You can also contact your state Attorney General's office and report them for harassing you. There are state and federal laws that protect you from being phoned at your workplace. I am receiving calls from these people, too, and I am contacting both the FTC and my state Attorney General's office.

The ACM group, which is also The Asset and Capital Management Group, has come up with some unique ways to try to stay under the radar.

I Initially found out about this company when I checked my credit report, where I found a "hard" inquiry by the ACM Group. Then I started getting Harassing calls from The Bureau of Asset Management, aka Credit Recoveries Inc. aka Capital Recoveries Inc. They were wanting a large sum of money from me, but refused to validate the debt. Of course, they threatened me with a lawsuit, the police, process servers, etc.

They didn't carry through on any of the threats. They never do. They won't respond to any of my mail either.

Here is the catch. The ACM group, or Asset Capital Management group, out of Tustin California, is, or owns, or is affiliated with The Bureau of Asset Management, The Bureau Of Debt Management, Credit Recoveries Inc, Capital Recoveries Inc, or whatever new name they come up with. I've done quite a bit of research on this outfit. The group out of Anaheim changes their name often.

How did I find this out? All of their phone lines are registered to ACM group, or Asset & Capital Management Group.

A Justia search shows numerous FDCPA suits against them, and I'm sure more are to come.

Here's the thing. If they call you and threaten you, make them validate the debt. They won't do it. They also won't sue you, serve you, or take anything from you. They just threaten. Don't cut any deals with them, don't pay them, don't talk to them. If you do, record your conversations. They're shifty. They can be rather aggressive and bullyish, but just call them on their bluff.

Joseph E Dorsey is the owner of ACM Group. That way you have a real name to reference.

Here is the list of names and numbers of the people out of the anaheim office. These are their REAL names, not their made-up work names.

Tommy Morris 714-872-5030 He is the supposed "Legal Administrator"
Charles Lofton 714-872-5032
Matt Kazuki 714-872-5033
Jason Kincaid 714-872-5038
James Florian 714-872-5036
Arlene Paz 714-872-5040
Kim Miller 714-872-5039
Bobby Westre 714-872-5041
Kyle Davis 714-872-872-5037
Diana Avalos 714-872-5042

Once again, after dealing with these people myself, they won't sue you. No attorneys at all work for them. And If you feel like suing them for FDCPA violations, feel free. People are doing it all over the country, and winning.

Prank Call
Just got a call from this number. I did not answer and they did not bother to leave a message. I have been getting so many calls from 800 numbers and everything in between. I no longer answer my phone unless it is family, my doctor or personal friends calling. All their numbers show up on my Caller-ID. Anybody trying to reach me with business that is legit would have my address. Write me a letter stating your business. All others will make the mistake to reach me by phone. They are wasting their time.

I owe no money to anyone, house and auto is paid for, I have no debit. I received a call at 8am but was still in bed. To the people that have been threaten. Oklahoma penal code, state statue, Title 21, Chapter 47A, Section 1172, deals with harassment, first offence is a misdemeanor, second offence is a felony. It is a crime to be harassed. If your in Oklahoma you can look it up at the oscn website. If not in ok check your state statutes. These people can be punished. Report them!

Got a VM on my home office # from a guy who identified himself as "Nick Stiller" and left a robotic message for my wife, calling her "regarding James Eckleheart" and left a 8 digit numeric id to reference when calling back. We have no idea who this Eckleheart character is, nor how this Stiller guy got our #. I didn't bother calling back.

Received a voicemail from this number about a family member. I returned the call. When I asked what company I had called, they said all they could tell me was they are a "financial services company." They wanted me to pass along an "important" message or give them a good phone number to reach my family member. Sounds like they're trying to collect a debt, although they wouldn't tell me exactly why they wanted to contact my family member just that it was a "business matter." They wouldn't discuss the matter with me because it was "personal in nature" but had no problem asking me to divulge personal family information and were very irritated when I refused. The person I spoke with was very rude and kept cutting me off every time I tried to say something. I finally told her I had no idea how to get in touch with my family member and to not call my cell phone again.

