We're getting hangup calls from this number.

We're getting hang-up calls from this number, too, on both our home and my cell phone.  Sometimes there is a long pause and you can hear ppl in the background, but no one ever says anything.  I've read on other sites that this number is Dell Financial Services, and we do have business with them, but no reason whatsoever for a collection agency to be calling us.  They call 6-10 times per day, as early as 8am and as late as 9pm.

The New York State Attorney General (Mario Cuomo)has a law suit against Dell for unscrupulous activities of misleading customers into buying a computer system with payment terms that will never meet or pay off the balance the computer before the "no interest" period expires.  Then they sock the customers with an outrageous interest rate for a machine that is not worth the amount of money in the long run!  I usually make payments on-line and Dell Finances does not have a correct accounting of my payments!  They are short by some $400!  I'm going into that Lawsuit after I provide them with proof from my bank! I already contacted the Attorney General.  These practices are deceptive!

FOLLOW UP last post . I had a stolen visa,my name was used to
prob apply for dell. the people at this 443 number
are very fishy.I am reporting with the fraud section
of dell company,to remove my name. so far,cannot
even get this "so called' account number,or any
info. the indian people yell,ask for my social
then say "we cannot give you account info"
I also cannot get any numbers,what was charged,
or anything,cause they insist on my address.
I was told by fraud dept,not to hand any info
out. thats there job,to inform me of this account
and have my info there.

I have had lots of past exp with collections
they don't operate like normal,and are very
weird,and agressive.collectors always give
out accounts,and give you pay off,and also
know your address.( never ask for SS.)

They keep calling my cell and wasting my minutes! Every time I pick up, they hang up.  I own a mac and have nothing to do with dell, or their financial services.

and they did not answer "dell" they were silent.
I said Hell0? they said yes? I said dell? ( pause..)
um yes,mam. I then told them,I have contacted the authorities,and give me your address,and she screamed at me.I then told her I am a victom of "phishing' and fraud.
she asked for my "social" I said NO FRIGGIN WAY.
she said "i cannot give you any info,your not a customer"
oh really?? then how come you call 15 times accusing me
of having a open account??

SOLUTION- GO TO DELL FRAUD SECTION ON MAIN  DELL WEBSITE.
GET THE INFO AND DO SEND THE LETTER,YES YOU NEED NOTARY,10.00 IS WORTH AT LEAST GETTING THIS DEALT WITH.

This rant is total nonsense.

Suggesting never to use Dell again.  Thanks to all who put notes in on this, it really does help other people.  I have recieved 3 calls today from someone whom I can hardly understand... who tells me my account is in collections and tells ME what my social security number is ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  I think he said he was claling from India!  He has access to all my personal information and was demanding a payment of $37 over the phone or I would go into collections... funny my account balance is $12.  What the heck, I will never ever ever use Dell again.  This is the Second time this has happened when I have never made a late payment.

This number calls every half hour to an hour ALL day long. I have a dell account and have purchased 3 computers on it and am on an automatic payment system with them....but i have never answered the phone and never received anything in writing about any problems with my current account...until then , they will not receive an answer.

I just received a call from this number too. Asked by first name for my husband and then asked if I was the wife. acting as though it was an emergency, but wouldn't tell me who the company was so I gave my husband the phone. The the "person" stated he was Kurt and that my husband owed 30.00 in which he does not owe anything to Dell, but my husband did just apply for a Dell card "unfortunately" and we feel this is a scam company. At any rate, he was asking my husband specific information "address" and he immediately stopped and asked for his supervisors name and number. The man on the phone asked why he wanted to know and that my husband didn't need to know that. My husband asked for a phone number to call him back and the "kurt" said that he would call my husband at another time and my husband didn't need a number. And then he hung up. This was at 8 am on a Sunday morning. I then looked at my call ID and called back and there was a very generic voice mail so I pushed one of the numbers and a woman came on and stated that the company was APIP services and that it was a medicaid insurance company. I asked to speak to kurt cameron since this is the full name he "claimed" to have (also he had a "most likely" and did sound "fake" English accent. She claimed to not know a thing about all of this and I asked for a supervisor. She told me that no supervisor was in, but asked for my name and number. I refused to give it to her and I asked when the supervisor would be available and she said in a few minutes. I did explain to her what had happened and about him stating he was a Dell financial representative. I then just called back and received a totally different voice mail with a women having an "english" accent saying it was Dell financial. Obviously this is a scam for money...beware and contact the TRUE Dell people so this can be filed with the federal government for federal charges against these people.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do it now!!!!!!!!!!!

