you. When I ask the guy how much the bulbs were he didn't have that info in front of him, Flag! So I tell him just to send me the catalog and my free gift and NOT the bulbs he said ok. Never got either one, Flag! My assoiate gets a similar call a few weeks later this time the guys has the price of the bulbs... $20 ea! We buy them at Lowes for $2.00 ea! Bad thing is whereever the call the number is blocked, the only thing we know is the drop the name "Delta"

The company I work for has received calls from Delta Shipping Supplies once or twice a month for the last 5 years. Everytime they call they say they are getting ready to send us their new catalog, and ask if we still order the box tape, everytime I tell them we've never ordered from them and they hang up on me. A new employee received the call one day, and all of a sudden a box of tape shows up with an invoice for $500. First of all these rolls of tape are half the size I order from another company, and double the cost; I get twice the length for half the cost. Not only is this a rip-off, but we didn't order these to begin with. They get your name and then claim they confirmed the order with 2 other people in the office, which isn't possible because there is only me and the other gal in the office, and I know I didn't confirm an order. This is a SCAM! We've told them we're not paying, and want to return it, and they keep trying to get money out of us for a "restocking fee", don't give them any of your information!!! They will probably steal your credit card info.

I have also received a box of tape in the past but as soon as i received it and realized what was goingon I packaged it right back up and returned to sender.  Since that time in December I receive a call every week from an employee of Delta trying to sell it to me again.  Every time I ask them to remove us from their list because we are not interested and everytime they say ok and then proceed to call over and over again.  It is a little aggrivating!

Our company just received 96 rolls of this tape along with one $5 Starbucks gift card.  The name on the invoice is an employee who does not order supplies for our company and has no recollection of having received a solicitation call.  After much discussion as to their policies and our ordering procedures I was issued an RMA #.  I also refuse to pay the shipping back to them.  They promised to fax me a UPS return label but I have not yet received it.  Were you responsible for the return shipping?

Delta Shipping Supplies called to offer free gifts with their 2" tape.  They claim to be sending out sample tape and catalog.  They verified shipping info and give confirmation number to us.  They have called us 2 days in a row and gave the same confirmation number each day, along with a free incentive gift.  The 3rd day they called to confirm the shipment and then for the first time, they mentioned the invoice for the packing tape that they will be sending.  This is very misleading and we don't want to be harrassed by them any longer.  We tried to return their call, but their phone rings busy.

A representative from Delta Shipping Supplies called and offered to send us a free sample of tape if we were to pay the shipping and handling.  Well the shipping and handling totaled 43.13 and we received 8 dozen boxes of tape, with a bill of 499.13 to follow. I placed a call to this company to try to resolve this a the representative was very rude and discourteous. This company is a SCAM with a capital S.

We are having the same problem, lil jon.

I am writing to my phone company rep for our business now, asking to block all numbers out of Pasadena, CA.
I'm using some of these numbers on this webpage to have blocked, too.

The company is a scam - they sent us tape after claiming that a guy named Rob ordered it.  We have never had a guy named Rob working for us.

Morons.  There's a special place in the afterlife for scammers.  Mostly for them wasting people's time.

If the company is such a great one with such fabulous customer service why didn't they happily take care of the problem?

After noticing the barrage of phony praise messages I decided to do a little due diligence on this outfit.

1 -

As another forum member pointed out, their BBB rating is as bad as it can get.

http://www.la.bbb.org/BusinessReport.aspx?CompanyID=100026187

2 -

I looked around for equivalent packing tape on the internet.  I had no trouble finding it for about 1/5 the price.

3 -

In the course of these endeavors I also found, on another complaint board, that a forum member had caught them posting phony messages on a variety of different message boards. The posts were exact duplicates except with different user names.  Apparently their tactic is to attempt to drown complaints by sheer force of numbers.  As always, once this type of activity is exposed it only does further damage to any residual credibility.

I own a shipping business, and it is standard refund policy that you have 30 days to return the product for a full refund. If not don't, then its your loss. You obvuously ordered it or it wouldnt have gotten to you. Look at your invoice, it says VERBAL ATTENTION TO: _________
If it wasnt you, it was someone you work with. You commented that the price is good, which it is. Just be careful about return policies. 30 Days is standard for any business. I know life can be distracting, but you cant procrastinate these things if youre not satisfied with the order.
