Ment retained an atty and the man on the other end said all this to me..... dang phone

I received a letter and called when I said I already retained an a try they hung up on me. I called back and in a wierd scary voice said not to call back and get a life. I called again and was told he was gonna kill me.... now what... what do I do? Im terrified beyond belief......

Please do take the card to the Post Master - this is fraudulent mail.  The IRS will MAIL you a letter if you owe them money - they don't call you up and threaten you, or send a nondescript "card" or notice to you.  You can report this fraudulent mail also to them at www.irs.gov.

Received a notice, a bright pink one, with the number to call of 800-595-1592 advising me that there is a tax lien on me and that it is in my best interest to pay off the debt or they are garnishing my wages.  There is no company name anywhere on the letter nor do they state who they are.  If your nervous like I was you will believe at first it is from the IRS then you realize it can't be.    On the very  bottom of the page in tiny letters it states
"This product is not affiliated with any government agency and this offer is not being made or endorsed by any agency of the Government.  Not available in all states."

Report it to the real IRS..

i just got  a letter from them today in the mail and my tax lien was settled in May 2013. This letter scared the dog mess out of me thinking it was from IRS or that i have another lien on me that i didn't know about. This sort of thing has got to be against the law

These folks are obviously tax assistance scam artists.  One knows this because one doesn't even have to open an envelope to learn why they are writing and demanding a return call.  It cannot be legal to broadcast the fact that you have had a tax lien filed but within two days of one being filed in my name, I began getting flooded with letters and cards, some very discreet and those are probably the legit ones.  This firm, called National Tax Company, is using the name of a bona fide firm in Indiana that helps agricultural clients reduce their state tax.  The things that drives me beyond rage is the crap they place right on the outside of the postcard, your name, the amount of the IRS tax lien, the words "Final Notice", some print that states that the document is on record as having been sent to me, like I give a r_____ a___., a warning that misusing the metered postage is a crime, all the elements of appearing to be a government document.  I am going to try my darndest to find out who they really are and see what I can do to burn them...
