Dont ever answer nor return calls from a number you dont know, whether you owe a debt or not you dont know whos on the other line. Keep all of your contacts in writing whether it be via E-MAIL, FAX or U.S. Mail. Keep a paper trail. Have them verify your debt in writing. Along with not answering the calls dont ever give them any info over the phone. If you dont want them to call you anymore register all your phones with NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY at: WWW.DONOTCALL.GOV also you can file a complaint with the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION at: WWW.FTC.GOV you could also go to their website: WWW.ARSCOLLECTIONS.COM and contact them via email and send them an E-MAIL or letter via U.S. MAIL to "CEASE COMMUNICATIONS" and they will have no choice but to contact you through the mail. I am not sure if this is the right company but if you have an employee named Harry Baker at extension 4006, he called my home this morning and got rude with my daughter and hung up on her.  He is looking for some loser named Frank Aiken and I have no idea who that is.  I built my home 6 years ago and have had phone number for that entire time.  So I know Frank has never lived in my home!
He called my daughter a liar when she said Frank did not live there.  He said he knew he was there and that he was going to call our neighbors to find Frank.  If this is the companies paractice then it sucks.  He is rude and condisending!!!!

ARS IS A COLLECTION COMPANY.  ONE OF THEIR ASSOCIATES CALLED ONE OF MY NEIGHBORS TO RELAY A MESSAGE TO ME.  I REPORTED THEM TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION. HEY MAYBE THEY'LL FINE THEM OR SOMETHING.  

FYI   ARS HAD A PENDING CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM IN CA.

I got a call that did not show # on caller ID. I picked up and some guy was looking for my sister-in-law. He told me to tell her to call him @ 800-392-6003, ex. 4006, and that his name is Gary Baker. I don't know who he works for, or what he's got to do with sis, but how did he get my telephone #, it's new and it's supposed to be unlisted?

They called and left a message requesting a name I never heard of as a deceptive means to get a response.  They wound up being a collector on the return call.  Either they aren't paying attention matching contact information with the debt or they are using a deceptive practice to make the purpose of the call unclear and motivate a call back.  

They are seeking to collect a debt.  Be careful, they might identify themselves as someone else to get the call.  That's an FDCPA violation.

Yeah junk debt collectors alright. Just ask for their address and send them a cease and diciest order possibly even go as far as pushing this to a civil claim for harassment. If your creditors have charged off the account then they got compensated so these guys claiming you still owe are junk collectors.

If they try to sue you which they will not then make sure you reply to the response it's not that hard and you'll see the case drop once you show them you are serious cause they will not show up in court at all. Make sure you also countersue for harassment, any legal fees, time off of work and further more the fact that they illegally obtained your information. This has happened to Capitol One NA junk debt collector and one thing led to another in an arrest of an entire firm that was ceased in New York for these similar illegal practices. You make one move then others who are victims will follow. Each employee associated with that firm will pretty much jeopardize their career for years so make sure you ask for the parties in that company who participated to supena them so they will give up all the information of the illegal practices their firm has exposed to avoid any jail time.

I received a call from Robert @ ext 4026. He was trying to reach my daughter, who does not owe any bills or have any credit for that matter. When I asked who he was with and what he wanted with my daughter he said it was nothing for me to be concerned about. My daughter is only 12! I think a strange man calling for her is something for me to be concerned about.

Called looking for someone with my last name and said i was a reference.  Asked what it was in reference to and "Chris Martin" said it was a pre-legal matter. And gave me this 800 number to call if I knew how to get in touch with this person.

I asked Are you a collection agency?  Then said to this s**t Head - Lady you are barking up the wrong tree! and hung up.

Received a call from this number--no extension--asking to speak with my daughter. said she'd just been talking to her and was trying to help her. Gave the message to my daughter before I checked this site.
