Yeah they keep calling me over and over, back to back, every time they leave a voicemail saying "10 minutes thank you"

Kept calling over and over leaving recorded message.  

This number is Apple Care. I set up an appointment online for a tech to call me. One called within a few minutes. I had just bought a new iPhone and was having trouble getting it set up. There is a way that scammers can use legitimate numbers. I read about it on this web site.

If this is Apple Care, why did I just get a phone call from this number from a woman who identified herself as being from Leading Edge Recovery Solutions?

3 calls from Apple number, no message. No way they would have my direct office line.

Caller ID = 800 Service  No message.  Caller blocked.

I just called this number thinking it was apple care. The tech who answered was in India. He was vaguely helpful, over solicitous , got into our computer remotely, then after 1/2 an hour called in his supervisor who advised us that our iPads were out of service (not true, both are less than a year old), and told us they can fix our problem, remotely, for $99.00. This didn't make sense and we said our goodbyes. We found the correct apple care number (800-my-apple), who told us they are only located either in the States, or in Canada, and that our experience was probably with scammers. Our problem was fixed quickly and we were not charged.
Beware (they use a program called I-Yogi).

my ipod touch is locked. it says its disablesd and i have to connet to itunes. well its plugged in to my laptop.. how can i get it fixed ?? :/  -Worried-

Its Apple Tech Support, the number spells out apl-care, its not a collection agency

my laptop just got shipped out and fixed .. which means it got cleaned out! i pressed sync on my movies and they got whipped off my ipod and are no longer on my computer, what should i do?!!

see that there is 800-APL-CARE in the number.  Call them, you get their menu.

AppleCare.  Not a collection agency.

um, 800-275-2273 is Apple/Mac tech support.  not a collection agency.

Leading Edge Recovery Solutions is another scumbag bottom feeder debt collector. They are exempt from the "Do Not Call" registry.

You did the right thing. I am also having to block calls from other bottom feeders as well. Here is what one consumer had to say about them on Bud Hibbs' website:

I started receiving calls from Leading Edge in May regarding an account. The calls continued until early June. Each time they called, they yelled, screamed and called me names. I was angry, but I remained calm while on the phone. First, they said they would garnish my wages, I told them that was against the law in Texas, then one time they said they'd come to my home to pick up a check, the last straw was the day they called me and when I returned their call it took me almost and hour to get through to them. They informed me that day, that they were going to call my mortgage company. At which point, I asked ot speak with a supervisor and told him, I have been recording your calls and you have broken the law so many times, that I'm going to file a lawsuit and hung up. I didn't hear from them for a couple of days and them they started calling again. I answered the phone and the collector started yelling on the phone. I calmly told him I was recording the call and his agency had already broken several laws. He then screamed, "that it was illegal for me to record the calls." I assured him it was not in the state of Texas as long as one party knew the call was being recorded. He got so upset, that he hung up on me. I have not heard anything from them since early June. I'm sure they are in the process of selling the debt. I fully expect to get another call from a collection agency in the future and I will continue to record the calls. Based on what I've read, they all break the law.

They asked me all sorts of questions when they called. They didn't have my name right and they wouldn't tell me the nature of their call unless I gave them info. They did say they were "Leading Edge" and it was private bussiness. I phoned back and they wouldn't tell me why they called. The woman said her name was Alisha Smith. I have now blocked them. I have been on the do not call list since it began so I assume it's illegal to get these calls.
