Oh and to you guys who signed up for the DO NOT CALL, like I did, on more than once occasion, I was told that you have to re sign up again like every 6 months, because they purge their data bases. WTF?

Nope, dont get it. I am sitting here at 9 oclock at night. Minding my own business. Getting ready to turn in. The same number has called 3 times since 5 p.m. Yeah , I ignored the first two time. They ring thru let the answering machine pick up, wait til it records then hang up. So now I have a flashing no message. I have asked them to take my name off the list. I have volunteered in the past to do the neighborhood canvas and donated when I wanted to, not when they feel I need to. But this bull crap of harassing me at home is going to cause me to stop doing anything for them. And then this ACS apparently shares with other good cause organizations and pretty soon I am getting called by the same company representing the Leukemia Foundation, AHA. Take my phone off the hook to avoid these aggravating phone calls, are you for real?? I think it should be against the law to harass someone in their own home with the phone they pay for. ACS implies they are the American Cancer Society, but in fact it is a soliciting company representing many organizations.

We've been called from this number several times in the last few days but they never leave a message.

8005207314...says 'toll free call' on caller i.d. No message that i'm aware of. If it IS debt collector, they're calling the wrong person. Calls several times a day every day.

Gots dis call from a Dr. Jones Smith-Splooge who says he's gots my million bucks he wants ta send me and needs all my personal information if I evea wants ta see it. He also said I needed to send his sister Cliteeta $247.89 ta cover "handling" if ya feel me.

gotten 9 calls in last 3 wks, all times of day, always a hang up when you answer. maddening. no idea who it is. searched on another website and came up with landline in Germany. beats me, we're in midwest USA.

It's the American Cancer Society "Friends and Families".  I took the call a couple of nights ago and the lady on the line was having a really hard time speaking and hung up.

Wanted to know who owns this number.

We have been getting calls from this number ... I believe three times since July 14th.... even on Sunday!   I just pick up phone and then hang up because when you answer.... there is that long pause, so you know it is a telemarketer.   I was told once by the phone company to hit the * and # together and it will either knock your number off the list or it will give the caller a blast in the ear.  It's amazing how they ignore the Do Not Call lists.

They called and left a message saying it was MCL debt collection to call John Huber.  I called from a private line and gave my home number they called already.  There was no record of that number.  I think it's a sham and they are sending out spam calls to see who they can get.  DON'T ANSWER.  I don't owe anyone money.

I have been receiving three calls a day from this number 800-520-7314 for over a week..calls came in on Sunday, and at 8:15 a.m. Monday. I'd like to know who is placing these calls.

Thank you for the information.  I, too, have had 800-520-7314 on my caller ID every week day.  When I called the American Cancer Society at 866-435-7227 the gentleman was very polite and explained he would make note of my desire to have my number removed from their call list.  He apologized for the inconveniences, and said it might take up to 30 days to be in effect

Caller I.D. shows caller to be WASHINGTON D.C. This number represents both Amercian Cancer Society & American Lung Asso. I spoke to Denise Hendricks, supervisor, and requested our number be deleted from their calling list.  We received daily calls, morning and evening.  Our anwering machine relays "solicitors & telemarketer, remove our number from your calling list".  Denise said if a machine picks up the caller disconnects and is not aware of any message.  The only person capable of removing a number off their list is a supervisor.  Additionaly I was told that charities are excluded from the "Do Not Call" registry

You're awesome Jay - it worked just as you said. I don't know why they were calling in the first place because our number was already on the Do Not Call list, but whatever works at this point will be fine with me. Thanks again!

I have been receiving calls from this number incessantly.  As always, we let it go to voice mail, even when we're home.  Only today did I get an automated recording of a  male voice, which I quickly deleted.  The start of the message was truncated because recordings start at the beginning of voice mail greetings.  DO NOT press any keys on your telephone.  It can open your line to the caller's use.  Do not assume that the caller is honestly identifying his affiliation.  Also, telephone numbers can be spoofed.  There are services that provide that for a fee.  (Yes, we are on the Do Not Call list.  There are too many calls for me to continue reporting all of them.)

Thank you for the info -- I called and they said they would remove our number within 30 days but would try to do so sooner.  As long as these calls stop eventually.

I contacted the American Cancer Society and told them that I would never donate to them again until they get these people to stop calling me. Lets' see what happens.

Call the number and press # 1. Wait for the message to end, then press # 3. You can enter your phone number and be placed on their do not call list. Hope it works, they are a pain!

Thanks for the advice. I will call and opt out of the American Cancer Society calls. I dislike these so-called non-profit agencies. I think they're dishonest and they should find a different way to get funding by offering a service that the public wishes to pay for.

Receive calls from this number on a daily basis.  I called the number and it is the American Cancer Society.  I listened to the message and then hit number 1 to receive more information.  Again another message but I was finally able to press number 3 to be removed.  Sure hope this works as I am quite tired of the calls.  I would never donate money to a charity that uses telemarketers for fund raising.

This people keep calling...it needs to stop. I have no idea who they are.

two and three times a day   About  2- 3 rings and then they hang up with  no message. This has been going on for weeks.  Called number listed in above post and asked name to be removed. Charity or not this method of fundraising should be reported. They cant possible raise funds this way successfuly.

Please stop these phone calls............twice a day. Even when you do not answer, they continue to call, they do not leave message on machine.

Have been getting a call from this number every day at precisely 3 o'clock Eastern.  Finally called back and was referred to an 866 number.  Asked to be removed.  She was apologetic and said she would remove us immediately but it might take a few days.

I received a call, caller ID said "toll free call" and listed this number 800-520-7314. The young woman who answered was very nice but when I told her that I wanted the official name of their charity and how to reach them, she gave me to a supervisor. The supervisor was very nice and said that they were with the American Cancer Society's notes to neighbors, family and friends program. I told her that this was the second call in 10 minutes and that I get regular calls from them and want to be removed from their list. She was very nice and said that she apologized and would immediately put my number on their do not call list.
She said that at one time I must have donated to the American Cancer Society, which is true, but I informed her that I would never donate via the telephone. She was understanding. We'll see how it goes.
