Debt Collector
This company is something else.. Iv'e been arguing with them for 4 months now. The first person who contacted me said my account could be settled for around $400. Original balance was $800 from cancelling 2 phone lines with T-Mobile and a partial months bill. I paid the 3 payments that were set up and figured that was it. For a week straight in March I got calls everyday saying I still owed $200 or so. I fought with them for a week and got hung up on countless times. Finally a supervisor said she'd note my account as paid in full, close it and send me a letter. Not the case. I received a letter a week or so ago stating they have tried to contact me several times and every attempt has been unsuccessful. Not true. Every call I've gotten I've answered and ended up cussing someone out. The employees are rude and the "supervisors" shouldn't even have that title. The supervisor yesterday told me the payments I made is not a settlement, but only payments because they will only settle for 20% of the amount. I told them yesterday to listen to the tapes from my phone calls. I called this morning to ask if I could hear my tapes and the first man made it seem like talking to a supervisor is off limits. He just kept questioning everything and trying to answer it. I asked her when I would hear back from someone after my tapes were listened to and she said I wouldn't be. She told me that the recordings are not public records and only employees can listen. The only thing they noted in my account is when I asked for them to remove my number from their call list. This place is a joke! They don't have their act together.

Someone called my husband's cell saying that they had spoken to me (which was not true) and that they wanted to confirm information. Something about an account--I don't know what for. My husband couldn't understand everything they were saying.

I've been to Texas twice and my husband has been there a few times on business as well as personal matters. He has family living there. But I have no idea why they called. I thought it was a scam.

Recently I learned that T-Mobile sent my husband's last bill to a collection agency even though I was there with him when we went, in person, to a T-Mobile store and paid the bill. My husband left T-Mobile months ago. I do not know if these things are connected.

I answered, got this lady asking to speak to __ __, I stated he is not available. and then she inquired, Are you the wife???  I asked, who is speaking, She stated the company's name so FAST that all i understood was SouthWest....  she asked for a second time with a very annoying voice.. Are you the Wife???
I said he is not available. She hung up.
I didn't answer her question, but now unfortunatly the zombies know our number. I verrry much dislike billcollectors. We are in AMERICA and should get bailed out! (   lol :( sad  )

The do not call list does not work for debt collection agencies. Its no use even if our number is on the list(I'm the example here, learnt it the hard way after SW never stopped calling my number even after reporting to bureaus ) I was being called everyday for a debt already payed to AT&T a few months ago.Oafs didn't stop calling me even after repeatedly asking them not to call. A few golden words that worked:

"Thank you for calling. I was not expecting your call and I'll need awhile to look up some helpful information. Would you please hold?" (Don't wait for their answer. Put the phone down and walk away).

"Thank you for calling. May I have your full name please? Thank you. Please spell your full name for me. Now, (their name) what is your Social Security Number? (After listening to them fuss say) I just need to have your identity so I will be suing the correct person if you violate my rights under the FDCPA."
A few websites that can give more information on this:

These jerks just called here.  They asked for me, but if they are collecting for AT&T, I have NEVER had service from AT&T!  How can they call on a debt, when I never even USED the company?  It's no problem though.  I have a phone that allows me to BLOCK numbers and I have blocked theirs.

I received a call from this number. The person, Jim Wilson, was very rude. The company is Southwest Credit or South West Credit--Jim refused to explain further. He has repeatedly called this number looking for someone who doesn't use the phone number. When I tried to explain this to him, he gets very belligerent and calls me a liar. When told that I don't want him to call here anymore, he accuses me of being the person that he is looking for.

If you are having trouble with this company, you can try to call them back but I doubt it will help. Their phone number is 1-800-462-3892 and Jim Wilson's extension is 2382. However, if you ask for a supervisor, Jim refuses to transfer you because you are not the person he is looking for (Yes, I am not the person they are looking for when I want a supervisor, but I am the person they are looking for during the rest of the conversation). If you do want to talk to a supervisor when call the company at 1-800-462-3892, do not mention the employees name who is harassing you until you have been transferred. If you do mention their name, the operator will transfer you to that person's phone and they answer it will an alias.

