John Carman just called me too, same 888 number.  did you ever call back?

I just received a call he said his name was john carman (Carmen) told me to call back on his private cell number 1 888 774 200404  he called from 207 7740001 He said he was with prides claims department in portland I had won a cool cash giveaway ,entered a yr  ago.

I too got a message from a John Carmen at 207-191-8961 saying my name was drawn last night in the Cool Car Cold Cash Giveaway, a contest that I supposedly entered in the last year and a half (which I did not).  It said to call him back at 888-774-2004 by 10:00pm, which I did not, it sounded like a scam.

As a follow up note, this contest name DOES seem to come back to an Easter Seals site. However, if you type in the Easter Seals site and try to find it from there, you get nothing. I have emailed Easter Seals asking for confirmation.

Also from Maine here, got a call 7:15 tonight from "Mark Young" supposedly in Portland concerning this "Cool Car" deal. He began to give a Maine number but then said "no, call me on my toll free number" and provided 1-888-774-2004. The number the call CAME from was 207-191-8791 which was NOT what he started to rattle off and which reverse look up says doesn't exist. Thought I'd mention it since he appears to have swapped numbers. He also wanted a callback by 9p, apparently he goes to bed early.

Mark Young is still at it. He called my landline number this morning, (I'm in Maine) with the same Cool Car Contest crap, only he was asking for an "S. Brewer". Neither my nor my husband's name is anything even close to "S. Brewer". When I told him so, he seemed a bit angry. I'm so sick of these types of calls, it's ridiculous.

I just got a call today from Mark Young leaving me a message that I had one this Cool Car, Cold Cash contest. Sometimes I enter contests, so I guess it would have been plausible, except he only used my initial "S" as it appears in the phone book. I don't complete entry forms that way. I never called back. Sounds scammy to me

Yup, Mark Young is back and calling. He must of forgot he tried me before. Scam , don't fall for it.

Seems like this scam is making the rounds again.  Caller ID showed an unlisted number from Corinth, ME-207-285-8302.  Said he was calling form the Awards Claim Center in Portland regarding last year's entry in Cool Car, Cold Cash contest and that my name was pulled last night.  Call back to Mark Young 888-774-2004.  He was only going to be there an hour (called at 11 this morning) and if I couldn't call back today, to call at 9 am tomorrow.  When I checked the toll-free reverse directory, I see that it is owned by a company that reroutes calls.

Got a message from "Mark Young" at the Awards Claim Center. Called him back (before checking online--mistake) and he claimed I was a "finalist" in the Cool Car Cash Giveaway contest I'd entered a year before. He started asking questions about whether "my wife" had entered the contest and tried to give me a contest winner code. I hung up the phone. Definitely a scammer. In South Carolina

We just picked up a message off of our answering machine.  Mark Young said my husband's name was pulled from an entry he did last year and we had till 9 pm to call back.  I called back and it rang forever.  i left a message - we'll see where it goes but I'm sure it is a scam.

I just received a call on my answering machine stating that my name was drawn last nite from the "Cool car/cold cash" giveaway. It said to sall Mark Young. I didn't catch the #, so I Googled him. Sure enough...I found this site. Thank you all for posting the warnings.

Still happening as of December 2011.  Got a call today at our house in Maine identical the above posts...caller was actually pretty polite, so I almost fell for it, until I looked this up.  Thanks for heads up.

I just recieved a call from someone saying that I entered some cool car contest and my name was drawn last night. He called from a private # so when our call was cut off I started looking on the net,
I tried calling some of the 800 # listed on other comments and none are in servise. This is obviosley a fishing scam. I'm in N.Carolina.

Got a call from a guy named Eddie and he left a message on my recorder saying I had filled out an entry form for the Cool Car Cold Cash Giveaway and to call him back. I don't remember ever filling out this entry form. Bogus call???

Got the same type of message already reported.  This was one of three calls all from different numbers, all very difficult to understand, and all from different voices claiming to be "Eddie".  If it isn't obvious to you this is a scam, check elsewhere on the net.  

Two of the messages mentioned the fact that they had been trying to contact me for a year and a half, and of course each message is the last one!  HAH!  

Anyone who knows how we can shut this company down, please advise.  They're getting by my Do-Not-Call listings.

Yes, I received a message from Mark Young as well asking me to call back regarding a contest I entered last year.  Before I checked this out online, I called him back at 7:00 PM and he said he was in a meeting, but asked if he could call me back.  Now that I know it's a scam, I won't answer when he calls back.  

Thank you everyone for the feedback.  I'm in South Carolina, and yes, times are tough and these people need to be locked up for preying on those who have been laid off or unemployed for whatever reason. *shakes head*

Meghan called from 888-663-6413...same story, said to look for certified letter in mail, thought it was a scam...called the phone company and verified that calls could not be billed to my number..

got the same message from this guy name mark ,  saing that I won a contest  cool car  cold cash.
I'm  glad I gogle this number it soud to good to be thrue , it look like a scam .

Looks like they've resurrected again in Sept 2010.  Got the same call this morning from a Mary Nelson at 1-800-355-5587 for the Cool Car Cold Cash crap.

I love how we have websites like this to OUT these crooks.
