Memphis, TN - A partial voice message was left on my cell on Saturday night. The part audible stated, "... has been limited due to the high volume of fraud in recent weeks targeting our customers. To continue using your card, you will need to reactivate. Please press 1 to reactivate."
I ignored the call and used the option allowing me to hear the header (listened several times). The call was said to have come from 80715963. These are too few numbers if an area code is included and too many if an area code is not included. Another scam attempt.
I got a call about a Tennessee Federal Union card being cancelled. Same issue.... I don't have one. They ask you to enter the card number and all the security information. Sounded like fraud to me.
got it myself tonight. not sure what to do about it
Got a call saying my visa credit card had been cancelled and to press 1 to reinstate.
I too received the same call. "Your debit card is about to expire, press 1 to extend". This is some type of a scam.
the robo call said my Tempe Credit Union credit card was suspended---BUT I DO NOT HAVE A TEMPE CREDIT UNION CREDIT CARD!!!!
Got a call from 800-382-4357 regarding suspension of a credit card I don't have .... called the number back and got a fax machine .... gee what a surprise. Have reported it to County Sheriff and FTC Fraud unit. Can't these bimbos find anything better to do and why in hell's sake can't the legal system sentence them to an all expenses paid vacation to Somalia.
I just got the same robo call from "816-5960" (no area code, suspect it is a spoofed name and that the real number is something else), robotic female voice: "<something> credit union ... debit card suspended ... please press 1 to reactivate". After pressing 1 it asked for my account details, so I hung up. I'm in the 520 area code (Tucson), so they may be focussing here. Obviously this is a scam. Based on the other reports above it looks like this is starting to happen again after a break of 6 months. Don't give out your account details to unsolicited callers, especially automated systems!
I got a phone call from this number 816-5960 stating that my debit card was deactivaded to press 1 to reactivaded or 2 to speak to the security department. I hung up
Just got a phone call from 816-5960 (no area code) on my cell about something with my debit card. There have been errors and it is now blocked. Right...my bank does not have my cell number. Please. Plus it was almost midnight. Run from these calls!!!
I got this call today. As soon as they asked for an acct # I hung up. I was on my way to pick up my car from the shop and worried whether my debit card would work and if I'd be able to get my car back. I paid with my debit card and there was no problem. I called the bank and they checked everything out, saying nothing looked amiss.
It is an automated system that seems to be phishing numbers for account information, I have no idea how they got my number but it claims your card is deactivated and you need to reactivate it, then asks for you to enter your full account number and so on.
I received a robo call stating my bank card was deactivated and to press 1 and provide the card number. I called my credit union to complain and they have been receiving complaints about this scam. It's all a scam to obtain your bank information.
said my card was deactivated hold to talk to security department tried to call back, get a message that says the number is no longer in service. couldn't understand the name they tried to use but it was a bank i don't have an account with
Automated call telling me my Chase Freedom Visa card had been temporarily deactivated. It wanted me to enter my card number to reactivate the account. I called my bank immediately after and confirmed that Chase never makes phone calls like that. It was a scam.
I got the same message from the same number you listed...816-5960 with no area code. Actually had the exact same message. I figured it was a scam, so I called my bank immediately and they said my card is fine. Be careful out there!

I just received an automated message from 800-295-2096 and they let me know my credit union debit card was temporarly suspended. If I wanted to reactivate please enter your card number. I decided to enter a phoney number 2222 3333 4444 5555 and it said that this number was invalid. I could not get a person on the line. When I called back it sounded like a fax machine.
I got a call from 816-5960 (no area code), saying my debit card is deactivated. To reactivate to press 1. I pressed 1 and realized it may be a scam, so I hung up. Family members got similar calls from 800-295-2096 with the same trick.
The Elder Dan
They need "scam/fraud" as a Call Type category.
Same as others have reported - automated voice claiming to be "International Bank", stating that my debit card had been suspended, encouraging me to press 1 to connect to their "security department", where I no doubt would have been asked to input a card number.
I just got a call from this number with similar mesg I didn't pick it up but when i checked the mesg. this is what they say, somethingnot clear was deactivated and press 1 to activate it..... scam big time scam 8002952096
Got a call from this number and I do not even bank with the credit union. This number also called my land line saying the same thing. This is Minnequa works credit union and my debit/credit card has been taken out of service, please press 1 to recativate it!! WATCH OUT!!!
call came in and voice recording said my debit card had been cancelled. I have enough money in my account that it didn't make sense why it would be cancelled. I hung up.
H received call at 11:30 AM, I received call at 1:56pm. They told him his debit card was deactivated, mine was a missed call. I called the # back and it was busy.
I received a call from this phone number. They told me my card was deactivated and that I had to press 2 to reactivate it. I called the number back and it was a fax number.
I also received a call saying it was from a credit union in another town. deactivated debit card. press 1 to transfer to security department.
identity theft scam?
missed call. returned the call and got a fax ring. can you get me off their calling list?
It's a scam, they tell you your card has been deactivated and ask you to put in your card number and pin
Got a call at 7:46pm on Sept 9th stating my Southern Credit Union debt card had been deactivated and to press "1" to reactivate it. I hung up. We are on the "No Call List". We live in Georgia.
