Got a call from this number.  The guy could barely speak english and the calls reception was horrible.  Sounded like a cell phone.  He said he was from "Merchant Bank"  he hung up because I kept asking him to repeat himself.  I couldn't really understand him and I don't think a bank has people calling on a crappy cell phone.

They kept calling and calling. Some hang ups. I finally called and asked for their owner.

Numerous calls received from this number, ordinarily hanging up unless the business owner answers. Today 12/14/2011, already received 3 calls within 2 hours, a female here received the first two calls both were hangups. I answered the third call, the solicitor was evasive would not identify himself while rudely demanding to speak with our business owner (asked for him by first name). We don't put calls through to the business owner here until fully qualified. Eventually he gave his first and a minute later gave his last name. The name the harrassing caller gave is "JOHN MILLER" from this 800-603-9331 number. JOHN was rude and adamently refused to state the reason for his call. I threatened to hang up unless he stated the reason for his calling and he sharply insisted "I WILL CALL BACK AND KEEP CALLING BACK UNTIL I SPEAK WITH (owners first name)". I hung up, as so should you.

I have asked them to stop calling many times

I got a call yesterday (11/08/2011) from someone at 1-800-603-9331 who claimed to be with Merchant (or Merchants) Bank in New York and who wanted to know when I was going to pay back the cash advance I had taken against receivables. I told the lady that I had NEVER taken any such cash advance. When I started asking her questions about who she worked for and what their address was, she hung up on me.
  I called that number and got the same person. I asked her to put me through to a manager, which she supposedly did but nobody answered. I called again and got some guy who told me that the call had been a mistake. Today, they called again. I have the feeling that the fellow on the phone was the same person  who had assured me the day before that it had all been a mistake. I asked the guy if he was saying that I owed them money. No, he said, I owed 'the previous company'. Which previous company, I asked? No answer. Then he said that they wanted to 'restructure my debt' and asked me how much I owed. I pointed out that, had I owed anything, he would have documentation to show how much it was. I told him that he was obviously trying to defraud me (well, I said he was trying to steal from me) and that I would complain to my Attorney General if they ever called again. We'll see if they do.

  This is, in my opinion, a scattershot attempt to find businesses who have taken such cash advances and intimidate them into using this outfit's services in order to 'restructure' their debt. In any case, they should at least have the common sense not to call again when their ploy fails.

Many calls per week.. Requested they take me off their list over twenty times & I've threatened to turn them in to my State Attorneys General office. Didn't stop the calls. I refuse to answer when I see their number.

This is Capital Bank telemarketers trying to solicit loans to businesses. They call 3-5 times per week.
