I guess I hold the record.  They've been calling / harassing me for 5 1/2 years.
I've sent proof that I'm not Susan Smith, and the calls stop for 3 months, then
starts again.  10pm Saturday, 9am Sunday, and throughout the week.
I just refuse to change my number.

Recent "advice" in this thread is very faulty. To halt the misfired skip trace calls, you must take direct action and make it the debt collector's problem to cure. Complaining someplace else and waiting for a rescue is futile. Verbal demands will not be obeyed either. My long form advice for "not me" cases is found here:

According  to what I've read, this company is Palisades Collection Agency. I have gotten very tired of them and I have called to tell them not to call me anymore in the past but I still get the calls. I believe they have been calling me for years but tonight was the last straw; it is Christmas Eve and I think they have a lot of nerve . I would like to try everything I've read in the posts to do something and see what works; I guess I'll find out. My thanks to the people who posted.

Thank you so much for your post. I've been getting these calls for a very long time(years) and have decided to do something.Your post along with others gives me something to work with. I don't know if they're still calling you but they  called me tonight, on Christmas Eve with their recorded message so I've had it. In California there is a Bureau  of Collection Agencies as well as the FTC. I'm not sure what I can do other than block their calls(thanks to another post since I rarely use that service) but I'm going to try.

We have been receiving phone calls from this number (Palisaades Collection Agency) for a year now.
The calls are for a Brian Fowler, who no longer lives at this address.  We usually do not answer calls from this number, BUT WE CONSIDER THE CALLS HARRASSMENT!!!

Called back the next day and entered a "Different reference PIN # and their stupid automated system STILL accepted the PIN Reference # and asked that I hang up and dial, "The NorthGroup" who is handling my account?

I keep getting phone calls for a Daryl D Edmonson.  I have never heard of this person and I have had the same number for over 10 years but have been getting calls for him for about a year now.  I am tired if the calls.  Paypalisades keeps calling and asking me to return the call but they always call after their business hours are closed.  It is really starting to irritate me.

They call me everyday. I do have one debt that I am currently paying off so I am fully aware of my credit. I told them to send me a letter and I would gladly forward to the laywer that I am working with to help. The guys name was Abib and he said that he would remove my phone number. I hope this works.

Have received several calls lookins for a Michael S. Rantigan from this number.  There is no one by that name in my household.  Who do we report these harrassing phone calls to?

There has to be some way to stop this! I've tried repeatedly to call and report that they have a wrong number (although they don't provide the name of their "debtor". No one ever answers. I don't want to change my phone number, nor should I have to leave my phone off the hook. Has anyone found a way to stop this nonsense?

They call my home phone as well and the message is half cut off. They are looking for my husband. I believe that they debt he owed is like 12 years old by now. Pass the statue of limitations.  I ignore them. Send me a letter then I can see what you are talking about. But they never do. It's a scam. I hate those people.

you know its no wonder we are getting these call from other countries taping into our phone lines getting our personal information, look at all the outsourcing we are doing in this country. they have all our personal information name, number, who knows maybe our social security.
if you really want to get back buy a throw away phone and call them every few min, tell them where to put there dept.

The have called me numerous times.  They are looking for someone with the last name Nichols so they load the phone numbers of everyone in the country with the last name Nichols and robo call them hoping one of them will know someone named 'Matilda'.  Talk about harassment.

Threatening collections against my phone number for a "Juan Rodriquez" that has never had this number.

Got a call. Was for a debt. Not for me.

When you call, call the number they give you, then enter the ID number they leave on the voicemail. It will tell you the balance, etc. After that, they will ask if you want to make a payment... Press 1. Press 1 and you'll get a live person. Give them your phone number, they will ask if you are that person, say no and they will take you off the list.

They r a scam!

If all do so, one of two things should result:
1- They stop harassing you for debts of a person you don't know, or
2- Their high BBB rating drops into the toilet with them.

I get repeated calls from this number on a phone clearly listed as "Do Not Call." They leave cryptic messages requesting a call back and ending with a statement like "we expect to hear from you soon..." said in a forceful way, perhaps to convey a threat. Since I have no debts, I am annoyed to be harrassed by this devious organization. If anyone knows a way to report them to an agency that will actually take action, please post it to this site. Vivian,  Your advice was the best.  I too do not have bad credit and I knew the person they were trying to get hold of.  You can go thru trying to remove the wrong telephone number from their records and it will just tell you the case number that they gave you does not exit.  Very frustrating.  Again, getting to the request for the social security number, entering 0 and then chosing 5 to get a "real" person works!   Thanks Vivian.

I have received three calls from this number giving a reference number to call back about some collections account.  I have no outstanding debts.  I want them to stop calling.

Thank you Paul, followed your instruction to leave all zeros as SSN, had to do it twice, but eventually someone picked up and confirmed they have the wrong name.  Hope this is the last time I hear from them!

They keep calling for a Holly Johnson and that is not me. I can't get them to quit calling. They even have called after 9 pm at night.
