This is either a phishing scam or a paid 800 callback (some 800 lines charge) scam.  I'm a tech support line and I just got a call from an individual that received the message.  The scammer messed up by one digit and left my number on his machine.  I hope (since I am a tech support line and don't have time for such shenannigans) that the scammers are manually leaving each message and have not programmed their robot with my line.  I will be very busy, and kind of upset if that is the case...  Reported to BOA customer service, who advised I contact telco... if only I knew which telco.

This is a phishing scam. I got the call today saying it was from BofA Card Services and they gave the 800  number. I called the 800 number on the back of my card instead. BofA confirmed that they did not make the call and that my account looked ok. ALWAYS call the phone number on your card. NEVER give anyone who calls you any of your private info.

Event Reminder
Every month these fools call me.  I have never been one day late with them since Christ's birth and I schedule the monthly payment sometimes a week or so in advance on their website. I guess the computer calls me anyway. I got a call today and my payment is due and scheduled for tomorrow.  I spoke with a Bank of America person once about it and they said it was a courtesy call to make sure I was going to make a payment.  What a joke....Why not wait until I am past due before you panic.  When they are paid out, which won't be too long from now, I will never use them for anything: mortgages, securities, nothing....Not only that, I wouldn't work for the b_______s either.  There are three branches in this town, with no local phone number.........All toll free.  Go figure..... Please take us back to hometown banking, Lord......................

Got the call, was not home, spouse answered phone, responded that I was not available. They left return number of 1 800 598 6236, I CALLED THEM BACK voice said if this was me press 1, then they repeated the last 4 of my BANK OF AMERICA ACCOUNT, asked if I wanted to make a payment, or if I had made a payment, I responded that I had made a payment, voice said thank you and if I had questions, call 1-866-783-7593 , I CALLED and it was disconnected.  Called BK OF A # on my credit card to inquire why they called, they said they do not call to remind you that payment was due and this must be a scam,,I said lets notify your fraud dept... funny how this call came minutes after I made a payment thru Bk of AM online payment system.

I've received this phone call several times and it does say it's from Bank of America.  I would advise everyone to not give them any information as this is a way to steal your identity.

I got a call from this number yesterday on my cell phone, which is the phone number I have on my BOA accounts.   I also have all my accounts current and a payment due tomorrow.  I just removed my account off of auto pay because they have charged me a late fee for the past 3 months because BOA moved my pament due date from the 25th to the 23rd, and I had my deduction set up on auto pay for the 25th and didnt pay attention.   After freaking out on them, they refunded one month late fee and they advised me with the credit card law change, you can make your payment over the phone with no charge.  I will make mine on-line but no auto...this will keep me looking at the fees.  This phone number is an automated system that just calls outbound, no inbound.  The customer service people have no idea about systems like this, they just run a program and it auto-dials all accounts with a payment due that have a valid phone number listed on the account.

Yes, as everyone else that received this call, It is Bank of America is a reminder that your payment is due tomorrow, i guess you have to pay your statement 3 days in advance in order not to receive this call again. Good LUCK hope you're not late with your payment.

I got a call from that number, reported to be Bank of America, totally computerized call.  They knew my name, asked for last four digits of my card # and my zip code.  I hung up.  Then I called Bank of America and they had not called me.  They have cancelled my card and are issuing me new cards.  If they call, they have a record of calling, which they did not.  And they said I was totally correct in hanging up, giving no information over the phone, and then calling them directly.

I also got a call just like this.  It was automated and to my cell phone.  It said it was Bank of America, asked me to provide my zip code (only zip code though), gave me a message about how privacy is important to BofA, and then disconnected.  I was never asked anything about my account or given any information of any kind.  Perhaps I misdialed the zip code....

All of my accounts with Bank of America are current, and I too have a card payment scheduled for tomorrow.
Didn't fall for it.

They said BofA calling to guarantee privacy, give zipcode or last 4 digits of social security number. I purposefully fumbled those numbers, then pressed '0' for a live person! They brazenly said that I should call 800-598-6236, but that is a non-answered number.... SCAM

The call came in as unavailable on my caller id, but listed the number 800-598-6236. The automated message stated it was Bank of America calling. The automated system asked for me by name and then asked me to press 1. Then it said "For security reasons, please enter your zip code or the last four digits of your social security number." I entered my zip code and the response was, "if you have any questions, please call us at 1-800-598-6236." When calling the number back, I get a recording saying "The service you are trying to reach is unavailable." I called Bank of America and they didn't know anything about it. I asked if my account was set up for any kind of an automated phone call and they said no. There wasn't any account information given by the automated system. I do have a payment due on my account tomorrow, but the payment has already been made. This is very strange and a little concerning!

I got the same call just a bit ago as Dave did - Bank of America with an "important message about my bank account" As soon as it started to ask me to verify information about me, I hung up. I'm not late on anything, and all bills are paid. Just seemed too fishy. If it was important, they could always drop an email within my online account, leave a message, or have a LIVE person to talk to.

I got a call too.  They didn't leave a message, but it was on the cell phone, so I called the number back.  The recording said it was the Bank of America.  They had important information about my credit card.  I was very curious as I knew the payment wasn't late.  They wanted to know my date of birth (which I stupidly entered into my phone) and my zip code (which I also gave them).  Then the recording said my payment was due tomorrow and asked if I wanted to pay it over the phone.  I said no and the call was disconnected.  I immediately called the Bank of America who said they don't make calls unless the payment is late.  To make a long story short, they're sending me a new card.

Hi Paul. They called me yesterday too. I think it may be for my Amazon card, a courtesy call as I had emailed them a question. Ge Services the card.

Called my cell phone too and left no message.  I wrote GE services yesterday about not receiving my bill for my Amazon card. Perhaps they were calling me as a reply. I am NOT late on bills for it to be a bill collector. Just a solicitor if I'ts not Ge Services for my Amazon card.
