-- "I didn't fill out the survey, and because of that I got a cancellation notice on my car insurance, so you might not want to ignore these calls."

they called my cell during working hours, I did not answer and left no VM.  If related to car insurance like many people have posted, I had just added a vehicle to my car insurance policy yesterday but am not aware of any survey that I did not send back.

Survey
This company calls you if you receive their so called final notice surveys they send. It is a legit company after I talked to my insurance agent about them. In their survey if you answers differ from your policy statement they report the info to your company to adjust your rate premium. Some folks may go down, but most increase due to folks being caught off guard and giving too much info. Ignore them, your policy doesn't change if you do

Survey
Not only does this company call and not leave a voicemail explaining why they have a "legitimate" reason to call, but just because I didn't fill out a survey (which meant I didn't need to make any changes to my policy) and giving my private info to a third party is just WRONG!

This is a legitimate company, needing information about your insurance.  They only asked for verification of info that appears on our application as assurance the agent gave the correct info.  So, call them back or answer when they call.

URI is a legit company.  I work for an insurance company and we use them to help us contact insureds if additional information is needed.  They are a 3rd party vendor.

Progressive would have canceled your insurance because you refused to answer questions posed by a third party calling out of nowhere? You don't find anything amiss with this picture? You sagely advise other people to put up with this outrage too? Incredible.

Valid call - would advise returning any message.  URI is used by multiple insurance companies to validate many aspects of your policy(ies).  In my case, they were calling to see if I had received my initial policy packet which had a form that needed to be returned or else coverage would be cancelled. The third-party approach allows your insurance company to have a larger Customer Service base for follow ups like this without having to maintain full payroll.  Call them back or else you may find yourself uninsured when you go to make a claim...

Called today. URI Info Services. Wanted to do a survey about our Progressive "rental insurance policy". Two problems with that. One, we have State Farm. Two, we own our home & have HOMEOWNER'S insurance. Sounds fishy to me.

I have insurance through AAA also, home and auto, and have been getting calls from this number. If they need further information, then my agent can call me. I trust him.

Received call from this phone number but I did not answer.  I have registered my home phone lines and cell phone on the "do not call registry" but solicitors continue to call.  When I receive unsolicited calls on my cell phone, I add that number to my contact list as "Spam xx" so that I'll can quickly see the caller ID the next time they call.

How was your the decision "not to answer" validated. Did you see something negative about URI. I just got the call from them today and they sound like they just represent AAA and need more info for my insurance policy. What else do you know?

They called about my automobile policy with AAA. They asked questions that went beyond the scope of my insurance.

I recently bought a new home and they were calling on behalf of Progressive Home Insurance to make sure we got a packet.  I told her I wasn't sure and she said they'd send a new one.  Totally legit.

Similar here - I ignored their first call, no VM; they called a 2nd time and left a VM with a reference number, they were calling about a new renters insurance policy I'd taken out.  I think if I hadn't called them back, my policy might have eventually been cancelled because of the outstanding questions.

So this doesn't seem like a scam company, they seem legit.

They called me on a legit basis, asking followup questions about a new Progressive renters insurance application that I'd submitted.  So they don't appear to be random scammers.

Following up - seem legit; they left a VM the 2nd time they called, and a reference number; Progressive had some followup questions about a new renters insurance application.  I called them back, it was a fairly brief conversation; I think if I'd ignored them Progressive would have cancelled my policy, so you should probably take their call.

My husband and I just purchased renters insurance through Progressive Home Advantage over the phone about a month ago.  This company (URI) called just to see if we had received the renters insurance documents in the mail and if so we needed to review, sign, and mail back to Progressive or our renters insurance could be terminated.  There was no survey - it was simply a customer follow-up .

They've called me three times so far. November 3, 2011 at 10:39 AM and then at 12:48 PM. I was in school so i didn't pick up.

They just called me again at 10:13 AM. (it's 10:29 AM right now.)
Thing is I don't have a car & I'm still a student in high school so i have no idea why they are calling me -_-

I kept ignoring calls from an unknown 800-527-1339 for a few days. They finally left a message and said they were URI Information Services calling from AAA, so I called AAA instead. AAA said URI is a data entry company hired by AAA to update policy info, like on how many miles you drive per year etc. I didn't mail in a survey a few weeks ago about my auto insurance and that's why they started calling. They said it was not a scam.

Received a call from these people who asked unusually intrusive questions.  They said they were
calling for AAA, but when I contacted AAA, they said I wasn't scheduled for a review.  So why
were they calling and what are they up to?  I'm going to report this to California's Attorney
General just in case it's a scam.
