You are correct on this PNC would not call you and ask for your information, However if you are returning the call (calling them back) then they are required to verify whom they are talking to due to government set privacy laws. This is a PNC # it is to the collections debt

Yeah because people got loans thinking they would be able to pay them. Not thinking they would be laid off. Way to use your head dumbass

I was sucked into giving the last 4 digits of my ss#, my address,and birthday.  They asked what the phone # was that the message was left on.  
I was told that my Master Card was due on 11/19 for $123 and that $248 would be due on 12/18.
I told them I didn't pay by phone and was told that I'd been warned and that a payment by computer might not reach them in time and I was risking a mark on my credit rating.
This call had all the wait time, music, and tranfers that one would expect from a cc company.

Call and hang up.  When I call back prompted for info.  I believe it's the former National City Bank, now PNC.  Lost my job, fell behind while it was Nat'l City, not a big balance, however I am on an affordable payment plan and a monthly payment is directly debited from my checking account.  It appears somewhere down the line, according to the reps I speak with, while setting up payment plan, a payment was missed and they keep calling, to get me to pay that missed payment..I told them to just extend my payback plan by one month, if I get the money I'll send it, but they call constantly anyway. T

Got a call form this number every few minutes daily for months, had to change the phone number. The record amount of calls was over 100 in one day. I cannot see how this bank still exists when they treat people like this.

Was called from this number 15 times yesterday.  Their call always leaves about 10 seconds of silence on my answering machine, never a message.  This is filling my answering machine and tieing up the line when I need to be receiving calls for work so I can male money to pay their bill!

I have a program called Talking Caler ID, has an option to block numbers and I added this one.  Now when they call it simply picks up the modem and immediately hangs up.

These people are out of control...they have been calling for 3 years looking for a Shannon!!  No Shannon here!!  Must stop soon.  I would like to walk into their office and smash some stuff.

Called my house like 19 times in one day. I just want to know who or what it is and how to get them to stop.

Dave, what makes interest rates high is that the companies are allowed to charge whatever they want. With a cost of living percentage so low that social security recepients will not receive an increase this year and interest paid on savings is so low,there is no excuse for interest rates to be 23 to 34%. Once upon a time, there were Usury laws that prevented companies from charging obscene interest rates. We should go back to those.

I have continued to receive calls from this number. It used to show an "800" area code, now the same number is coming through w/o an area code. I got tired of listening to the phone ring, followed by the answering machine pick-up, followed by a out-of-order signal when the caller hung up w/o leaving a message, so I checked online with my cable service as I have my phone through them and learned that I could block anonymous caller ID calls by using *77. It works! The phone rings once, nothing shows on CID, and the phone hangs up. If whoever this is wants to talk to me, they can unblock their CID transmission to my phone. Until then, I will automatically be hanging up on them and does that ever feel good! Gotta love it!!!

Caller keeps calling -- no one on the line.  Called today 6 minutes apart, at 3:19pm and again at 3:25pm.  

My number is 814-781-3430 and I am on the "Do Not Call" list.

This number really is National City Credit Card Department I got some calls from them and when I called back I realized that my credit card was behind and made a payment and have not missed a payment since. So if you just pay your bills the calls will stop I mean don't use your credit card and then not make a payment and then complain that they call because it is people that don't make there payments that make interest rates higher for the rest of ours.

I just started receiving these calls today, and it is only 10am and they have already called 3 times in the last two hours, does anyone know how to stop it? I picked up and they simply said hold on for a representative. At which point I hung up. Also, I don't even have a National City account.

I just received my 6th call from this number tonight (4 hours). Somebody needs to put an end to this harassment. When I pick up there is never an answer. This has been going on for months.

This is a legit call from a automated caller at National City Card Services.  Unfortunately, sometimes it gets ahold of you when no one on the other end is available.  As this is from the collections department, the calls will continue until your card is paid.  If you want the calls to stop beforehand, suggest contacting the creditor yourself and making an arrangement.  You'd be surprised what they can do to help you.

I am sick and tired of these people calling my house!

I do NOT have a National City card and I never have had one. I picked up yesterday, when they called the 2nd time and when they asked for someone by the name of Ben, I told them that they had the wrong number and that I had only had my number for 3 weeks because we just moved to the area.

This did NOT stop them from calling 8 more times yesterday! By the 4th call I was so mad, that I started screaming at them. I told the person on the other end that I wanted to talk to a supervisor....Funny, they all magically disappeared.

Total Frustration!!!  I've been getting this call for DAYS!!  Today I got 11-14 calls within 4-5 hours - RIDICULOUS!!  I had never picked up (they called during work and I'm a teacher... I'm NOT answering a call in class and a msg was never left).  After work, they called (AGAIN) and I picked up the phone and screamed, "WHAT"!  They gave me pleasantries, I acted psycho and deranged back and hung up.  Hopefully this will stop the calls.  :D

And to Frank.... these are NOT legit collectors.

800-544-3623 called us 2 dozen times between 10am and 7pm last Saturday.  I think that was a record (previous high was only 6 or 7 times in a day).  Biggest paid is, each call kicked our answering on and we receive a 30-second dial tone as their message.  Every time.  I was home to hear every last stinking one of them.    

My kid came home at 3pm today and personally hung up on this number 5 times before 4pm.  They just dialed back at 5:30.  I clicked the phone on, laid it down, and let them listen to me typing this.  Heh.

FYI, we do absolutely NO business with National Sh**ty Bank.  We paid off and closed our account in 2003, after they exported a whole bunch of their I.T. work to India, and as a result we in the U.S.A. lost our jobs.  I have no use for them whatsoever, believe me.

BTW They cannot be 'legit collectors' if we have no debt with them.

I got the same call. They were calling because I hadn't paid last month's bill. I was sure I had, but after checking my own records, I had not. They waived my late fee for paying right away. I was skeptical but did not have to give any info over the phone...because they already had it. That was creepy, but it ended up okay. So far.

Have seen on this and other sites this number is associated with National City. They claim I owe them money, but I don't. The account was closed today, I expect these calls to stop.
