I also received a call re: a short survey (which I completed). I went to www.surveycruise.com, as directed. Like many others, I did not se where to enter myphone #, zipcode, etc. This, along with another recent experience, have shown me that there are no free cruises.

Kept getting these calls from 253-753-9137 and finally responded to the 'marketing ploy'. I answered the questions and was promised 2 cruise tickets (all expenses paid) to the Bahamas. Tried to access the website given (www.surveycruise.com) and got this site. REALLY?????? Everyone of us can't be wrong so they need to give us our tickets!

These calls can be fun people. As someone said in a past note, of they waste your time and u have the time, waste theirs. If a call from them takes four minutes, talk to them for twenty. At that rate they can only call one person as opposed to five, can't beat them slow them down. Ask as many questions as u can, don't matter how stupid the are. Bother the crud out of them they will eventually leave you alone. If they think they can be a pain I can show them much worse, and if possible call them bothering them, don'tt have to use your name and info, be creative.

Ugh I went along through the survey just to see what kind of questions were asked. I assumed it was a scam from the beginning but just wanted to see how credible it sounded becaues I always wonder HOW people can fall for that kind of thing. The survey consisted of 10 questions including: do you know anyone with diabetes, are you insured, do you prefer using a credit card or check at stores...and what kind of sewage line do have? so basically, all your typical survey questions....I was starting to get suspicious at the credit card question but then that tropical music came on and it was just so happy and some really peppy recording came on saying "you just won 2 tickets to the bahamas, blabla, please hold for a representative and rest assured you will not have to give any credit card numbers or other personal information". I started feeling like hey maybe this is legit after all. Then a woman came on the line who was polite and sounded like a youngish recent college grad. She asked if this was the best number to reach me at and asked for my zip code, and all of a sudden I got suspicious and was like "oh yea? well WHY do you need THAT, huh?" I said it like I had it all figured out. She answered: "to find the nearest port location to your city". That sounded logical and she said it with such confidence that I just said "Oh, ok" and gave it to her. STUPID me. Then she said I'd get a call in 2 days about hte tickets, that I should log on to the web site for something (I cna't remember what, I think for the confirmation) using my phone number and zip code. I really started to think this might not be a scam after all. So I went to the website, which looked legit, but didn't log in. I decided to see if there was any information about the "United Public Opinion Group" on the web first, and i'm glad I did! So, I read one post on another forum that said they could hack your comp. when you go to their website, is this true? If so, can they hack you even if you don't "log in" with your phone/zip? (Sorry in advance if that is a really dumb question). Hope someone busts these guys soon, before their stupid bahamas music lures another innocent victim into believing in miracles.

About posting personal information: The only information I see pertains to how these bogus calls waste minutes on cell phones, and hit at all the wrong hours of the day and night. If someone is foolish enough to post a personal phone number or other really deep information, that is their error. Rants using improper language say nothing about the individual other than that he or she has not caught on to how to ignore these types of calls and not to answer them whatsoever.
| Stop! 2012-04-14 21:28:26 Unknown |
People -- STOP POSTING YOUR EMAILS HERE! Why do you want to give out your personal information like this? Posting your name/email here does NOTHING. STOP IT!
| IT IS A SCAM! 2012-04-14 21:26:50 Telemarketer |
These people at "Political Opinions of America" who are making these illegal telemarketing robocalls are not taking a real survey. That's part of their scam -- an attempt to get around the do not call list by using a fake survey. They are spoofing dozens of different phone numbers from all over the country. They also now have a fake website.
If you press any number (or fill in a form on their fake website) to have yourself removed from their calling list, you are only confirming that your number is real, etc.
The cruise is not free. You will have to give them a credit card to 'hold' your reservation. They will charge 'small fees' to it. However, the fees are not small and are NOT refundable. Some people who have fallen for this scam have also had to sit through interminable time-share presentations with high-pressure salespeople. Come on!
Hang up. Block the number if you have that capability, or add the number to your phone's address book under SCAM. Immediately report each scam call that you receive to www.donotcall.gov. If they don't know about it, they cannot do anything about it.
