Better yet---send them a DV letter. This stops the calls and dunning letters. Sent them one months ago and they didn't respond, confirming the debt was invalid, to begin with.

George called and left a message to call immediately DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE back. They are calling to collect a debt they have either purchased or have assumed from another company. You do not have to call. They will continue to harass you. Please go to the Federal Credit Reporting Web-site and file a complaint. Usually these past debt collection are past the statues of limitation. They try to harass you by scaring you into thinking you will be in trouble. They usually cannot even operate in your state due to their location. If you receive a call from GEORGE tell him to provide written documentation that this bill is even associated with you and original signatures indicating it your debt if he can not provide that information or continues to harass you make a complaint immediately

Most likely sleazebag collectors going after a debt that you either don't owe at all (calling for the wrong person) or it's past the statute of limitations.  If it's Weltman, Wienberg, and Reis, they are all over the internet like a rash.  Complaints on stopcollector.com, budhibbs.com, fair-debt-collection.com, etc.  Bottom feeders.  Don't call them back, but if they keep harassing you, log the calls and sue 'em for harassment.

I received a call from phone number which showed up as a "unknown number" on my phone. I get 2 to 3 calls a day from this unknown number and today finally some person named George left me a voice mail message and asked that I call back 800-476-7315 Ext 22618. Stated that he represents a Law Firm, if it is real not sure, but they are located in a 614 area code or somewhere in OHIO. Never stated why he was calling just for me to call him back-- yea, sure what for that one.

I have received several calls from these people looking for a woman. I have had my phone number for over 15 years. Yet Donna Porter,  person who has left at least two messages, told me I could not have had this number that long because it is a cell phone. I had this number ported several years ago from land line to cell line. I also told her that I had left a message a few weeks ago that I do  not know the person they are looking for, to which she replied, " I was on maternity leave, so I know you are mistaken". Than she tried to tell me that the person they are looking for has probably given my number to other companies. I have received no calls from anyone other than the alleged Law firm of Weltman, Wienberg, and Reis. The number they call from is 800-476-7315 ext. 22648. So if you want to be insulted, by all means return their calls so you can be told that you are a lair!!!! Donna if you read this you can kiss my grits and call them buttermilk.

An Ashley from this number  800.476.7315 ext 20661 called my job and left a message. Before returning the call I blocked the number. The call went through and an automated recording asked me to hold my call is being processed. Within less than two seconds a man answered; however, I hung up. Persons using this same number has called my cell phone before. Perhaps they are legit, perhaps not. To substantiate my concern about this I spoke with someone that at one time was employed with Diversified Collections. I was informed that employees working for collection company's are not to harass anyone by calling, in dialogue, or through any other source.

I know.. it is crazy and it is upsetting.... IF you have a smart phone, download "Mr. Number",  its free and will allow you to block these calls.  You can set it up to send the call straight to voicemail, or simply hangup.  :-)  Hang in there..  I know it sucks.

I had this "law firm" call me on two other numbers...  one 800 number(sorry, i don't recall the original number)  and one direct line 614-801-2600.  The call started with a very intimidating man named, "George",  telling me that i needed to handle this matter as quickly as possible or i would be in a lot of trouble.  To be honest, i was a little freaked out and not very happy about the tone this man was using.  I decided to kill him with kindness and ask him some basic questons about this money i supposidly owe.  He was very receptive to my kindness but when i asked him what the original company who the debt was with was, he HUNG UP ON me!  So.. I called him back.  He made up some BS about phone problems and i continued to ask questions.  He got really frustrated with me and i kept apologizing for being such a pain (LOL).   He finally hung up on me again.  Amazingly,  i started getting calls and msgs from George again!  (This poor man must really have a nagging, horrible job!)  So i finally explained to him that his company is a fraud and advised him not to call again.... it was all good until this morning, and i received a call from this  "new" number.  Arg.  Poor George, he needs a new job!

The message I got was someone looking to speak with the person authorized to handle my mother's estate.  She claimed to be from the law offices of Welman, Weinberg, & Reese.  When I called it back it gave the same info as well as that this was the probate department.  I left a message for them but haven't heard anything yet.  I will keep you posted.

These CON artists call and say they are a LAW firm............well if they are why don't they attempt to

Are they really a law firm?

I have been getting daily calls from Weltman, Weinberg and Reis (I am not sure of the spelling) at home. The calls were mechanical sounding at first, but the last 2 were a female voice (I believe a live caller).  I don't answer the calls because I pay for my telephone and I am pretty sure it is my right to not answer if I choose not to.  They will not say what they are calling about.  Well, I came to work tonight and an fellow employee had left a message for me that they had called. I work in a business where privacy is everything, but I guess I have none. The person calling left the number 1-800-476-7315 extension 20661 to call back. They asked that I return the call asap. We are not supposed to receive calls where I work so I am potentially in trouble.

I got a pair of new speakers for Christmas, wanted  to test them out. Keep getting a bunch of calls from these jerks, and most of the time there is no answer. But this time there was a recording to wait for the next operator. So when she came on, I put the phone up to the speaker and let it rip.
Hope her hearing gets better.
Maybe now they will stop calling.
