i too recieved a vm from this number threatening if i did not call back they would have to make a decision on my behalf!? I called back late that night and got no answer then looked the # up & found this! thanks everyone for ur postings now I know!

They call twice a week, leaving threatening messages for someone I've never heard of.  They said that they "verified" that this is the correct number for this person (I've had this cell # for 12yrs) and if he does not call back by 6PM, they will be forced to make a decision on his behalf.  

Called back the number, told them to please stop calling, that the number did not belong to the person they're looking for.  The guy became rude, so I told him my company has legal offices in CR (they do) and that they would take action against them.  His demeanor changed and he apologized and said they would take my number off their list.

Same here. I don't answer 800 numbers. If it's important, they'll leave me a message and tell me what they're calling about. If it makes sense, I'll call back. If it's threatening, I won't. If they don't give enough specific information (like a company name), I won't. It's a red flag not to trust it.

I've received a couple messages from this number and have not called back.

They call every few days, I never answer as I have a habit of not answering 1800 numbers.

Message said to call back at ext. 1806 by 6 p.m. CDT, that it was an urgent matter pertaining to me.  

Of course, it didn't go to the ext.  I was transferred to a "rep."  I asked them to quit calling, that there was no one at my phone number by the name of Margo, and that I'd had the same number and address for 30 years.  Furthermore, I had no correspondence from them saying I owned anyone anything, etc.  She said she'd remove my number - we'll see....

Call blocking hasn't been working since the shysters change numbers regularly, not to mention use weird combinations of numbers which Uverse won't accept for blocking purposes.  So, the next thing up my sleeve is call screening - only 20 numbers of friends and family will be registered to ring through to my phone.  So there....

they called my number left message for Ex Husband who NEVER had this number and when I called them they were like  OH sorry ummm we will remove your number

They called my cell number twice and left a voice mail message. The first message had a accent so thick I had trouble understanding it. The name they were calling for was nowhere close to mine. The second message said they are calling for for Shelby R. about a "situation" and to call them back at 1-800-518-2066 Ext. 1803. Obviously a scam. The cell number is not in my name as it is a company phone. Second they got the name wrong.

Goetting calls on my answering machine from this number.  No identification and wpuld like it to stop

I got a call from this number today. They left me a message and they said my name. I've looked around and saw that it was that MDO Mortgage Services based in Costa Rica. I don't understand I don't even have a mortgage!! Any ideas?

Called and left no message. I called back after hours and their recording said "MDO Recovery" or My Recovery", there was a flaw in the recording. I googled the phone number and it is MDO Mortgage Services based in Costa Rica. The 800-518-2066 number is listed on their website and is to their US offices, but no US address is provided. I received a call from them today.  They also told me that they were calling about an overdraft balance from Wachovia Bank.  The guy was extremely rude and told me that he has my name, address, and where I work on file and that they were coming for me.  He told me that Wachovia hired him to investigate me.  He made it sound like they were going to try to take the money out of my check or something.  However, I don't even remember owing Wachovia.  So I told him, to tell me what the overdraft was for and he couldn't.  So i told him I'm not paying until they tell me what the overdraft was for.  He told me he would send out a statement of the account.  I kept asking more questions....and finally he said if i don't pay today he is going to charge me fees for every month ...all the way back to February of 2009. So, I said send me out the statement and we will talk after I look at it.  He said he is not sending out the statement.  I said why, and he said ....because I kept asking him questions....that he had tried to be nice to me but i wasn't listening.  Needless to say, I hung the phone up.

It's a phishing number.  They said they were calling about an overdraft balance that my husband owed from several years ago and identified our actual bank.  I called the bank and they confirmed it's a scam.