Dell is calling about a late payment but they call all hours. If it said Dell, I'd answer the phone, but it doesn't say WHO it is, and I don't answer anonymous calls.

I have been receiving multiple calls from this number and the person is extremely rude and defiant when I asked who they were with, etc.  They are asking for someone who is we have never heard of and they call at all hours, day and night.  I am at my wit's end.

I am getting these also from 1-800-443-1638.  I called Dell Financial Services at the following # :1-283-2210.  After getting, eventually, to an agent (hitting 0 a million times).  I insisted on speaking with a manager.  He told me he would take care of the problem, so we will soon see.  I have reported this number against the Do Not Call list and the BBB.  

I have been getting 10 - 15 calls/day from a person (that I can barely understand) asking for Anthony.  There is no Anthony here.  However they apparently do not believe me.

I was late on one monthly payment by two days. The man who called me from this number tried a few times until he got me, and when I spoke with him, I could barely hear a word he was saying the line was so bad. I told him that I wasn't comfortable paying my monthly payment via phone, so I paid it that afternoon via Dell's site.

Since then - about a week ago - I've gotten 10-15 calls per day from this number, with no response on the other end. Just silence. This is total harassment and I'll be reporting them promptly.

Calling to me everyday including Saturdays and Sundays.
Don't care what time is.

These people are trying to find people that owe money to Dell. If someone with your name owes them, you will hear about it. If you have received a call, I guarantee you will receive several more. They promise to take you off the list, but they have no intention of doing so. Report them to the Federal Trade Commission ASAP.

I have recently started getting calls from this number several times a day.  I have never answered, but the first call came with a distorted voicemail message.  The message was so distorted, I don't even know what the call was about!  This is getting terribly annoying.

I have a friend who is also dealing with this problem.  She does owe Dell, but she is paying every week to a debt consolidation co. which in turn pays all of her credit cards for her.  Dell gets paid every month on the agreed amount, but receives calls every day, sometimes 10-15 times a day from them.  What can be done to make them stop.  It's not like they aren't getting their money every month that they agreed upon through the debt consolidation co.  She's really sick of the calls that interupt her days.

This number calls me at least 7-10 times a day.  I had 19 calls in two days.  Wakes up my grandchildren on a regular bases from their napping.  Usually there is no response on the other end.  I quit picking up, but the phone will ring forever before it hangs up.  Don't have any relations to Dell if thats who is calling.  And even if I did, this is rediculous.

I got a pre-recorded message left on my voicemail when I did not answer the call.  It is for a steam-cleaning carpet service.  Double-checked the number.

Dell backed out of a verbal payment agreement. Now they say they never offered a reduction in payment. Out of all 9 of my creditors, DELL is the ONLY one who did not assist me with a payment option after I broke my wrist. I was in a cast for 22 weeks and had to close my store because I was unable to work.
I would have gone out of business if the OTHER creditors had not worked with me. And to top it off, DELL is the ONLY company I pay a monthly fee to make my payments should somthing happen that makes me unable to pay. They REFUSE to admit that my injury qualified for them to make the payment(s).

Also receiving repeat phone calls from this number with no apparent explanation.  If/when I answer, there is no one there, or a garbled voice. If this is really a Dell number, they have a problem on their hands!