Re:  1-800-519-2643
I have received multiple calls from someone representing themselves as a representative of Capital Management Services or a major bank card.
         (1)  I have told them that I am not the person they are seeking;
         (2)  I have further stated that, even if I knew the person they were trying to reach, I wouldn't tell some stranger calling me from out of nowhere; and
         (3)  I asked that they remove my number from their call list.
Today, I took their phone number with the stipulation that I was going to file a complaint after having verified who was the owner of the number they provided (which is the above-listed phone number.)
Yesterday, the man claimed to be from a well-known Bank Card; and, today, the man said he was from Capital Management Services.  For all I know, these people are simply operating a scam of some sort; but, whatever their purpose, they have no business with me!
NOTE:  I am an ordained Baptist minister; and I cannot meet ministry-related obligations without answering our home phone number, and I cannot change my phone number to avoid these nuisance calls (which are not even directed to me.)

This company or individual is abusive. They call all day long & early & late & don't realize that people have a phone for their own convenience. We transact business, talk with our families & make appointments when needed or call for help when needed.  No message is left & THEY continue to call & harass people.

If you have record of all the calls and proof you have told them you are not the party they are trying to reach, you can sue them (FTC law). It sounds like they would owe you a lot of money for harassment. Contact an attorney.

I have gotten calls from this company looking for Tisha McCloud and Patricia Herman for at least 2 years and also 5 years all together looking for Tisha McCloud.  I have told them repeatedly I am not this person and they pay no attention.  The company calling is Capital management and I have gotten bills for Patricia Herman from Citi Bank and know they work for Citi Bank.

Their calls are a recording that says they are looking for Patricia Herman, "If you are not Patricia Herman answer this call and hang up.  If you don't we assume you are Patricia Herman".  They identify themselves as Capital Management and give phone number to call. l I have a couple times called and told them but they ignore and keep calling.  At one point last year when I answered they wanted me to give them the last 4 digits of my social security number.  I told them no I never give any of it out.  They then asked if the numbers they gave me over phone are mine.  I said no.  They called back next day and said if I'd give it out (last 4 digits) I could verify it isn't my SS number.  I told them no.  I need this stopped.  5 years from different collection agencies looking for these 2 people is beyond harassment.

Collector, you made legit points and then you proved why collectors are considered such low life's. Once you wrote "i love how all these scumbag debtors are acting like CMS is the devil while they're the ones who defaulted on a written agreement with their creditors." you showed who you really are and why you are despised as people. You are pompous and always think you are right. You have no compassion or understanding to individual circumstances. I was making mid six figures a year, then I lost my career because of downsizing. When I was making the money I was paying the bills. You will find most people you refer to as "scumbags" have done the same. Then downsizing came and I lost my house, my vacation home, my investments, my marriage and my way of living. When I was employed everyone was getting paid and I was great. Now because I got caught in circumstances I had no control over, I am a "scumbag" according to you. Well I hope you never experience the trauma and the things I experienced but if you ever you do, I wonder if you will still think people who lost their incomes and can't pay their bills as "scumbags"?

As for your other commit about the lawsuits and the lien against your home and garnishment of wages. I lost my home so go luck with placing a lien on property I do not own. For that matter I own nothing because I lost it all to this bad economy. Second I live in a state that has a law to protect against wage garnishments. So if I was ever to get new employment no creditor would be able to garnish my wages. Third if I was really concerned about any law suites, I would wait until they all filed, and then I would stop them dead in their tracks. See while you think we are all "scumbags" because we can no longer afford to pay our bills, the government doesn't. The US has given us a way out of a bad situation by giving us the ability to file for bankruptcy. They understand that sometimes good people (or in your way of putting it "scumbags") fall on hard times. They should not be punished because they had a life style change. Therefore they are given a way out and a way to start new and fresh. So you may think banks are just going to spend millions of dollars in legal fees just to get judgements on every debtor but they are not. If they can not collect on a debt they will not pay more money to try and collect on something that is not collectable. Even the IRS gets that. When someone is Currently noncollectable with the IRS, they leave you alone. The IRS gets it and you don't. What does that say about your character?

Totally wrong. 'written off' just means that the creditor isn't currently claiming the bad debt as an asset. you agreed to pay the debt, therefore, you owe the debt. CMS is a legit company that works for citibank, BOA, chase, atlantic, discover, university of phoenix etc. its a 3rd party collection agency (which means that they don't own the debt but they work on behalf of the creditor). If you don't pay your debt eventually your creditors will sue you and garnish your wadges/ bank account, or put a lien against your property. collection agencies are willing to settle the debt out four less the the debtor owes, but if you refuse to talk to them, they report a refusal to pay to the creditor, and that's when the creditor will take more drastic action. if someone owed you hundreds or thousands of dollars wouldn't you take their a** to court?? your creditor will too...i love how all these scumbag debtors are acting like CMS is the devil while they're the ones who defaulted on a written agreement with their creditors.