These are very rude people. I suggest people should call their number 1-800-462-3892 and talk to them. Remember, for every minute that you waste of their time, it's a minute that they cannot conduct business.

They keep calling my cell phone looking for some lady.  I called the number back and the girl was very rude and stated that my number could not be deleted because I had taken a message once to get them off the phone.  I asked for a mailing address to send a certified letter and stop the calls and she would not give a mailing address.  I asked for manager and he put me on hold then would not give a mailing address either.  I guess the main thing here is:

If they won't give a mailing address, it is most likely bogus

Southwest Credit For AT&T

DO NOT ANSWER THEM. NO MATTER IF YOU PAY YOUR DEBT, IT WILL STILL LOOK AS BAD ON YOUR CREDIT AS PAYING SINCE IT IS NOW A COLLECTION. EVEN IF YOU PAID IT DOES NOT MEAN THEY WILL NOT SCREW YOUR CREDIT.

IF YOU HAVE TO PAY, NEGOTIATE WITH THEM AS THEY HAVE BOUGHT THE DEBT AT PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR. FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU OWE 200.00, SAY 30 BUCKS OR EVEN BETTER DON'T PAY THEM CRAP!

I called 1-800-462-3892 back. They were collecting a debt from AT&T. They waived the pay over the phone fee for me since I paid the debt off that day. I received a confirmation number and everyone was very nice to me.

Been seeing several missed calls from this number this past week but up until today no message was left.  Today an automated message was left by a lady with an accent stating that it was "A very important personal message for Jorge Ibarros" I have no idea who this person is and thus do not plan to call them back just in case all they are doing is fishing for information.

Keep getting the same number calling 1 800 462 3892...Saying with South West Credit Company. It's a recorded message each time saying its about collecting a debt and then gives a number to call back. The only time I did get a live person I told him that I had no idea who they were looking for and he said he'd take my number from the calling list. That was about 4 or 5 months ago and I still get calls from them but is recorded. When I call the number hoping to get a live person it goes to voice mail. I've had my cell for almost a year now and the call is for Impressions...I have no idea who or what Impressions is!!!

Just got a call from the same number [1-800-462-3892] like everyone else. Six months ago, I was getting calls from them asking for someone I didn't know.

I called them back and explained to them that I wasn't the person they were looking for... they said they would remove my number from the system and that I wouldn't receive any more calls. During the entire conversation the person was nice and polite and since that call I haven't received a single call from them.

Fast forward six months and they are calling my number again!!

Now they are calling and hanging up on me when I answer?? (Strange)

I just keep wondering where this company is getting their information from? My phone is prepaid and unlisted, it's also a new Verizon number and I don't think AT&T ever owned it. I also have never been to TX.

The only place that I have ever listed this phone number is in my email signature and maybe Craigslist when I'm selling something...

Just strange if you ask me... If I remember correctly, I think that I read somewhere that they were fishing for information from the people they were calling.

If I was going to fish for information (something I'd never do) I think it would be a smart move to ask for someone else, then when the person protested "wrong number" I would ask for their name and info so I could add it to the computer do not call list... etc.

Just be careful. and think twice about the information you give them "IF ANY". There are many ways for companies like this to screw us over so it never hurts to be on guard...

They called me at 8:29 AM PDT on my business line. When I picked up, they had hung up. I work late night so this was not appreciated.  No clue who they were or what they wanted but when I called back I heard the same recording that Jayson mentioned on 12 Dec 2009.

Based on this, just going to block them.

I just used Jayson's suggestion from Dec. 2009 and spoke with a man who asked me if I was so-n-so and when I said I was not he said that was the problem and would remove the number from their system.  I am so thankful for the suggestion.  I work as a secret shopper and need my phone for timing the company and when a calls come in it messes the timmer up so now I will not be getting these calls, thanks.

Just got a new cell phone & number and keep getting calls from a seemingly endless stream of bill collectors looking for the last owner of this number. I no longer answer their calls and just use the "blocking" feature. This number is just one I just added to a growing list.
