Received a call asking for my son by name. He has not lived here for several years. The only way they could have gotten his name is from a credit card list. The guy would not identity himself and hung up on me. Apparently, the do not call list is useless.

asked for me specifically.  said they represented Vienam Veterans of Texas and asked for a donation.  I said I am already heavily involved and would give no money... asked again for a one time donation.
My advice... beware!  I smell a scam.

Called our office 4 times today - always asking for a different / generic name:  "Bob", "Roy", "John".  When we say no one here by that name, they apologize for calling the wrong number and hang up.  Something is super fishy.

The guy that calls here several times every day leaves a sniff on the answering machine. One day I picked up the phone and blew a whistle into it. The next call was from name unknown and quickly hung up when the answering machine picked up. Then the other number he uses did the same thing. Now he's back to this number again. He knows I'm not going to answer - he just likes to sniff at me. Any way we can sick the law on these people?

That number cals me at least 4-5 or 6 times a day...by now almost all of those Vietnam Veterans are on federal aide programmes,SSI,Veterans benefit programmes,etc.Why try and SCAM the public now ? The War has been over for 33 years.Soon I guess we'll be receiving calLs for the Iraq-Afganistan Veterans asking for money.At least we're not getting calls asking for money for the Veterans of the Spanish American War. My Late father was one of the first squad of GI's in the Fourth Corps that broke down the Gate at Buchenwald,Germany and were the first GI'sto go into that dreadful place.

This is the 3rd day in a row I called this number back and told them to take me off their calling list.  I usually do not answer when they call, but today I did and the gutless wonder hung up on me when I asked him "what his name was and who he was calling for."  Grrrrrr...........

This telephone number has been showing up on my caller id several times a week.  Today, I picked up the telephone when they called and I just said nothing. Finally, a man, said "hello" and I just hung up.  Next time they call,  I think I will pick up the phone and say "hello" and after they respond, I will ask them to hold on for a minute and walk away from the phone.  I wonder how long they will wait.  Hopefully, this will agravate them so that they don't call back.

I received a call from this number today at lunch time. How appropriate. The caller called me by the name the phone is listed under and said she was with Associated Community Service. I asked her what she wanted. She stated that she wanted to talk about Disabled Vietnam Veterans. I asked her her companies name again and she gave me the same name. I asked her for her companies physical address since her company did not want to list a name on caller ID. She said after a few stutters, well I can't give you that. I said I can't give you any more time then and hung up after telling her not to call back and to take this number off her list. There is no listing in the 800 toll free directory for this number. I would use caution as these folks are not being forthright and may be using a phone number spoof on the caller ID.

Made a one time donation and regret it. They call and harass even after I have told them to take me off their list.

I get a call from this number frequently and they never leave a message.  I called the number back yesterday and got their answering machine.  They said it was the Vietnam Veterans Foundation.  I left a message and asked them to take me off their calling list.  They called back today and so I called them  back again and told them to take me off their calling list.

I made the mistake of giving to a firefighters charity and now everyone and their brothers calls for donations, these peoople are worse than the mob!

Call from "unavailable" ID on Dec 5 2007, using this number.  No message left (I wasn't home at the time).

They keep calling and when I answer they hang up.

I answered with "Hello."  Caller responded with "hello," and then hung up.

Got a call just now from this number and a women started babbling on about the price of a "Happy Meal".
I hung up and redialed and as with the other commenters, it came up as a Vietnam Vets Charity.

They have called multiple times on my dsl line, I finally answered out of curosity....claimed to be calling from the Dallas Fraternal order of Police, I just hung up when he started his pitch...funny thing was they called back 3 times right after that.

Automated phone dialer.  Caller I.D.ed themselves as a Vietnam Vet Charity.  The company name came up as Unknown Caller.  I only give charity donations in person. I never give any money over the phone.

was dead air, no one responded.  I hung up after saying "hello" several times. They are probably using an automated dialer.
