Hi.
I have an Amex corporate credit card and the number on the back is 1-800-528-2122 for US.
For international, it's 1-623-492-8427.
The other number is a scam. Always check the number on the back of your actual card.
If you answer the "scam" call, ask for their name as most Amex employees will identify themselves. Then call the number on the back and ask for the employee.
Be safe.

This number among others calls me MULTIPLE times a day and it is becoming a pain. I pick up and they say "may I speak to Allison barnes" and then hang up.

I can confirm that, as of 4/24/2014, this is a legitimate AMEX customer support phone number. No scam here.

Have received many calls from 800-441-0518. Have called back and keep getting hung up on or told my account is up to date and nothing further is needed.

This number is continuing to call with an automated caller stating they are not the sales department of American Express.
BT 2013-11-24 23:02:48 Unknown
I just received a call from this number and they identifies themselves as American Express but "not a telemarketing call" and to call them back immediately. I called AmEx and they confirmed that they had not tried to reach me. The number is very familiar to the AmEx customer service number.

Received a call twice from this number - starts with automated message saying "Please hold for an important message from American Express". First time, person then got on the line and said some completely different name from mine, I told him that's not me, he apologized and immediately hung up. Second time, person came on the line and then immediately hung up. Something's not right here.

I am receiving voice mail messages on my business line from this number. I have not returned calls because it sounds like a scam. Interesting, my email also received a zip file attachment in an email saying it was from American Express. I am just going to delete all messages and not answer calls from this number.
Snurf 2013-09-19 16:42:40 Unknown
I could *hear* it was a call center. (My English teacher would be appalled.)

Got a call from this number. Silence on the line but I could here it was a call center. Man with an Indian accent asked for an employee who has not worked here since the summer. When I told him she wasn't here he apologized for interrupting and disconnected. He never identified where he was calling from.

This is a lagitamate number.
Not sure why our employee received a call from them.
I call Amex and they were able to verify that this is their billing department.

1 800-441-0518, . , . , . .Multiple calls over the past two months have been left on my office phone answering system asking me to call back AMEX at 1 800-441-0518, assuring me that this is not a telemarketing call. Since I do not have an account with them and the calls all originate from different numbers, I am pretty sure this is a scam. If they ask for your cc number, don't give it to them. Call the number on your card if you want to ensure you are talking to a valid AMEX rep.

I received a call from this # & let the answering machine pickup. When i called the # back - it picked up & said "American Express- please say or enter your 15 digit account number". I waited on the line to speak to someone & a man with an India accent came on the line. He gave me his name (which was obviously foreign, India i would say) then ask for my Amex card #. I told him this was a scam & i was not giving him my acct #, & besides- if he were with American Express, he would have the card #. I do not have an American Express card. He continued to ask for my card # & i told him to take my phone number off his list.

Got a number of calls from this #. I too do not have an AMEX card. So don't know what's up. Just be careful.

I received a call from 800-441-0518. i did not get to the phone to answer it and do not have an answering machine, so i called them back. they said they were american express corporate credit. i do not have and have never had an american express card of any kind. the only thing i could get out of them is they wanted to know what number i received the call on and then said they removed my number from the call list. i personally believe this very well could be a scam call. why would american express call my number if i have never had a card with them or ever talked to them about getting one to ever give them my number. all i suggest is be wary of this number.
Tim 2012-09-06 19:39:52 Unknown
I got the same call and I called AMEX and they said this was one of their phone numbers. All is well!
Brian 2012-07-24 15:13:19 Unknown
This is a valid AMEX number for corporate accounts. I received the call since the company canceled my card when I left the company. If you are not sure, you can call the customer service number on the back of your card or from the web site and they can transfer you to the right department.
Herman 2012-07-19 17:30:18 Unknown
I believe this to be a scam. I don't have, and I have never had, an AMEX card. Be careful folks. It just astounds me that this number has been reported on here for over 4 years, and the calls continue.
Kevin H 2012-07-18 16:44:29 Unknown
We received a call from this number today...they did not ask for any account numbers. They told us the accurate amount of our outstanding balance on our AMEX card and asked if we had sent in our payment. This is an actuall AMEX phone number. If you don't answer the call, and then call them back, yes, they will ask for your account number "to better assist you". This is an actuall AMEX phone number so no worries if they do call you, unless you don't have an AMEX account!
Camille 2012-06-23 20:35:56 Unknown
Got a call from this number and the message was just someone saying hello as if they couldn't understand an answering machine had picked up
Cory 2012-06-16 18:46:34 Unknown
Just got a call from this number. Called it back. States it's American express and then asks for you to enter your account number.
Donald 2012-05-27 02:10:28 Unknown
They left voice mail. When I called they said they were AMEX and asked for my CC number.
I stupidly gave to it them. Then I realized it was a scam and immediately called AMEX at the number on the back of my card and canceled that AMEX card.

This is a pretty slock scam. I called AMEX and reported the phone number.
Colleen 2011-09-22 18:31:25 Unknown
Received a call asking for my AMEX card number... super sketchy. Don't give it out. I called AMEX and they had no record of calling me for any reason and are now investigating this number.
